I'm not surprised. How sinful was it watching the Argentinians? The chiseled features, the glossy bouncy hair, the tight toned physiques. Ilaahayow na cafi. I'm only watching unattractive teams from now on, I'A.

Urm, who is Kaki Khamis? I thought you were gonna show us the latest men's wear from Dubai.

Ay, I miss my trolling. Never get the chance these days. Went and lost my phone to boot. Grim.

Sounds like typical teenage antics. I'm of the firm believe that teens should be sent off for national service or at least to boot camp between the ages of 14-19. Beat some discipline into them. Or just beat them. Whatever works.

^ Ha ha. Add 'You are a loser too!' to that.

On a side note, I agree - Children of Men is brilliant. And not only because I am mad about Clive Owen. As for the topic, blah! Go forth and propogate, as they say.

Hi Girls, Hope the event went well. Expect my contribution in whatever account details you PM me, I'A.

Originally posted by NGONGE: I think people are jumping the gun here. Somalis would kiss you at the first opportunity they get. I don't know about the girls, but guys, have you not had a bit of an altercation with a total stranger (Somali) in a maqaaxi and as you jumped around promising to kick his head in, he would apologise and try to kiss your head (and neck) to prove it? Our Taxi driver friend sounds like one of those. I mean it's not like he tried to squeeze her bottom or anything (a pervert's first goal). *Smirks* These taxi drivers must see a lot in their careers. When I was in NZ, there was a poor Somali cab driver who was mugged and beaten by a bunch of women. He was the joke of the town for the whole 3 months I was there.

Yes, you might say I like taking myself out - it's never been a problem or an issue to do things by myself. I've been on extended holidays alone. I often see highly anticipated movies by myself - but this is more down to my dislike of people trying to have conversations or sitting too closely to me at the pictures. I love the crisp air in cinemas and human warmth just spoils it, so even if I do go with family, friends or hubby, I like to put a seat or two between myself and the nearest person. It drives them nuts but hey - that's how I am most comfy. Even at home, I prefer to watch DVDs alone than to partake in family movie-nights (previous attemps have all ended in deadly arguments with remotes and popcorn flying everywhere). For some reason I only ever lose my temper when watching films with others. Running commentary, loud eating noises, fiddling with the volume, constantly rewinding...all drive me insane! Don't get me started on shopping with friends or siblings. I dither over shopping. I'll make the rounds around the store over and over and over again and after an hour leave with nothing. Now doing that sort of thing makes any companion a potential murderer. And me a potential victim. So for my own safety, I MUST shop alone. Probably the only thing I have trouble doing by myself is going to the gym. URG!

Aw..babies!! 10 children and no money. Difficult.

LoL @ Allamagan. That's hilarious!

^ This is why you should never post your age. The years rush past and then it comes back to bite you on the ar$e.

Holy cow! This topic ought to be deleted. Qarxis.com

Sounds like a good idea. I don't think there are many , if any, Somali lang programs. Children learn to speak it in the home but not how to read and write it. Go for it.

These types of threads multiply like crazy. What's the appeal? I couldn't give a kab dacas ah about who marries who or what for that matter. The beauty of life is the range of choices, options and paths open to us.

Ahem....see for yourself. --->

A party is a party. My dirac is ready, JB. What's happening in Belgium?

Chubacka, Phoenix isn't as hot as he once was. Haven't you seen him lately? IsseR, is this an appeal for junk mail? Coz you might just get it.

^ Caqligaan kugu jecelahay. You want me to be caught whilst you get away with the gold. How about we BOTH smash and then grab? Sound fair? Get your jilbaab ready.

A recurring discussion, this. Everytime WD's name comes up, the lines get drawn. Haven't read the book, and judging by the trailer I don't plan to see the film. What's the substance? If Weris' worst problem was sleeping rough, then she had it good. And if it's the FGM, she shares that burden with 97% of Somali females. Is there anything else that this 'survivor' has survived? I think Somalis, as a people, have gone through a hell of a lot in the last 20 years, most of it mind-bogglingly horrific, some of it incredibly inspiring and in the next 50 years these stories, the real stories and the real tragedies, will be coming out Insha'Allah. And THEY would be worth recording.

Wonderful. A smash and grab, anyone?

Thanks for that Nassir. OZ, you know I love the Aussies. They are good people. There's no helping Gordon this morning. He must be outraged. -
Some of it doesn't look right. Not sure where they are getting their stats from. I thought most countries submit their own figures but for Somalia I am guessing they take what the NGOs have recorded?
