^ What? In that case I'm going to have to be very rude and question your mother's grasp of numbers. I'm older than you by 15 days, mate.

It's been a while since we've had one of these threads. Where are Khayr and the other wadaado? They need to put Marx in his place. *Gets the popcorn out*

I think NG is the oldest person in the General section at 45. Followed by Nuune at 42. I'm younger than both.

Sky refuses to air Gaza aid appeal - no surprise there
Valenteenah. replied to Paragon's topic in General
I saw Mark Thompson, BBC director general, being interviewed on the BBC Breakfast show this morning. His argument for not broadcasting the appeal wasn't very strong. I don't really see a problem with impartiality here. -

^ It's all about the money, dheh. I myself was wondering if any of those lines really work. I wouldn't pay attention to anyone uttering them for certain. -

My first job: what I learned while peeling chickens
Valenteenah. replied to roobleh's topic in General
Roobleh, I've got to admit that sounds like a nightmare of a job. I didn't really get a paid job until I graduated from uni, but I was volunteering from 19 onwards, first at an FGM project in East London doing admin and events then at other Somali groups, charities and NGOs. So although I gained a lot of experience I didn't earn nada (was bankrolled by the bank of mum and dad and student loans). -
Wey u eegtahay. Have a good day.

It was a very moving ceremony. I never even thought it a remote possibility, the likelihood of an African American president.
-
Cool! Are they serving any special presidential dishes?
-
^ Hi Che, well of course, why wouldn't you go to work? It's not like it's a national holiday. There seem to be lots of Obama parties in London too.
-
Belated birthday wishes, Norf. Be like a friend of mine and say 27 whenever someone asks your age.
-
Where is this then, Hargeisa?

Hola amigos! Am planning to leave work at 4pm to make it home for the inauguration, I'A.

He also has genius speech writers? Whatever the case, the man has a way with words. NG:

^^ He's a gifted orator.

^ It's alright, that's what happens when you do international development - they come at you from every direction! I have certainly changed, but it took internal implosion to get there. I'm pretty numb to most things now, but I don't think that's a good thing. From one extreme to the other. Do what you can when you can - that's all you can ask of yourself, I guess.
-
^^Ibti, are you a member of every conflicted group? LoL, you remind me of myself circa 2001.
-
^ LoL, have you trademarked the name Roobleh, then? Short of that you're out of luck. Faarixini, I can't believe anyone fell for someone impersonating you. You're pretty distinctive in how you communicate with people. I mean, who else greets someone with 'What did the gay horse eat?'(Answer: "Hey!")?
