Originally posted by -Lily-: Since we are nomads by nature it’s no surprise that relocation is becoming more popular. In recent years, and more specifically at the present moment, more siblings, friends and even work colleagues have either been talking about relocating or have already relocated. The most popular places seem to be Dubai, Canada and Australia. What drives people to relocate? Is it the climate (some people, including myself, take this very seriously)? Is it the culture? The sense of adventure or new beginnings? Better prospects? Is the grass really greener on the other side? What do you consider ‘quality of life’ to mean? Would you consider relocating? I love relocating, the challenges, the unknowns, the unexpected and the prospects of the endless opportunities are immense. I would say,for me,what moved me was perhaps to "discover" the unknowns to see what i could possibly achieve. I have moved 1/2 dozen times in the past 10years...i have a feeling i will still be on the move, perhaps though this time(God willing),it will be the final move; to the place i was born: Africa. Time to serve and pay back "My people"(Whatever the ^&^& that means). My N/American tour is coming to an end,i can feel it.

Seriously,How does Chelsea, stay on the top? they play horrible Ball. OK,i like the team, but seriously,if they need to stay in,they should play at least some fancy football. Man U had the upper hand all along, they deserved the win. Really, Ronaldo & Tevez are cool and Hargreaves as well, and Park and Scholes oh well, the entire is good, really

Originally posted by Baashi: Watch the red ink figures! If you are in debt and haven't swiped the plate clean from undergrad grease plz hold ur horses and pay ur dues first. Otherwise go for it and ace it. Baashow, What if you see it as an investment? What is the average cost of an MBA or any professional studies for that matter over the 2-3 year period? 40K? 50K? Now,what about the return? Say, the average starting salary for an MBA holder is about 85-90K, that is almost 150K in two years? Add that to the likelihood of advancement which has the potential of rising in corporate America, in 10 years or so, one could actually return the initial investment, easily. Lander/La Kish, Good luck. Really, I am sure you two will be among the 39% of those who made it

Thanks everyone!~ Lander & Geeljire, are you guys in the programme?

Watch your MOUTH Waraa Seriously laakin, exactly what i had said earlier, they need to focus on more important things, rather than such trivial and of course, endless partying. Nation Building!!!

Originally posted by STOIC: FB, Hopefully when you get that MBA you can help the brother overcome his handicap of the balance sheet with comparative ease. I don’t know anything about business school, but I know a Somali friend who is trying to get into MIT Sloan School of business (he went undergraduate there). I think you guys have to take the GMAT.I will ask him when I meet him over the Memorial weekend and I'll call you (IA). I know you know the difference, but just try to avoid the commercial online degrees like University of Phoenix. PS Green suit  I love green suits. U.Of PHX is actually accredited, perfect for working adults like me Have you taken the test yet? got admitted yet? I can,as of now help you with your balance sheet, students like you dont make that much money L0L

Originally posted by Haneefah: So you've finally decided to commence your studies? Yeey! Good for you. I did an MBA course (health care policy) last term, and I tell ya, it required a whole new set of skills and outlook on my part...I had no idea what the heck a SWOT analysis or stakeholder analysis entailed - the entire process of strategic planning was foreign to me (uderstandably), but to my surprise, it proved to be quite interesting. I am hoping to squeeze in a leadership or management course into my schedule later this summer as well, InshaAllah. Best wishes buddy. Just do me a favour and don't ever adopt the usual black suit/snobbish attitude look known to those students. Thanks huunoy. aah,so your business instincts are kicking in? You know once you go business, you may as well kiss the health industry good bye? Hospital management is big, switch careers hadaba. Problem is,i have a hectic work schedule 16+ hrs of work every day, something needs to be sacrificed,it aint gonna be business school. Ps.I hate suits, except if it is either green or white or purple Pss/ Nephy,You are crazy. No demographics needed laakinse,it helps if you are in the states L0L, Sophist is one mean dude.

^Maxaa lagu feed gareya? Caws ba kama baxee dhulkaase?(Waa sidi lagu yiri yaah) & Qamadina iyo galey dadkii baa ubahanee. Horta, let me ask this, why do Somalis(and landers) have to party on such an occasion? Shouldnt you rather, stage a forum of speakers talking about the history and culture of the people, educating the masses on the importance of self governance and other such really important matters. Must they dance & dance(poorly as such?)
-
Any MBA students, want to be students or thinking about it? Sophist asked this awhile back in the student's section(Who really goes there? seriously). I dont think Sophist ever got an answer. So,i ask(again) ,any chaps here enrolled in the program or anyone thinking of it? If so,what does it take? is it safe or wise rather to take it online? Do you have a close family who is enrolled or a graduate of an MBA? Ps. I know this is the wrong section,Laakin, yaa tago meeshas runtii?

Only a woman will put the time and effort into thinking about this little stuff. OK,So they cant spell and or write grammatically correct english? You guys need to consider that most of these Faraxs learnt English about 10-12 years ago at some "old age". Unlike you younglings who were say,10years old and under. They need to be commended not condemned. Remember, Most schools in Somalia never taught English. This is nonsense(with all due respect@ Serenity),actually,it is more of a pet peeve than a dispair,me thinks *Excuse me while i go write some poor english*
