  2. Morning peeps. Or is it already afternoon? Can't keep up today. JB, yaad u tirisaysaa?
  3. Not for me, it isn't. Why pay 20 quid for a BluRay DVD when I can get a normal one for a quarter of that? Honestly. (Plus I haven't got myself a BluRay DVD Player yet, innit).
  4. Subxanallah. May Allah safeguard dadka masaakiinta ah from duliga iyo dugaaga dul fadhiya.
  5. I haven't heard of JCVD before, but it sounds like a right laugh. Wonder if it's out on DVD?
  6. What a funny man! Kabaha in laga hoos qaado ayey aheyd, just like a masjid.

That's what I thought too until I heard my grandmother left my mother and her siblings after the birth of her 4th child (including the baby) and spent 4 months in another city. My mum and the other children were looked after by their grandmother. Same thing happened with my eedo. She abandoned her family after the birth of her 7th child and came to stay with my dad for a year (she subsequently had another 2). What would you put this down to if not post-natal depression? I think just because they weren't diagnosed doesn't mean lots of women didn't suffer from PND/PPD.
  8. Ayyy, can't watch the videos from my location apparently.
  9. Wham, bam, thank you Van Damme! He's a crap actor, but I love his films (actually watched Hard Target on TV last week). Ain't he a bit too old to fight though?
  10. Funny thread. This sounds like excellent spin from the foreign ministry. Someone is dabbling in real politicking for once. Most of Africa can't afford to repatriate their nationals, let alone Somalia/land. Although I must say it would be a great blow for those who took on the expense and danger of Tahriib and made it to Libya to be returned to Sudan, adding months/years and thousands of dollars they can ill afford to their subsequent journey. Ilaahay ha u fududeeyo.
  11. 10 years is nothing. Only technology will change. Maybe next century, Insha'Allah.
  12. Families: can't live with them, can't live without them. Islamically the family don't have a valid reason to reject you. It should be the daughter's choice as to who to marry. I say elope.
  13. Well, I will agree with you on this much: it IS easy to talk from the West, in our comfortable houses. The TFG have shown themselves to be politically weak and inept, but AS have shown themselves to be uncompromisingly blood-thirsty. I don't know if the TFG can win this fight despite their foreign support or if they will be any better for the people in the long term. But this much is somewhat certain: there will be no respite for the poor people of Somalia as long as the Shabaabs are roaming around free, meting out false justice and punishments and using Islam as a bloody sword rather than a balm to soothe their pain.
  14. LoL...yes, it seems hungurigu trumps both love and fear in Somalia. Who should you support? It's simple. Looking objectively at the situation in Southern Somalia and taking in the recent history (laying aside the propaganda from both sides), in your heart who do you believe is truly better for the Somali people?
  15. Damn. That was my fear all along. I still want them. There's something very pretty and yet regal about camels.
  16. You know what the funny thing is? The only thing that separates these groups (TFG, SHABAAB) is the garments they wear. Nothing else. Sharif was the one leading the jihad against the Ethiopians a few years ago and now he's literally their puppet. Maxaa is bedeley? Dharkiisa uun. Do you really think Al-Shabaab are any different? You think they truly believe in the crap they sell? If the shabaab leadership had the slightest chance to pretend-play at being president and cabinet, the dusty khamiisyo will be history. And the animosity towards the 'gaalo' will change to walaaltinimo in a nano-second. Everyone is playing a waiting game for their chance to the chair. And the only real losers are the Somali people.
  17. That's pretty expensive actually. Good blog btw, MMA. Hope your family are doing well.
  18. Aw, cute story. The unending Somali love affair with camels. I'm expecting to get my own herd soon - 25 she-camels, I'A. Not sure who should look after them for me though. Waxaan ka baqayaa in la iga cuno. :(
  19. Sheekoy sheeko, sheeko xariir ah.... Kampala intaan ku soo gaalownay ayaan Dhuusomareeb ku soo noqonay miyaa sheekadu? Hmm. (Shabaab doesn't need you to be Christian to kill you, this much is clear.)
  20. Hotel Rwanda was another one. Made me wince, it did.
  21. Ayayaa...so much finger pointing. AL Shabaab are hell-bound, I hope. Si uun bey inoo dhaafayaan, like all the others before them. What concerns me is what will spring up in their place? Every time one horrific group passes, something 10 times worse arrives. Ilaahay ha inaga badbaadiyo wax walboo xun oo usoo socda dadkeena iyo dalkeena. Amiin
  22. I haven't read the article. Are they banned from reporting from the area or something else?
