I normally try to make it home to a ready made delicious meal ... but at times it so happens I'm on the train. I dont have the habit of carrying food or water so I just stick it out - could be 10-30mins. Hopefully when the clock turns back an hr, I'll do it at work.

She walks in Beauty SHE walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that 's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellow'd to that tender light 5 Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impair'd the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; 10 Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, 15 But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! George Gordon Byron, Lord Byron. 1788–1824

Shehe.. maybe I am..but as u can tell, I'm not as transparent as he is

Sullen, I'm so forgetful and my entire family pokes fun at me. I forgot to wear socks to school one day, I left the cooker on another, and I once forgot my sister in school and got on the bus alone. The only advice I can give you is what the nomads already have. If you make it a point to remember and just give a little bit more importance to an event, you're more likely to register it in your head and remember. Just stop being hasty and going through things routinely without thinking. We often do that and hence cant recall.

You guys are so mean and judgemental! . I almost never pray outside. I miss duhr and Asr prayers almost all the times 'cause I'm in university or working. I find mosques very uncomfortable and dont even go to the one in my university. Of course the fact that im not in proper muslima attire doesnt help. This doesn't mean I dont want to pray, its just dat I want to pray with a peace of mind - at home. Yes, waan qaleeyaa salaada on a regular basis. Go on and roll your eyes some more.

Interesting article. From what I gather, there is to be a uniform call to prayer, all done at the same time, 5 times a day - to reduce noise levels in the city. I think its a practical idea. I used to live in Oman and had 2 mosques next to my house. Once you hear the prayer on one, 5 mins on, the other would call to prayer. Since I could hear one already, I didnt see the point of the repetition. Dont misunderstand me, qof muslim ah ma karaahiyeysankaro eedaanka, laakin loo ma baahna multiple calls to prayer at once. And this happening in a metropolitan city like Cairo, could be quite unneccessary. Rayaana, AND THE FUNNY THING IS EGYPT IS A MUSLIM COUNTRY. This problem can only occur in a muslim country. -

Classique, thanks for the reminder. I've to agree with Aeryn tho. If you spend the entire day thinking about food, its majorly disappointing if the afur table isnt lad with sweets, soups, spicy meat and chicken, samosas....the whole nine yards. We should definitely give more attention to the spiritual aspect of Ramadan, but can we forgo the exceptionally well cooked food? me thinks not. SisSade..that was a brilliant article. I shall try my best to follow it throughout this month.
