  2. Xiin, I was just being a good samaritan and clarifying things for the girl. She probably wouldnt have noticed if I didnt put it in bold Cara, why in the world would I want to join you two? Give me a good reason before you put conditions, dammit!
  3. Xiin, did you just ask Cara out for a hot cup of tea? Take note gabadhyahay. Theological tete-a-tete indeed! Jimcaale, maya, layguma dayin aniga, ma waxaan u eekahay in aan dacwa u baahanahay?
  4. LoL. No, waxaan cunaa kuwa specifically la'ii qaley. Mid iska dhimatay maxaan ku falaa?
  5. ^Are you going to give it a decent buriel?
  6. ^Tell me about it. The radiator is on maximum and I've two hot water bottles, one on my lap and another below my feet but half of me is still cold. Hailstorm, rain, cold, sunshine. I dont think you get all four seasons in one day in any other part of the world.

Thats the most interesting quote in this thread. So polygamy and Islam go hand in hand maalmahan miyaa? Honestly, I've never done any decent dacwa but this wasnt how I imagined it. Would you be interested in learning about Polygamy and Islam? Polygamy ey? Yeah, Islam allows you to have four wives. Sign me up bruv (men). / Laterz loser (women).
  8. Ilaahay ha u naxariisto your BIL BOB. My sincerest condolences go out to your whole family. Sabr iyo iimaan I'A.
  9. North, I like most of your informative posts. You're balanced, polite and cool! Congrats.
  10. You're right, that was rude and vulgar. Its difficult not to be to this outpour of...of...nonsense by grown up men. But I'll retract it nonetheless.
  11. Originally posted by mantra: Serenity you seem confused, perhaps modelling would be more fitting..or a career in writing (preferably self-help books, boy do people buy that garbage).. You've me figured out, dont you? *insert sarcastic grin here*

I always went for subjects I had interest in, or thought I had interest in. I enjoyed science in my GCSE's and went for an all science A levels. After which I realized science wasnt really my thing and thought I was interested in computers and business in '02. Again in reality I didnt have a clue what they entailed and I was obsessed with the internet and mistook that for love of computers , which I now realize it isnt because there is nothing that can kill my enthusiasm for life more than development/programming of any sort - a big part of computing. As for business, u mostly need soft skills and a desire to make money at all cost (which I think I do have, but that too is very questionable ), more than academics. Anyways, I cant see how else one can sustain interest in a subject and actually pass if they dont hold an inkling of curiosity or liking for the subject matter... all for the sake of job prospects. Thats almost to equivalent to killing your soul i.e. studying a subject you dont enjoy and getting stuck in a similar rut for life. *feels queasy at the mere thought*
  13. Is awlugeeye grammatically correct? I cant even pronounce it. Xiin, xaaji-duul-duul isku bixi hadaba. If memory serves me right, xaaji-duul-duul waxa loogu yeedha dadka fudud .
  14. Call me uncreative and then ask me to come up with a creative name... yeah, that would work...not! Anyways, waxaad rabtaa magac ku faaniya... and I'm afraid you'll get none of that from me.
  15. Xiin, I get tired of seeing the same nick over and over again, including yours. So go and change it.

Its one thing to try and inculcate a sense of tolerance in kids, because living in diverse communities its important to understand ‘difference’ respect it and even appreciate it, but a completely different matter to teach them LIES! A space girl cannot have two mothers nor a penguin two dads. That is, in simple logic, false.
  17. Khayr, this one was even better. The result i.e.

    Nip Tuck

A little nip and tuck here and there when gravity has taken its ugly toll. Completely understandable.
  19. I've always had male bosses, and quite frankly it suited me well. While its nice to have a woman who understands all that you go through as a woman, its even better to have a man who hasn’t a clue and you mostly don’t even have to bother offering anything in the form of an explanation. In my case, a smile or a nod when enquired why I had to leave early or got in late always sufficed.
  20. Choices choices choices! Go to this or this or my friends dholki? I get the feeling I'll get too tired thinking and preparing for all (afterall, one starts at 10, another at 16:30 and the last one at 19:00), but end up going to none because the preparation was too much of a pain! Lily, you've my support. I'll probably have to cut out the middleman to make it to the other events, if at all, but I'll give my donations via our intermediary friend
  21. Cambarro, ginger is out of the question. I've a very strong gag-reflect to things I dislike when I'm ill. Like this morning, I didnt like the warm salty water that mum handed me and xalay waxaan cunoo dhan baan soo celiyey. It wasnt pleasant at all (sight and action). There is nothing, nothing worse than sore throat.
