Oh MY! lot of tv buffs here . I go through phases of watching tv excessively to watching half an hour or less. I watch Friends, My wife n Kids, Eve, Queer Eye 4 da str8 guy(love the make-overs!!), American Idol and Paradise Hotel now. Nothin else really. I guess im suffering from a limited-attention-span-syndrome.

Interestingly, I was watchin this programme on channal 4 2nite about children and people who are born intersex or hermophrodites. If God created these individuals to exhibit characters of both the sexes, isnt it possible that being 'gay' is a condition too? ...that some ppl are just born gay? Personally, as a muslim, I blv being gay is against nature and what God intended. However, leaving in a secular society, I feel like I've no choice but to tolerate these people for what they are. I do not like it nor do I agree with their lifestyle, yet I dont intend on being mean-spirited or spiteful towards them. Just like Princess_Sexy said, I'd also not approve of them being segregated or subjugated to hate/prejudice on that account. On the issue of same-sex marriages, I dont really see the point, marriage is mostly about pro-creation and the concept of family and I dont see how 'gay' couples can achieve this on their own. So I dont think it should be legalised...although I'm aware that some states already have. Reason being, that will make it seem aceeptable or 'natural' (excuse my political incorrectness) which IMHO it is not as it clearly goes against every known belief.

Not much. GT + QQ + CK = nacamleyaal. GT = perv Nuune + MMA = I'd comment if I understood half the things they wrote in Somali. They definitely dont speak Somali rite -

Quite frankly, money should not be an issue when it comes to dates. As long as the date is good and you both enjoyed yourselves, its worth the money - from whichever party or both. Its bad dates and horrible locations you should watch out for.

Personally, although I can read and write Somali, I just feel like I'm draggin my sentences when I write in it. So I prefer English.

Gents, is FGM a quality you look for in your prospective wife?

This is the most barbaric and inhumane act I've ever came across. It makes me cringe and sick to my stomach thinking about this life long sexual handicap inflicted on poor defenceless girls by their own parents! Ilaahay waxaan ka baryayaa any parent who, despite knowing the ills of this activily, impose it on their child, be held responsible here and the here-after! Just like Somealien, my parents are vocally anti-fgm and thanks to my mum, none of her 4 sisters combined 15 daughters have fallen victim to this irrational and ungrounded mutilation. -
See..thats ma 'secret' part

Idhageysta maryooleyeey... alaabta = the thing. I dont know how that translates to the male private parts... ya'll think too far!

I disagree. I think it has less to do with the vocabulary and more with sentence structure. SW just seems to cram as many words as possible in each and every sentence... however, I do admire both their writing skills... continue as you are (not that u need ma permission but dont we al just love an ego boost ) gentlemen. . . . And *****&%^$ *** .. this is ma 600 post! Thought I'd never reach there thanks to Admin wiping out all ma posts!

^^ By preachers I meant the 'ama i maqal ama ha imaqlin' crowd..those who endlessly talk the talk but dont walk the walk. I feel honoured to listen to really learned people who give their advice to those who want it and go to them - in specified locations - talks, masjid, home, schools, etc. Its the 'free' talkers I dont bother with.

^ A little of both though I'm leaning towards destiny... Who is dumber - U or ME?

I've to say Alhamdulilah... my dad financed most of it. I think I'll just end up with £3000 for the entire 3yrs...which I plan to repay in ma first year of work... Isn't student loan interest FREE? By the way...instead of volunteering, why dont you get a job that pays? + earn the rest of the year and save up. Actually study period is 9 months of the year of which we are off 2 months... so technically we study about 7 months and off the other 5 ...or atleast that how my uni operates.

He has the style and the moves... n we like that... none of that rough and minimum maintenance crap.. its da 21th century, about time men got with the program.

Religion isn't in the way we talk, it's in the way we walk. Preaching makes things worse; I think...Im the last to preach and the last to listen to preachers. Regarding the hijab, I dont want to argue about it but I do hate it when people make it seem as if ladies who dont cover their heads are sinners and a disgrace to society. I really think a lot of them cover their heads because it's a tradition more than religion. My personal view: what is in your heart is what's more important to God than the way you dress. For those who know a lot about Islam, I have a question and its because I need someone to shed some light on this: Is the "hijab" mentioned somewhere in the Quraan insinuating that the hijab means covering our head the way women do today? I know it's mentioned in the Quraan but in that context? pls enlighten me. Hijab as worn by women today started as a traditional thing with the Arabs and it was before Islam ...it started back in the days of the Jews and Christians...most likely even before the jews... From my understanding, the basic rules for our Islamic dress code is to be modest, cover our chest, and wear lengthy clothings. In a word, be conservative!

I just came from there...treated myself to a nice Arab dinner too. The atmosphere was really calm and peaceful not to mention happy. About the number of turn-outs, its difficult to estimate, ppl have been going in and out since early this morning... I'm assuming there must have been atleast 40,000 ppl around the time I was there. VIVA LA SOMALILAND! -
