my life didn't flash before my eyes...but my wallet did!
-Serenity- replied to - Femme -'s topic in General
The last near death experience I had was in Edgware Road, when I was almost hit by a car. I was following Valenteenah blindly and didnt look out for cars...thinking she would know I was just inches behind her and depending on her judgement to cross, not looking out for cars myself and hence she should've made sure the lights turned green instead of cutting it fine while it was still red. A car turned into our road and almost knocked me down, but not before causing me to FREEZE FROM SHOCK with the bloody honking. I think the guy stopped a couple of inches short of knocking me out for good. I had a surreal experience a few mins after that, convinced that I was dead and this little movie playing in my head of my funeral and how my family and friends would react to my departure. [dont laugh any1] I honestly almost cried watching it. -
LOL. Gediid, this place missed ur SOH man. Welcome back.. and continue the classes, although I (and you) dont really need them

I dont see whats victorious about shutting down cinemas/film centres or even catching a few guys watching porn. That seems really small-minded to me. There are bigger issues to deal with, wouldnt u say so Mr.NG.

These Wadaads are being very pathetic. They have whole cities at their feet and they choose to pick wars (and get media attention) on trivial issues like films and public entertainment. What about creating jobs? Salvaging the economy? Strengthening the security? Building infrastructure? Restoring education? Creating health-care facilities? Grrrr! Why don’t they air something worthwhile for me to read instead of this never ending public executions and shutting down of entertainment!

Ah! This is what happens when you read a topic one day and comment the next day.. you get totally boggled by the source

Endeavour, its not that complicated, the way I see it. What do you want to do? Whatever your answer is, whether it is to be a stay at home wife (and stay-at-home mum later) or a working woman (throughout your life or making sacrifices for your family when the need arises), I think the choice should be solely yours. There are those woman who cant see themselves happy in the work-force and there are those that cant imagine their daily conversations revolving around house-work and the like. Whatever you decide and think will be the best option for you, the brother should work with you on that and not impose anyhing on you.. it will only make you resent him in the long run. Marriage is supposed to enhance your life and your own view of how you imagined to live it.. not restrict it or give you tough engraved-in-stone choices to make. Also, ask yourself, is your decision to go and work only financial? And if the brother offers to fulfill that, why would you want to work? Personally for me, working will probably never be about finance in the long run but making a positive contribution to the community I'm part of. And for that, you need not be staying home all the time or be stuck in a 9-5 role (which I view as equally pathetic ways to live your entire life ).

Val, ma waxkaloo soo bandhigto ayaad weydey? Goodness! I honestly cannot wait in aan wadamadan ka tago. That Metro is one filthy paper, and unfortunately it happens to be the only free paper for commuters.

August is too far away North. Cant we make it to the end of this month? The thread will be forgotten by then.. besides, I've already exhausted ma one entry here and would like the chance for a re-match, now that I've seen the competition (and standard) and the pictures people are most fascinated by. *Takes her camera to go and zoom in on some insects in her garden*

I think we should have a poll in a new thread. That would be fair (and I could possibly bribe a few ppl into voting for me..thus saving myself the embarrassment of last place )

anybody recommend a free upload site that means FREE Flickr. No reason not to keep going now

I was going to post this pic of Virginia Water I took two weeks ago but it looks like Warsan has beat me to the whole lake-scene. So I'm gonna settle for my second best, which is of London. Taken standing on the millennium bridge. Click here to see enlarged view p.s. I better not see any of those national geogrpahic-like pics in this competition...this is an amateur's club, right?

Yeah.. but not if u post nonsensical topics to get there. Only deep, insightful posts are counted.

Lily, thanks for sharing your holiday snaps. Can we see some you're in too?

^ I think the trick is to go for an average looking joe with other redeeming qualities (brains, money and unwavaring devotion to yours truly) and you've a 50% shot at beautiful kids and the other 50% can take their chances relying on the same luck as their dad.

So... The LAZY GREASY OILY Italians have won.

Its gonna be Italy VS Portugal, mark my words! This is gonne be a WC to remember. As for the arrogant Germans, I'm glad they're going home... oh wait.. they are home. I guess they will have to watch from the sidelines then. HAHAHAHA. They ******* deserve it. Completely hate them after they sent my two fave teams home - England and Argentina.

Well, I've new found respect for the wadaado. I'm glad to hear things are nicely progressing in Xamar and neighbouring states. I hope it stays that way.

^ ‘Reconstructive’. There is the operative word. I don’t see it as a problem when its reconstructive as in the case of under-developed breasts, mastectomies, etc. However, in the case of births, are breasts the only thing that change? What about abs? Weight? Where does some1 draw the line in trying to get back to their previous stature? The way I see it… growing older, giving birth and so forth are expected natural part of life that one is better off accepting as change is inevitable, whether in the size and shape of ones breasts, skin not being as tight, things down there not looking as pretty, wrinkles appearing, buttocks not as firm, thighs not proportional, etc etc etc… the list is endless and I'm sure you get where I'm going with this

^ I dont get it either. Dont bigger boobs make one less flexible and mobile? I mean, how many athlete women are double D's? Not many I think. This whole bigger boobs phenomenon is an indication of bigger self-esteem issues. I'm not too sure if the women who do get them get happier afterwards. But then again, I guess it all depends on the audience one is going for and the lengths they are willing to go to get socially accepted. Some are happy being pretty objects of male affection, while others value other things more. One thing is for sure, and I would like some1 to convince me otherwise if the case exists, no woman gets the implants because it makes HER life better.
-
The trick Warsan, is to expand your social circle and have a different partner for each one of those activities. That way, you get to enjoy all the benefits of coupling and none of the problems of shared accounts, problems, ambitions, all that shared mess, while enjoying your independence and personal space. To feel satisfied with being single is accepting defeat of sort, i say I would think its the ultimate acceptance of yourself. That you're content in being with you.

*insert terribly distraught and crying emoticon here* Wasn't that the most nail-biting 30mins and penalties? I'm so sad for the Argentinians and I cant stand the Germans!
