  4. LoL@CG. You're supposed to be exceptionally nice on two occasions Caano - weddings and funerals, and keep all jokes out! So in that spirit - NinBrown, congrats walaalo. May you enjoy a very long and fulfilling married life .

You guys should have left that thread here for all to see. My issues with him go way back to Women's section. I have no clan issues whatsoever. What a vindictive, self-absorbed person! LoL.
  6. Kashafa, the one dimensionality of your POV makes it difficult to take you seriously. I hate to break your resolve, but the ICU were not God-sent! And quite frankly, for good or bad, they are gone. Now move on, and talk about how things could be improved henceforth. This wallowing and pining for the good old days of the ICU is a little.. ineffective. And if you're interested to know, I personally, would not consider living under anywhere they dictated! (And if it would make your next reply to me any less harsh - I wouldn't choose to live under the TFG either)

After all it's unwise to continue submitting your complaints to what you percieve as a clannish editorial! This is getting pathetic, really! You might want to remove my name. I dont blv so!

I feel quite offended that its now being called 'back and forth' insults, because I only noticed insults going one way. I wasnt insulting in any sense of the word in LX's topic, just the usual sarcasm expected in this section! Originally posted by Kashafa: As for LX's two threads, it was deleted, in part, because certain nomads 'aa macaweesta ka dhacthay', losing their dignity and cool because of 'Aabo Cabdullahi aa laa caayay'. Pathetic, true. But you can't go about tryna 'save face' for individuals, and in the process, lose authenticity. Spot on K. Harsh, but genuine advice.

    Marriage

^I'm not too bothered about the ceremonial aspect of it really. Whatever the families want, I guess - as long as it doesnt involve putting me in a gaudy white dress and making me sit on a gold-plated chair to the amusement of the crowd.

  11. You guys are hilarious! But I've to say, Sheh's theory is very commendable!
  12. It resembles the Smart car and seems just as flimsy. I'll not be caught anytime soon in something that ugly and claustrophobia-inducing.

  14. North, I do hope you're talking about yourself. Thanks Lily. NG, I'm at work, but I'm in such a good mood, I cant concentrate or want to . Did you miss me?
  15. Hello Trolls! Could anyone give me links to where I can listen to popular Somali songs?
  16. ^that was just vulgar NG! I've to agree with you on this one - that clip was a waste of my 4.5mins Marcus!
  17. Originally posted by NGONGE: quote: Marc, this is a different communication medium to that of YouTube! It is a discussion forum, and unless you're willing to discuss the ideas, opinions and views you're putting in those clips, somebody might mistake your threads on here as mere advertising This is what I wrote to you in one of your earlier threads. I have to modify my statement now. I don't suspect you of advertising I think you ARE advertising. Now if you have the energy, ability and desire to discuss these topics on here, in writing and in a format suitable to this communication avenue I (and I'm sure many others) will be happy to engage you. But if you continue posting these tedious links and asking us to go through the trouble of waiting for Youtube to load up so that we can hear your aimless drivel, I am afraid I'll have to take Caano Geel's place and start dogging you with my own rants. Put up or, please, shut the hell up. Marcus, what NG means is that most of us log into SOL while at work, and being spotted watching clips on youtube isnt the most attractive option while doodling. Also, although I've headphones, I dont suspect most people bring them to work and therefore cannot hear your clips. So like NG said, if you want to be taken seriously on this medium, try to write. Preferably with proper punctuation.
  18. Hi Layzie, I've read your comments in the other thread and I think your idea is noble. I’m just curious to know, what the aims and objective of this network would be? ‘Our aim will be to serve and better our communities’ is a little too vague. I dont really blv the problem of youths committing crimes against one another is that widespread. Personally, I've come to the conclusion that the single most prominent problem that youths face in the Diaspora is education. They simply dont have anyone to turn to, to help with homework. The parents usually do not have the understanding of the educational system in the home country or simply cannot help because of other reasons beyond their control. Thus leading to the children failing in school, being secluded and not reaching their potential or feeling like a failure in life and choosing an alternative lifestyle - gangs and the black market. I once contemplated setting up a network for homework help. This was when my sister was doing her GCSE's and some of her friends used to ask me to help them. And my sister would say to me that they weren't lucky enough to have parents or siblings who could help them and I should. It really broke my heart and it’s when I realized where these kids suffer the most - doing their homework on a regular basis. I’m off home in a min , so in a nutshell, should you get your network get off the ground and get volunteers to join.. please include the homework help section. The volunteers would each commit to helping a single boy/girl in their area with their homework consistently and long term. This would truly complement your idea of helping ‘one youth at a time’.
  19. Its really sad to see the Muslim world still practicing discrimination along gender lines in this day and age.
  20. Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a good year ahead.
