  1. Because I am thinking that you have more Soul than I might have given you credit for. Wink wink.
  2. Very positive developments. And you gotta love the name Ximan iyo Xeeb, it conjures up a fantastic panaroma.
  3. ^ I can attest to Cara's Non-Somalinimo. Waa Oromo gabadhaasi. There's no enemy in the Somali World, Layzie. There's just ignorance, incompetence and too much passion with a dash of medium buufis. If I find myself alone and in need in any city in this big bad world, I would go searching for a Somali, any Somali. Because I know and you know and any Somali knows, you only need to find a Somali, any Somali and they will drop everything for you and help you to the best of their ability. That's all I need to know to maintain my perspective.

In London, they are the most hated immigrant group and for good reason. they contribute to nothing but hordes of burqa wearing women are walk around towns, with mobile phones stuck to their headcover, with their trademark size 15 military boots they call shoes and clothes that resemble that friendly ghost 'Casper'. They stand around, so they can eye and ogle, every man that walks by. They truly sicken me. Nothing would please me than to see them simply picked up and liquidated. Sick beings. Sounds like a serious case of self-hate. The casper ladies iska ilow oo taada ka adkow walaaley.
  5. The voice changer theory is a nice one - imagine the havoc it could wreak. If the contents of the tapes were made up, surely they would be more damning? These were positively polite when compared to the Cafe Ku Dirir discussions that take place across the Diaspora bacdal Duhur every Friday. Wax xun ama wax laga yaabo ama wax laga naxo toona odayaashu mey ku hadlin, just the same ol' Somali Clan politicking. Only issue and embarrassment was the ease of access and, I suppose, the lack of caution.

  8. 'Ana yaa ustaad' ayaan odhan jirey in grade school (my early schooling was in carabi). Jokes aside, I don't follow any grammatical rules in my spoken or written Somali (except for the masculine/feminine rule of course), however, I do believe I speak and write with perfect grammar. Weird.
  9. If this is true, then it shows 3 things: 1. The guy who planned and executed the expose should really be snapped up and paid a salary (what a clever clogs), then there might actually be something resembling an 'SSC Sirdoon' agency. Plus, from his approach and questioning, doesn't he sound like a trained journalist (education IS good for something after all...)? 2. The influence and access of diaspora-dwelling 'community, i.e. Clan' representatives on and to events on the ground is a great deal more than I ever expected. I mean how worrying is it that a random faarax in Miami can call the 'president' and be privy to the administration's thoughts and activities? That must mean than every Faarax can do the same if they are so inclined - and the leaders wouldn't mind, as long as they are tol or of the clan. And let's not kid ourselves here because probably the same thing happens with the SSC and Puntland maamul. Honestly, if I thought it would be that easy to ring up Mr Xaglatoosiye and have a sincere chat about what they are doing wrong and what they are doing right, I would have been on the blower six months ago. 3. Whatever propaganda we hear and whatever cooked-up articles we read, the truth is: Somalis know each other very very well. Who here would be surprised if this is all true? Imean, it sounds perfectly logical and conforms to what we think on both sides of the line. After all, everyone knows exactly how all the Northern clans feel about each other and the fact they don't trust each other as far as they can throw each other is hardly hidden. Except now the distrust and animus is reaching boiling point.
  10. Waryaadheheen, afkiina xun ee qalooca ka jeediya Jamhuuriyada Maydhan ee Somaliland. Ma gaadhi kartaan, mana taaban kartaan, mana tirtiri kartaan. Markaa dib u fadhiista oo candhuuftiina dib u liqa waayo sikastaba waa la idinka horeeya magarateen. Maalinta la isasoo gaadho ayaa la wada hadli doonaa, haduu Alle idmo. Maqla oo qorta oo ursada. Waa idinkaa. Now before you ask, Van, I identify myself as 45% confederate, 45% unionist (should this topic have been about the TFG you would have received the same response except in that case the title would have been the Jamhuuriyada Dhimokaraatika ee Villa Somalia, nothing but fair me) and 10% Tamil Tiger (I have Sri Lankan roots so must represent my biibol).
  11. Maxaad uga jeedaa 'Af Soomaliga hodan baan ka ama ku ahay'? Afka ma shaleytaad soo baratay? Oh ok ok, am pulling your chain. Yacni silsiladaadaan jiidayaa. PS: There is no grammar in Somali - anything goes. Markaa, sidaad doonto ugu hadal.

  17. Take it easy CD. You're being needled because you're responding to the needling. As you've said, you've sought religious opinion and you're gonna take another crack at the parents. Alright then. What's the problem? If it's the general Somali opinion you see here, you ought to know we can be pretty racist to Non-Somalis. If you marry into the community this is something you'll be facing at some point if not most of the time. You need to get used to it and stop getting hot under the collar. Somalis are not the only culturalists, most Muslim societies are whether we like it or not.
