Well done to him. I've been completely out of the loop last couple of months, but was hoping Sharif didn't get back in. May Allah make this new government one that leads Somalia out of the darkness and into the bright sunshine. Amiin.

That's so cute!

Lol....Brooker is awesome.

That's the normal annoyances that come with sisters, Narniah. Just create a secret hiding place - I had one for expensive clothes, bags and perfume that I didn't want to share. Of course you're going to need to move your hiding place around. I remember I used to use my dad's wardrobe for my hiding place, until I discovered it was my mum's hiding place for jewellery. Ha ha. It's fun growing up with a bunch of girls.

Lol, this the funniest thread I've seen in a while.

Somali President Inspects Currency Printing Options
Valenteenah. replied to DoctorKenney's topic in Politics
That seems to be our very sad reality, Dr Kenney. Do we know what this new money looks like? Any pictures? -
NG, I understand you now. And as much as I appreciate being thought of as intelligent, am not interested in publishing my opinions in the Somali media. LoL. I might share my views here and there on SOL but an earnest political analyst I am not, unlike Abtigis. He has a real gift that one and I refuse to belief he's either Marwa or Dahabo. Don't play with my mind! AYOUB, Kaalay do you think I have ready-made answers in my pocket? I don't know... As far as I can see, this issue of shared land and scarce resources is as much an issue for SL as it is for KH. The only path to resolution I see is one facilitated by the madax-dhaqameed and residents of the shared cities and towns. Some sort of an accord that's fair, balanced and accepted by the people who live together in those areas. As for the territories that are not shared and belong to Khatumo, I do believe that is theirs to do with as they please.

Always thought it was easier for men to shift extra weight, they do burn calories just by breathing or so I've read in Mags.

Salaam and jimce wanaagsan everyone. Caku Maaddeey, he made me start with habaar iyo xanaaq. Hi Juxa, hope your enjoying your time off. PS: Juxa, am back home now but was in London a couple of weeks ago.

LoL, you do realise 2030 is only 18 years away. Maxaad u dishay poor Sheikh Sharif? He would only be in his late fifties or early 60s by then haduu Ilaahay gaadhsiiyo. Waxaad u hadlaysay siday 100 sano inaga xigto.

LoL Well am off, goodnight all.

AYOUB;848106 wrote: Val inabti, Khatumo2 might be 6 months old but that's part of predicament. There was Khatumo1, SSC, Khususi, Darwishland etc etc. Not long ago most if not all supporters of this faction were embedded with pirates. The 6 months leadership term of this movement says it all. By January, Aaliyah might be telling us "Galaydh is just an individual". Ayoub, yup, there's been quite a few changes, but all of it has occurred over the last two and a half years. The SSC and Khusuusi were formed in the same meeting in Nairobi a couple of years ago and the Khatumo meetings started last year following a lot of frustrating and haphazard activities. It's been a process of refining, if one looks at it that way. However there's no denying there are real problems but those problems require time to be resolved. I can't say whether Khatumo will still exist in a year's time or will be replaced by something else, Ilaahay uun baa og, I also don't know if all of these issues will be resolved in the next few years or at all - what is clear to me though is that the population fully supports Khatumo and that's good enough for me for now.

That's so not necessary, Che. No one deserves to hear you sing, a torture tactic only second to waterboarding.

Meeshan caawa waa la is haystaa, ma istidhi. Serenity, aw sorry. I promise to keep our appointment this weekend I'A. Hi Ibti, good to see ya around. I'm so far from lovey dovey btw, but if I were to advise on that situation, I would urge Chimera to be decisive and chain himself to his girl quickly. *Waves back at Juxa* Sleeping at this time, hope you're OK? Happy Red, Blue and White day to you, Che.

Freeman - Kenya is an Okay country but I wouldn't want to emulate their system. Just as I dislike oppression and dictatorship, I 'm not a fan of secularism either. I think the middle road is always the best, if that makes sense. Nudawn, I agree with your thoughts. Somalia in the 70s and 80s used to take in a lot of displaced or exiled Ethiopians/Eritreans and Somalis used to look after them. I remember for a period in Xamar we had Ethiopian students living with us who had fled their country in the late 80s following the student uprisings. So in that regard, I think Somalis are very kind to the helpless and downtrodden.

NGONGE;847967 wrote: What if SL gives up and decides to cut its losses with anything Khaatumo? How long before a disgruntled Khatumite runs back to Siilaanyo because those back in Taleex refused him a job he had his eyes on? There has to be a plan that goes beyond SL; the crazy Al Shabab have their plans for Somalia if they should ever win, the ONLF have their plans for their part of the world should they ever win and SL itself has set up its own plans for the time when its recognised. What is Khaatumo doing? Where is it heading? And where are those that should be informing all its supporters of the dream, visions and ideas for the future of Khaatumo? NG, those are all good questions that are worth asking and answering, but we just need a little perspective. I've highlighted the above quote from you just to show where the problem lies: ONLF is 28 years old this year. SL is 21 years old this year. Puntland is 14 years old this year. Alshabaab is 6 years old in its current form. Khaatumo is 6 months old. Shacabka Khatumo can be resourceful and efficient when pressure is applied, but they are not miracle workers. Tangible change, progress and outcomes all take time. What Khatumo has managed to affect though is the populations' imagination. That's where they've really delivered in the last six months. The people are clued up now and unfortunately for Xagla-Toosiye, they are chomping at the bits for people like him. Magaciisii iyo sharaftiisaba wuu ku ciyaaray because unlike previous years cidina ma cafinayso mana caawinayso. You should see and hear what's being said of him. And I think this may be what you are looking for NG, some sort of punishment that will prevent the turncoats from acting on their instincts in the future. It looks like shacabku will be that mechanism if things carry on they way they are going.

I don't think religious equality can be forced on to a Muslim State. Don't get me wrong, people of other nationalities and other religions can live and do business in Somalia comfortably, just as so many are doing now in places like Muqdishu and Hargeysa, and so many did previously. And once peace is restored, the conditions will be even better. However the issue is what kind of religious freedom is being dictated? The kind where missionaries are free to do their business and athiests can spout their 'I was blind and now I can see' speeches? (LoL...couldn't help that dig). No, I'm afraid Somalia isn't the type of country and Somalis aren't the type of people laga faaideysankaro by missionaries et al sida Africa inteeda kale. Gaal diin kale faafinaya inuu Somalia ku badbaadayo uma maleenayo, taasii waa habeenkii xalay ahayoo tagay. Ka u horeeya uu ku tijaabiyo ayaa xabad ku dhufanaya - case in point, look at Sharmarke451 above already ready to kill at the mere mention of leaving the fold. Eesh calaa. Furthermore even in the 'free and fair' European countries, religious freedom and/or equality is somewhat restricted, i.e. you'll never hear the Eedaan in Europe, add to that banning of the hijab in some countries and previous campaigns to ban mosque building in others. The contitution is a Somali affair and it needs to fit the country, the people and the environement of Somalia. Mida kale, dhibaatooyinka dalka iyo shacabka haysta marka la eego, tani maba soo galayso, waayo basic needskii iyo basic rights-kii kaleba ma jiraan weli. Once there's a strong state and governance structure throughout the country, then something can be put in place to safeguard the rights of the People of the Book as Islam instructs. Imika meesha cidkasta waxay rabtaa inay ka faaidaysato wakhtigan isbedelka culus uu socdo, si gabo gabo inta wax walba lagu qabto hadhowna madaxa gacanta la saaro.
