Aw, I'm sure Dahabo will adapt very quickly to school, Insha'Allah. She's bright one, M'A.

I want to know Sayid, who made you Qardho's guardian?

Faarax, what's with isku-dirka? I didn't mean it so, I was in fact informing NG that often people with the gift of reaching lofty heights, such as those visionaries who always see the bigger picture have trouble with the small details and vice versa. OdaySomali;721394 wrote: Thanks Valenteenah, that must be it. Nice name btw, does it mean anything? It's Latin, Google informs me, and means "strong". So let me try to answer some of your questions: what would you like to achieve in your life time? At a basic level, I would like to live a good life, both spiritually and materially, God willing. In terms of goals, I have some - both big and small. I've already ticked some off my list, which makes me happy. Others I have yet to achieve and God knows if I will. What do you want to contribute to this world? Whatever I can (which is probably nothing!). I'm human and vain enough to want to leave a legacy behind. But what? And will it matter 30 or 100 or 500 years from now? At the moment I think the only real contribution I could make is to produce some exceptional children who will be able to do great things, Insha'Allah (that's me handing the baton on). At what point would you think you would be content with where you are? I'm fairly content now. I have my health, my mind and my lovely family, Alhamdulilaah. Anything extra is a bonus. Should everyone strive to achieve great things or is it o.k to be ordinary? (if there is such a thing) Yes to both. I certainly would like to achieve something amazing but it's OK if I don't. Am happy to disappear in the background as well.

Last year's bunch were more lively definitely - the women were crazy and Bagsy was a ball of fun! This bunch are a lot quieter, except for Melody "I've been trained by the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu and Al Gore" Hossaini - she's got a gob on her! I also like the new prize. So far, Jim Eastwood, the Irishman, and Tom Pellereau, the inventor, are my current favourites. The girls haven't made much of an impression except for Edna with her weird presentation style.

LoL...aah, well there's a lot to be embarrassed for and about in this section, that's for sure. But those two individuals you mentioned seem to hold their own when it comes to their political beliefs, so I can't help you there.

^ Wow. She sounds like a powerhouse. Masha'Allah.

^ That question will definitely come up. It does in every thread. Idinka waad qosleysaan but I genuinely worry about the boy when I read some of his posts.

Money, after qabiil, of course, is the lifeblood of Somalis. I get shocked when I see islaamo who manage, through hagbad, to extract savings of £5-10k from their humble caydh. Outstanding walaahi. Could the pressure and weight of supporting so many family members back home be what forces most people to try and make as much money as possible?

AO always sounds so worried about SSC. Ilaahay niyada ha u dajiyo.

From the responses in this thread, if a referendum on secession was undertaken today in NW Somalia, another civil war would probably breakout in the area regardless of the result.

How about you, Q-town guri ma ka dhisatay weli? Mise you've been remiss in your duties?

I think it happens to a lot of people. Impotent rage at the injustice and suffering in this world. I went through a phase like that too. It's akin to emotional burnout.

What can't you believe, Sayid? That nobody mentioned Qardho? HA HA

Hmmm....I don't know. I grew up in Muqdishu and loved it but can it ever recapture its magic? Buuhoodle has a permanent place in my heart but any property I build there will probably be taken over by relatives as it's happened before to my cousins and uncles (demanding lot, my relatives, bless them). Garoowe has peaked my interest since I saw gorgeous pictures of the city on SOL And Berbera, my mum's hometown, with its extreme heat and sandy beaches could be a contender. But in the end, I'll probably settle for Kismaayo - everyone seems to be obsessed with it, so there must be something in the water there.

Malika, miyaad ogtahay in odayaashu iyo islaamuhu imika yihiin the only people in wadankii to have guaranteed income from their children and grandchildren from abroad? These young ladies might actually know what they are doing. Nin lixdiisa lixaad leh oo aan waxba haysan yaa bil walba biilinaya? An elderly gentleman with red gadh and tons of grandchildren abroad, on the other hand, will be kept in good form and wey ku hoos hadhsan kartaa. About student marriages, I honestly don't know if I could have had the patience I have now when I was younger - husbands can be very taxing sometimes but they are also really good for de-stressing. If I had my faarax back then, I might have even done better in my studies! He handles my schitzo episodes, when I try to tear my hair out and scream 'I can't deal with this shit anymore' until am blue in the face, rather grandly. But as they say, hindsight is a b1tch.

This cleaning campaign has spread so far so quickly. Honestly charity campaigners could learn a thing or two from those who came up with and promoted the idea. -
Bosaso, Puntland Somalia: Business Expo: PICS

Looks like an excellent undertaking. I'm seriously impressed with the range of commerce evidenced in just that one expo. Helluva money to be made there, ey? -
