Qac Qaac, Walaalo, I dont recall saying anything unpleasant to you... I c we are all operating on different frequencies today ... Mr.Chauvinistic Mysogynist... I'll not answer whateva it is ur waiting 4 ... 'cause u'll simply not understand it. And finally with regards to Hibo's question. I think it depends on how you present yourself - arrogant and condescending or pleasnnt natured yet competent and articulate. The later usually doesnt offend most men...unless they were chauvinistis pigs! in which case its advicable to stay clear of them

UD I should really stop acknowledging your presence..you seem to crave attention from the fairer sex and hence your presence in this section almost all your time ... Maybe if you talked more about male-related issues with a few gents, you'd realize where da problem lies...and learn to present your view more constructively. Anywayz, lay off the "leaves" eh? You seem to have an aura of "highness"(pun intended) about your posts all we as men, if i could talk for them, is we wanna marry somali women, if we want to marry a cadaan girl, we could've here, so when u guys bring their ideologies to us. we just leave. coz we want a somali lady, who thinks her calture is superiority over the west, not one that thinks it is back home thing, do u believe your calture is inferior to the west?...... Qac Qaac I dont know what ur talking about mate...cadaan aint synonymous with education. Besides, whats a culture got to do with depriving some1 of reaching their full potential? And we are Muslims and wish to take the best of both worlds...nothing western about that.

Yes Jewel, its sad indeed a few SOL'er feel the only way they can disagree with you is by attacking your intellect...when as a matter of fact, you're too stunned by their mind-numbing rambling to even consider responding

It takes an extremely selfish and narrow minded individual to want another to sacrfice their entire education/skills/potential to serve them and only attend to their every whim. A sure sign of insecurity about their own potential. Personally, I would never want a partner who did nothing but stay home and cook/clean. If nothing else, atleast a topic of discussion at dinner is likely if some1 has been out of the house...what would I talk to about some1 who has been home all day? da grocery? da food? or cleanin products? I've a suggestion for those who want a woman who stays home and cooks/cleans/breeds - Get a girl from Somalia with no significant education, that way, you can feed your ego and feel you're needed...but remember the following. * She would need ESL classes so she can distinguish da cheese from da butter and the meduim sized nappies from the small ones. Some technical knowledge to operate the home gadgets. Basic health education so she knows what food has high calories/cholesterol. An introduction into cleaning products (anti-bacterial to bleach)... etc... ^^ ooops! This should take a good few yrs after which it becomes education and encourages Xalimo to take advantage of all the opportunities available...n ur selfish arz is as good as gone
-
^^ Well said. This will go on forever...why dont we all just agree to STOP eh Hapless Opinionated...

Nino, I mean this in the nicest way possible but I dont see the point of ur copy and paste job! You're taking things out of context, there is nothing and no-one evil here...I'm assuming everyone has good intentions at heart even if they dont see eye to eye with each other. I've not given my stance on this issue and therefore ya all should stop writing to me as such. I merely pointed out the selective-response attitude by some of the posters. I rest my case.

To please all people is an unattainable thing and personally I'm not interested in pleasing the majority Originally posted by Baashi: One (Opinionated) is belittling and badmouthing Islamic injuction. The other (Rahmah, Qori Xabaalan, and Bulo) is delineating the fine prints of the same legal imjuction by citing primary sources - Khalif Omar, Al-Bukhari and among others. Is a buncha crock all thats worrying you and the rest? 'cause it seems to me, they all came to the same conclusion anyway. PS. Am I next on da hit list? Lemme know 'cause I'll get ma ammunition and weapons of mass destrustion ready

Kheyr  , I dont wanna be Opinonated's attorney(since there is no pay), but I think you're all being a lil unfair to the sister. If you refer to an Islamic ruling as a buncha crock or say it no longer applies = same thing. How she chooses her words is her prerogative..wouldn't it be sad if we all chose the same words?

Is it me or does Opinionated pose such a threat to certain people? If I'm not mistaken, Raxmah , Bulo and Qori Xabaalan refuted the Maxram idea too but I dont see any1 bouncing on them ... Bulo Writes.. The proof of the permissibility of a woman traveling without a mahram is incumbent upon there being security and the presence of trustworthy faithful people. What was reported by Al-Bukhari is that during the final hajj of Umar Bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he gave permission to the wives of the Prophet (pbuh) to perform hajj. So he sent with them Uthman Bin Affan and Abdul Rahman. Umar, Uthman, Abdul-Rahman Bin Awf and the wives of the Prophet (pbuh) all agreed to this. None of the other companions rejected what they did and therefore this is considered to be consensus. . . . The second is that prohibited things are not permitted except if there is a dire need. And things that are prohibited so that they can be an obstruction to evil are permitted during times of need. And there is no doubt that the prohibition of a woman traveling without a mahram is prohibited so that it can be an obstruction to evil. It is incumbent upon us to look at traveling in our time. It is not like how traveling was in the past. It is not filled with the dangers of the waterless deserts, encounters with thieves, highway robbers, etc. Now traveling is by various modes of transportation that usually gather large amounts of people at a time, like ships, airplanes, buses or cars that travel in caravans. Thus, this provides plenty of confidence and reliability, removing feelings of fear for the woman, because she will not be by herself in any place. Qori Writes In the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to `Adiy ibn Hatim we read: “If you live long, you will see the woman travel from Hirah (a city in Iraq) to circumambulate the Ka`bah fearing none but Allah.” (Reported by al-Bukhari) This confirms that the cause (of the prohibition) is fear (of insecurity). If security is guaranteed and fear is no more present, a woman may travel, particularly nowadays when travel has become easy, whether by air, train or coach. In all these means of transportation, company is available and security is realized for the Muslim woman. And Lastly, Raxmah However, in my opinion with the changed circumstances of modern times, travelling has become a lot different from what it used to be in previous days. There are some travels in which safety both physical as well as moral is ensured. So, in such travels the mahram condition no longer applies. As far as the decision as to which journeys have become so safe is concerned, the traveller must decide for herself. If some of you have other reasons why you want to be hostile towards Opinionated, say so..just dont be holding that "Islamic" Banner.

Originally posted by Khayr: Salaamz, I was watching the news clippings last night about World Aids Day and some statistics and it is seems minimal compared to other diseases like Cancer, Heart Attacks, Diabetes etc. Probably emphasis is laid more on AIDs cuz its mostly self-inflicted through promiscuousness, homosexuality, drug-addiction, carelessness etc. Also, cancer and diebetes are curable to the extent people can have normal lives. At the rate AIDS is spreading around the world and specially Somalia, it can hardly be called minimal

Being romantic is being considerate - making that extra effort to make your partner feel you think about them.Something as simple as picking up something from the grocery that you know you hate but ur partner likes is Romantic, tape-recording that game or soap while they are away is romantic, making dinner and making yourself ready 4 them 2 get home is romantic - make an effort , be creative ... thats romance
