You certainly seem familiar with the device and its new accessories. Even if you are “recreational” users, exactly what draws the line between light, occasional use and serious shisha dependence? I'd think the amount of time spent 'smokin(for lack of a better term)' would be the indicator. And assuming that 'cause ppl know about its 'accessories' (as you refer to them, although hardly that) doesn't mean they do it...its just your assumptions & u know what they say about assume- its makes an *** of u and me... I find myself doubting a possible nicotine addiction as the only factor Really? got proof?

  6. Nice Thread! Havent been to any Somali restaurants except Oceans at Haringey, and quite honestly, I dont see what da buzzing excitement is all about. The menu is limited, the place definitely could use more lighting (altho I noticed xalimoos like gulping in the dark ) and there are just a couple of waiters on standby at anytime. er.. BUT... the little food that they serve is nice I guess.. *trying to avoid being seen as negetive*
  7. ^^ hehehe...maybe I forgot to mention,"reliable sources have it".. ceeb caleek!! I dont do it..I'm here for purely recreational and vacational purposes

Therefore having all their time to myself is self-inflicted affliction! I want a part-time husband .. So YES, I dont mind being the 2nd, 3rd, and preferably 4th woman
  14. The perfect marriage entails completele independece, mutual dependence and fair partnership. Nothing short of that will do.
  15. ^^ u r gross and disgusting! *spits*
  16. Maybe 'cause its not as addictive as cigarettes and you dont need to smoke 20 a day to be cheerful. Also, since young ppl mostly do it in cafes...its self-indulgence...once in a while...

Originally posted by Amaani: [QB]If, for a moment you put your personal perception on correct hijab aside; Assuming, that the sister in question is right in her opinion that Muslimah MUST wear the jilbaab where ever she goes and not doing so is disobedience to Allah. Would you still advocate for school rules? Is the schools uniform more important than the Islamic uniform – and has the school the right to refuse access to Muslim students. 1st of all, I'm not talkin about my personal perception of hijaab but the generally accepted perception. 2ndly, there is nothing 2 assume, jilbaab is not a MUST. 3rdly, from my understanding, the school provides provisions to wear the hijaab. Furthermore, would you dismiss this sister as an extremist when other British schools with uniforms allow their students to wear the jilbaab. Would you still dismiss her when the law of the state supports her case (after all gaalos are not all bad- so why underestimate them?) .. and when the said school is has now reviewed their idiotic policy? I'm glad the school has adhered to their set policies...however, I do think it was an unnecessary fuss + there could be consequences where other students follow suit n choose what to wear to school. I don’t know about Muslim countries – most of their schools don’t even adher to the Islamic principles of providing separate schools for boys and girls etc. In the case of Somalia, the hijaab was actually banned by the former government. – but there was a uniform. They do... almost all public schools are separate. Lastly, I think we are arguing somewhat from the same perspective....differently.
  21. Amaani I still think you're taking this whole thing out of context. This is a school..where every student is expected to dress the same! thats da rule. Which part of school uniform doesnt register well with you? This is not a general debate on "dress code" but a specific one. Even in muslim countries, students are expected to adhere to school rules and regulations..and the specific school uniform that's considered modest and practical.
  22. I'm afraid some of you have taken the usual route and surpassed the 'point'. We are discussing uniforms here...not an infringement on 'freedom to dress as you please'. The school, as far as my understanding goes, has provisions to let students dress per Islamic standards. I dont need to stress how important uniforms are in schools. What this girl is doin is brushoff the whole uniform idea, which is not supposed to suit every student but for the benefit of all. Seems to me that 'muslim' has become the new 'black' everyone uses to drive their point. Its quite pathetic some of you have taken things out of context to validate your point. This is a school - with uniform, not somewhere everyone can dress as they please. Not everything a muslim does is right, neither is everything a 'gaal' says wrong.
  23. Hijaab is the normal covering of female 'cawra'. Jalbaab is a specific type of hijaab...thats a little on the extreme end.
  24. hmmm..interesting! I agree with the school... if there are provisions to dress islamically and cover sufficiently(as per standarn muslim standards), thats well and good. I dont think its appropropriate to let every student dress as they please. Jalbaab is not a religious requirement, hijaab is. There has to be some kind of uniformity among the pupils of the school. Wearing a jalbaab completely ignores that. Its like wearing a new garment all on its own. I think that any religious clothes worn should improvise with the school uniform. Thats how teachers distinguish their pupil. Besides its only till you finish your GCSE's that you wear uniform...and most girls are under 16 at this stage. The notion of banning the jilbab in school is nothing other than a direct attack against Islamic values, the reasons for which go far deeper than what is professed. It is not the garment itself that is the subject of the attack, but rather the thought and belief behind the decision to wear it, which is being challenged ^^^ Used and over-abused criticism.
  25. I only saw 1 episode and I thought the guy hosting it was very annoying. He kept interrupting people when they speak and breakin them off. Also, he asked frivolous questions when given an answer....and lastly, they speakers didnt exactly agree on everythin eh?
