JB, did I tell you my little sis is in hargeisa? LOL. For the first time since she was 2yrs old! And now she is 18. I spoke to her a few mins ago and I thought she would be miserable and crying and asking to come back, but it looks like she is having a ball!! She said the weather was faboulous and she had 'beer' this morning!! And she lurrves everybody!! LOL. Obviously I think I should give her more than a day to come down from her high... and get bored, right?

What this forum needs is not new 'sections' but more people participating and sharing ideas. Lax the joining process.

Taqwa is based on the Love of Allah, if I teach my child to love allah, they will have no problem understanding this. 4)The hijab is Imaan, It is central to their believe. [/QB] The above can simply be summed up as: God said, and therefore you must obey. Its not really much of an explanation at all. If you tell a child 'God said this', they would most likely follow it up with 'But why did God say that?'. A child must be able to understand their role in the wider context in th community and how their actions and looks effect that. And although kids might understand this, they may not appreciate it until they are old enough to have be part of that experience. 5) The hijab is Haya, morality etc. ^Haya and morality has little if anything at all to do with how one looks but how one acts.

^Horta labadiina xarafka 'd' maa la idinka mamnuucay? Stoic, whenever the urge to use 'th' in Somali comes over you, substitute it with 'd', and that will be a major improvement

^I hate walking in heel. Difference. Whenever I'm in flats and the weather is good, I walk to and from my local train station - 20mins each way . Still, if I felt like I needed exercise for more than just keeping healthy, the gym would be my zen place.

LOL. Sorry people. And good luck!!!

Might sound mighty insensitive, but I’ve no trouble loosing weight – infact, its probably the easiest thing for me to do. I mean, how hard is it to resist eating beyond your limit? What you guys should really be addressing is your ability to resist something and caajisnimo to get out and do some exercise. Exercise shouldn’t even be weight dependent, one should exercise for health. And you should eat to live, not the other way around. What I have a real issue with, is gaining weight. It takes me 4 – 5 days of missing a few meals to lose a kg, only to have to stuff myself for 2 weeks with food I normally dislike (McDonalds chips) to gain it back. That’s hard – force-feeding yourself.

To me, an educated woman means I'm always questioning whether she would even want to associate with a lowlife like me, when she could find another man who is smarter and has a higher education. Cadaan!!! Stop being so self-deprecating. Honestly, you're much more educated, aware, more literate, and more suited to life in the west than alot of degree-carrying (Somali - or non native English speaking) men! Besides, its not a degree or a job that helps you make money, its self determination. And thats what you need to find more than a degree. And last but the least, its not healthy to insult your partner or be insulted in a relationship. So thats not something you should be worried about - it would be the type of relationship you're in.

No you werent. I was stuck in the district line at midnight in earls court. And had to fork out a hefty cab bill to get home. Public transport is so maddening! I dont know why I was on public transport on a weekend anyway! I have a car and should be making use of it, but once u get addicted to the wretched luxury of inactive commuting, its difficult to wean yourself off it!
