girl well said... that is how i see it too. no need to be all voilance with them. i think most of our parents always thought punishing them is the only way to get the kid do what the parents wanted them to do but that is not how it is thou.. and as i learn in my psychology punishing them is never the answer or any way to solve the problem.. but some punishment is needed so the kid to know they did something wrong and they shouldn't do that again. like making them not watch tv or their favorite show, no telephone. or take a way their favorite toys.. but the best way is talking to them.. i know i never listened to my mom atleast i wasn't in to what she was saying.. but the older u get the more u wanna do what ur parent told u coz u feel hey they were right.. my mom should hear me say this coz she thinks it is the western way or raising kids lol .. but that is how i punish my brothers.. it is kinda fun lol .. but yeah no beating them up for the love of god...

i guess we all think different which is good mansha'allah.. in a way it doesn't matter but in other hand it is good to know who u are.... well here is my answer to this q. i would say we are african when u put in country wise becoz we are located in africa.. but if we speaking about blood i would say both.. we mixed... here is my reasons when u look at all the african countries u see dark ppl, nappy hair and etc.. when u see somalians u don't see that. why? well when the arabs were going around they married those african ppl which somalia being one of them. and that is why we look brownish kinda not totally black. and lil hint check the countries that aren't muslim they don't look like the east or north of african countries.. that should tell u lil something.. if any of u guys think i'm wrong prove me coz i would love to see that. but hey i guess u can be whatever makes u happy.. i personaly can't say i'm one or the other coz i'm mixed to this day so i'm both forever.. and about ur mr bacholer why u hating huh lol.. anyways good luck being african or arabs.. but back in yemen when i was there alot of yemenis will tell u somalians are yemeni.. so i don't know yo...

najma dear where u been and who u been talking to.. sis i have nothing against u wallahi. but about the aids well i'm sure some of us do have it one way or the other and the ones who don't they are that way becoz of being good muslim sis.. so it has nothing to do with that.. i think our ppl use to do that becoz they were uneducated. well let me go back to the q now.. well im still wondering where somalis get the idea from first of all. coz as we all know it was something that came from fercon. i mean hello since when do we follow something that was made from that devil guy? :confused: and he did that so the ladies won't sleep around it was mostly for the jewish ladies so they won't sleep around coz it hurts and won't have kids coz as we all know he was afraid one day there will be one child that will destory him.that is lil history of it.. and correct me if i'm wrong here but if i remember correctly in our religion there is not such a thing.. so ppl to feel good about harsh thing is is sad.. and i hope mothers nowadays don't do that to their kids.
