  1. Very dapper, your candidate. Don't supporters need to be from Jibouti, though?
  2. Eyda kale tolow miyey leyn donaan mise wey cuni doonaan?
  3. Amiin, BOB. A colossal disaster ayaa ina haysata.
  4. 'Free range' huh? Good to know they let the lactating females roam free. Urg.
  5. *Shakes her fist angrily* Geed hoostii waa in loo fadhiisto Libyans-ka. Right after the Zulus. Allah yarxama masaakiinta.
  6. Allah yarxama. I wonder if there is such a thing as sadness fatigue? I can't stand the endless daily tragedies coming out of our wretched country.
  7. Marwooyin and mudanayaal, what's this about 'enjoying' V. day? We are Somalis and we don't believe in it. The chocolates were bought as part of the weekly shop, nothing special about them.
  8. MMA, good to see you posting again. Sounds like you're enjoying a nice prolonged holiday. Are you planning to migrate?
  9. Sounds like a mess. But where there's smoke, there just might be a fire.
  10. A great initiative for Africa, regardless of who funded it.
  11. Chimera;686223 wrote: Good series of books. I've read all but the most recently published, The Bourne Objective. Ludlum's Covert One series is pretty good too. In fact, I haven't yet read a bad Ludlum book.
  12. Good to see a government actually working for its people.
  13. Can the King really get away with such a violent attack on protesters? I was gobsmacked at the footage.
  14. @ CL. As you like. Alrighty folks, I have enjoyed my break and now I have to go back to fighting HM Revenue and Customs.
  15. Basically they want volunteers and groups to offer the services that councils and agencies now do, so they can save the money. Our council wants to close some library services because no groups came foward to run these services for free. Honestly. What concerns me more is giving so much funds directly to GPs. It's hard enough to get those incompetent doctors to refer you to a specialist when it's not coming out of their pocket, let alone when they have the say-so on how the money is spent.
  16. Serenity, I do love you. But I'm not willing to share the chocolate. CL and NG - We have been witnessing this lame hindi-fied shukaansi for too long. I do believe NG is approaching his min-yaro age. Perhaps something should happen? And soon? Sayid, haye, waad fasaxantahay hadey sidaa tahay. Blessed, they do grow up fast, don't they? Wiilkaa yar intaad eegato afka ka garaac.
  17. Showqi, thanks for the reminder. I'll just go break some eggs in the four corners of the building to keep Nuune's jiniyo out. In fact I think I will even leave out one caramel-centred chocolate bubble outside the door as a sign of good-will.
  18. CL, are you tempted to join the leg-shackled-masses? I wouldn't recommend it myself. The day you sign the dotted line is the day the pressies stop. NG, it's my (fantastical) second. Wyre and Sayid, wax isku fala oo nacnac iyo falawas usoo iibiya dumarkiina.
  19. Roses are red, violets are blue, the sky is green and we are all going to die. Happy valentines day, folks! *Gets back to her box of chocolates*
  20. Forget about proving what qabiil we each are, can we prove we are descended from Arabs as many tribes claim? This is where DNA testing could shred popular legends. *Waves @ BOB* Somali DNA : 80% =E1b1b1a 15% =Caucasian 5% = sub-Saharan African haplotype Somalina, where is this from?
