  1. Rahima: Loves all Somalis equally & hates qabiilists. Right on!! Mahadsanid macaan - glad to know at least not everyone seems to think i have some hidden agenda.
  2. My advice to you sis, is to not waste your time. Thanks. Advice that will be adhered to this time.
  3. Inaa lilaahi wa inaa ilayhi raajicuun. Allah ha u naxariisto walaal. If it so happens you read this thread sometime in the future remember brother: The Prophet (SAW) taught that three things can continue to help a person even after death; charity which he had given, knowledge which he had taught and prayers on their behalf by a righteous child.

    Where are they?

'DAMN,'is there anyone out there who remembers me at least?!. How can i forget the person who introduced me to this site. Good to see you back Jaber. BTW are you still living on the take out or have progressed since last time.
  5. I realise this is an old post, but just for clarification purposes here are two fatwas- one in particular from Shaykh ibn Baz Rahimuallah: _______________________________________________ Question : Aslamoaliakum. I have been offered a job at a Bank, and I am not sure whether I should work there or not, because the bank makes money from interest (Riba). Please tell me whether working there is allowed (Jaaiz), or not. Answer : Praise be to Allaah. You will find the answer in the hadeeth of Jaabir, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said: "The Messenger of Allaah cursed the one who consumes riba (interest or usury), the one who gives it, the one who writes it down and the one who witnesses it. He said: 'All of them are equal in sin.'" (Reported by Muslim, may Allaah have mercy on him, in his Saheeh, no. 1598) Commenting on this hadeeth, al-Nawawi, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: This is clearly a prohibition of the writing down or witnessing of a contract between the two parties involved in a riba-based deal. It also includes a prohibition of helping others to commit wrong acts. And Allaah knows best. It is inevitable that the employee in a riba-based bank will play a part in riba dealings one way or another, even if he is just a security guard. Maybe Allaah will help you, my brother, if you are patient, to find halaal employment. (Interpretation of the meaning) "… And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty)." [al-Talaaq 65:2] Shaykh al-Barraak (www.islam-qa.com) _______________________________________________ Question: The son of my maternal uncle works for the Bank al-Jazeerah as an employee. So is it permissible for him to work there or not? Please provide us with a fatwa, and may Allaah reward you with good, since we have heard from (some) brothers that it is not permissible to work in a bank. Response: It is not permissible to work in banks which deal with ribaa, because working therein is considered assisting in sin and transgression. Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala) says: {Help you one another in al-Birr and at-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression, and fear Allaah - verily, Allaah is severe in punishment}, [soorah al-Maa.idah, Aayah 2]. And that which is known is that ribaa is classified as amongst the major sins, so it is not permissible to assist those who work with it. And it is authenticated from the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) that he cursed those who ate/benefitted (aakil) from ribaa as well as the one responsible (for the transactions), the one who writes (the transactions) and the witnesses (to the transactions), and he said: ((...they are the same/equal...)), transmitted by Imaam Muslim. Shaykh Ibn Baaz Silsilah Kitaab ad-Da'wah (1), al-Fataawa - Volume 1, Page 142
  6. Beneficial topic! Laa ilaaha ila Allaah means there is no deity WORTHY OF WORSHIP other than ALLAH! As for daleel walaal, im a tad confused, what exactly do you mean for a question like this? Maybe you can give us an example. JZK
  7. Jazaakum Allahu Khayr walaal, great advice indeed! Undoubtedly it is important that Islam is learned by way of discussion but it is the methods of discussion that seem to be amiss here in this forum (as I have noticed). Islam is a completed religion, therefore there is no place for phrases such as “I think…” and “but…(after clear proof has been given)”. One either has daleel (proof) or not. And even for rulings based on Qiyaas and ijtihad- I’m quiet sure no one here is qualified to give any! Therefore I feel we nomads need to stop doing Islam wrong by focusing on proofs rather than or our caql.
  8. Mobb_deep Walaal it’s useless for any nomads to discuss any issue is they have preconceived ideas that blind them and even worse yet do not understand one another. Having said that, allow me to pose a small question to you (since supposedly I am having trouble in understanding what exactly a warlord is); what makes Cabdiqaasim a warlord? And please no propaganda, I am asking for hard core facts here because we can all provide these facts to show Ina Yusuf is indeed a warlord- and one of the most ruthless at that. We can also find facts to prove Caydiid, Morgan, Suudi and Caato are warlords. BTW I have read your post in the thread about the Hargeysa airport and I must say I found you quiet amusing for you don’t bother to fully read and understand but rather jump on the bandwagon of anyone anti-c/yusuf is anti-puntland. Brother, I couldn’t care less about Puntland or any other land for that matter. What I do want however is for the Land of the Somalis to be cleansed of all warlords BUT this does not mean I will commit injustice and deem everyone a warlord simply so that I won’t be accused of double standards- I have standards and plan to adhere to them. As for your accusation against us being qabiilist than once more walaal could you be any more wrong? I happen to be of a tribe who unfortunately has many many warlords to go around, my sub-sub clan has enough on its own and as much as you will be disappointed to hear this (for you so wish to prove your point about me being a tribalist) - I WISH THEY WOULD ALL BURN TO DEATH!
  9. Bari_nomad, ASC walaal. So now being in the highest levels of Afweyn's government(cabinet/Prime Minister) does not harm our nation? Will you be excusing Barre of his war crimes as well? And start calling him 'small fish'? Yet you talk about being 'blind' and 'biased'.... One thing I have difficulty in understanding is the notion that automatically anyone who was part of our previous government is guilty, since when is guilt by association justice  ? If one was to use the argument that why is it that he did not take action against the brutality of the Barre regime, then yes that would be a legitimate argument for silence is a form of agreement. But I ask how do we know what he did, could it be that he was only doing his part to keep a functioning government, for any government is better than anarchy. Since we are Muslims, it is always best that we look at examples from the companions of the blessed prophet scw. Some of you might know of Al-xajaaj ibnu yusuf who would slaughter the companions like animals, yet still the remaining companions worked towards the betterment of the state even though al-xajaaj was part of the government. Therefore, is it correct that we deem guilty the companions who worked by his side even though he was slaughtering other companions? Naturally one would come to the conclusion no, for it does not mean they agreed but rather were taking into account what would be most effective. It was better that they put up with xajaaj rather than create anarchy which would lead to the slaughter of many more people. I think Somalia is a testimony to this, we were far better off before than now and keep in mind this is coming from a person whose family and tribe received a great deal of the brutality. N.B I AM NOT SAYING WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE COUNTRY WAS CORRECT! Fellow brothers, in no way am I comparing cabdiqaasim to the companions for non of us can ever reach their exalted station, however it is best that we adhere to the law of Islam which states innocent until proven guilty. As far as I’m aware I have yet to hear/see/read any credible information which proves that cabdiqaasim has the blood of our people on his hands. However, I am not saying he has not committed any crimes, but what I am saying is that I have yet to see anything which would classify him as a warlord, for I call a warlord (not the only definition) one who discriminates, kills and maims his fellow Somalis based on qabiil- and so far cabdiqaasim has not done so. But if there are proofs that he has committed such heinous sins then yes I take him to be a warlord. I follow no one except Rasuallah blindly-not even my own father. BUT, yes he is wrong to still think he is the leader (but that does not make one a warlord) and yes I was extremely disappointed and angry that he left the talks and discredited them for I believe we first need to get some sort of government and then we can work on its improvement. There is no point in improving something when there is nothing to improve. Furthermore, as much as I despise all the warlords, from Caydiid, to Ina Yusuf, to Jess to Morgan, walaahi if any of them were given the leadership position tomorrow I would support that government. I would support it simply because I believe as bad as it is to have a warlord as the President, it is still better than having no leader. Even if the government that will inshallah be established proves to be a carbon copy of our previous government; I would still accept it in the hope that progressive change will be achieved. Change and reform take time; Rome was not built in a day. Horn, Mahadsanid for the advice walaal , it was well received and as usual I agree fully- however I felt that it was incumbent upon me to explain myself since Bari nomad is not understanding my stance. We don't have to agree but it is important we understand one another.
  10. Muraad spot on Rasulallah s.c.w even used to make duca to Allah to bring into the fold Islam either Camru ibn Hishaam (Abu Jahal) or Cumar ibn Khataab and we all know Allah answered his prayer by having the son of Khattab enter Islam. Therefore there is nothing wrong with wanting influential people to enter the fold of Islam for by the will of Allah they may help to strengthen the dacwa. But of course this does not mean we belittle the average person entering Islam.
  11. SmithNwestern The point i was making - as it seems you missed walaal- was in the big pond of those who have harmed our nation Cabdiqaasim (even if we assumed he has harmed our nation) is a small fish compared to those who you support so blindly. I'm hoping you see my point here. Why don't you be kind enough and post all the atrocious and catastrophic evils Ina Yusuf has caused our country and people. I know it will be a strenuous exercise- considering the damage he has caused is so great- therefore just write 10% of what he has done. I think that in itself might keep you preoccupied for some time- i know it would for me. It's about time we stopped this unproductive bias and started being fair. Let's clean our land of destructive elements beginning with in my opinion Xuseen Caydiid and Cabdulaahi Yusuf- partners in crime who should be judged ASAP.
  12. Entrepreneur I could be wrong about the man for i must admit i do not know a whole lot about him- but judging by his books he just seemed too western to me. But like i said i could and am probably wrong. As for the Somali so-called wadaads yes it is sad for they too have fallen into the decadence of tribalism. But in my books they are not wadaads but rather frauds- the real wadaads are few in number and who i think could turn around the direction of our land and people. And yes Boqolsoon was an amazing human being , inshallah he is in a much better place. May Allah have mercy on him, forgive him of his sins and grant him a position with the blessed prophet Muxammad s.c.w next to the spring of kawthar.
  13. Raxma, you're more than welcome abaayo and yes I agree with you there are just as many Sunnis who give Islam a bad name as Shias but the difference is as I see it is that for the Sunnis there is nothing in our scriptures which justifies there actions but the same cannot be said for the Shias. I mean just look at the mourning that they have for the grandson of Rasuallah, who was killed at Karbala- they go around slashing themselves, they even injure babies. This is complete savagery which they justify with their scriptures (their own hadith books). Therefore, for the intelligent westerner who sees this on television he/she knows that this is part and parcel of their faith but for the Sunni who participates in such similar extremes the same westerner will know they are alone in this and they have no justification. Nonetheless you are right, we shouldn’t point fingers for we have greater issues to deal with. However sister, remember Allah has said the believers are those who amar bin macruuf wa nahya canil munkar (order the good and forbid the evil). Therefore, we do not wave the banner of unity when it is contradiction to the correct caqiidah. We however wave this banner when it comes to all other issues such as the fiqh issues. wa bilaahi tawfiiq
  14. Being Somali for me means helping your fellow Somali irrespective of wether you know them or not. It is because of characteristics like that i am so grateful to Allah for making me Somali- not that i believe we are better than others- I’m just real glad to be Somali
  15. N.Farah maybe an amazing writer but I don’t believe he would be suitable for the leadership position of Somalia. I say this because it is quiet clear the man is too westernized in his ways- his novels are a testimony to this. What we need is a religious man who is not so rigid that he is not in touch with the people. Personally, how I wish Boqolsoon (Rahimuallah) was alive, now he would of have made a perfect president, although I’m sure he would never run for such a position.
  16. Wa iyaakum. And JZK for your further contribution, as always a beneficial posting. The scholars of Islam say that the saxwa or re-awakening of Islam requires both the zeal and enthusiasm of the youth and the knowledge and wisdom of the scholars to guide the youth. So really, walaahi we have a great responsibility on our shoulders and it is through knowledge that we shall achieve it- INSHALLAH!
  17. Mashallah. May Allah make him steadfast in his conviction.
  18. JZK brother, Oh how i love Cuthmaan , he has always been one of my favourite saxaba, most amazing was the degree of his xishood, i mean even the malaaika were shy of him.
  19. I’ve never actually thought of it, but I must say I don’t know how reliable accent is. I mean there are so many different tribes who hail from the same areas and therefore speak in the same manner. Of course there are always exceptions to everything like my father who has your typical reer waqooyi accent (as he was born and raised in Boorama with his reer abti) yet if we speak clan wise we are not from that area.
  20. I can think of others who have gone crazy! Abdiqasin and all who suport him should be ashamed of themselves by far this man is the worst creature ever to enter Somali politics. Worst?? At least he hasn't killed thousands of his own people and isn't an agent of the xabash like some others i can think of. Honestly, i can't believe the double standards of some.
  21. Bari_nomad, Walaal, i too agree with our sister Africa (once more), you are not one of the people i was referring to. If you read my points carefully you would of have noticed that often i used the term "some" which i believe clarifies my point of view. As for these people contradicting themselves, although i did not elaborate let me just give you one example. They often express and cry out that Riyaale and Cabdiqaasim are warlords yet they try to justify Cabdulaahi Yusuf to us? You tell me walaal, is that not a clear contradiction? Ina Yusuf is probably worse than the two combined (that’s assuming there is anything wrong with the other two). As for Samurai, just because we expressed our views in this particular thread it does not mean we do not intend it for others also. Wether these people are from Puntland, Somaliland, Xamar or Kismaayo, the same can be said for them all. Anyway I leave this topic here, just do us all a favour and stop contributing to the sickness of our people. Walaahi we have had enough, let us just be brothers and want the best for one another, maybe then we might achieve peace and be able to return to our sweet land. w/salaam.
  22. African, God bless you sister, that is exactly what i meant. This is the hypocrisy i was speaking of, i too have yet to see any of these people posting anything negative about their own region yet they jump at the chance to post negatives about others. This is basically (for these types of people) a new way of expressing their tribalism wether or not they wish to admit it.
  23. MMA, Nice pics I'm feeling home sick all of a sudden
