I'm in half a mind to delete the whole damn thread.  Why dont you stay in your boxy house and cook and clean for yourself? HuH? Well?? Ya...I thought so....BLOODY TROLL! LoL @ Gediid, Hey, we are only here on this earth to look good. The rest matters little. LIQAYE, And who gave you permission to speak? *muttering to herself*...someone needs to wipe these faaraxs from the face of the planet
  2. Sareedo, Dont touch that Diana creme or your skin will be messed up for life. Your better off with a 'lil acne than zebra-style stripes across your face (am exaggerating a lil here, but I hope u get the point). I repeat DONT DO IT for the love of God!
  3. LoL...CUTE stories... Erm...I dont know the whole story of how my parents met (my dad is a joka..I neva kno whether he's being serious or not when he tells the story), but from what I gleaned from random conversations over the years, it goes something like this -----> Date: Late 1970s... Mum: A beautiful, precarious and slighly-wild 23-year-old newly-qualified nurse...picture the huge soft afro, kohl-smudged eyes and them psychedelic dresses they used to wear back then (the pictures still make me go  ). Dad: A reserved, conservative 29-year-old doctor new to the country after spending the better part of his life in Russia. He never had a chance... They met in Jawhar on some government project, and proceeded to fall in love, then my father's family contacted my mother's, and like any other sale, a deal was hammered out, the goods were exchanged and they were married a month later. Do you want me to tell yall about the wedding too? (Oh how much I wish I still had the pictures...I lost them in Kismayo during qaxii.. ) Well, it was very simple...neither of my parents are fussy ppl (thats where I get it from ). My grandma and great-grandma made the dress (a simple white off-the-shoulder silk dress). Mum had part of her hair clipped back with a flower and the rest free-flowing. Dad wore a light-blue suit with his usual afro. They looked really cute together. Or in the words of Qaxooti Kombuter Heshay they were a BARFACT KAPUL! Alhamdulilaah they are still happily married 26 years later. Mansha'Allah... Now lets all say 'aaaahhhhh' together. 7 Steps 2 wherever and King_450, Its fine if u dont want to answer...just dont spoil it for da rest of us eh? Khayr, Now that you have all these stories, wanna tell us what you want from them? Let me guess... How many of us have gaalo for parents?...No? Ok...erm...how many ppl were doing the dirty deed back in the 1960s and 70s?...No? Well, shucks...what could you be looking for then?
  4. LoL @ all of you! NGONGE, But seriously, and this is for the guys, marry them young, brothers. The age has its advantages. For a start, they’ll be able to “churn” out lots and lots of kids for you before their biological clock finally runs out of battery. When you’re an old man, you’ll still be able to look across at your wife and marvel at how young and full of life she is (that’s if you don’t drain the life out of her with extreme farax acts). But the best thing of all is the great opportunity you’ll be presented with to mould a young mind to your (obviously correct) way of thinking. So, a woman and a man who are perfectly equal in every aspect of their life and personality are bound to clash in their haste to assume leadership. If she’s your age, has the same level of education as you and thinks in exactly the same way as you do, you’ll want to lead her (or, as is the case with most women, she’ll want to lead you – I realise I’m being borderline sexist here..erm, sue me, darling). LoL...AHH! No need for the posturing, I got you made Mister. You are nothing but a cradle-snatcher...a pushchair bandit if you please...a nursery burglar to be more specific! Shame on YOU! Talking of cradle-snatching, erm, has anyone else noticed how much 'lil Bow Wow has grown up? Not so 'lil' anymore eh? wink wink, nudge nudge... I think am developing a serious crush! How old is he anyway? 15? 16? Man, if ONLY I was 8 years younger again! I can definitely understand Hibo's penchant for younger men...erm...boys I mean.
  5. LoL @ OG girl...long list. Do u collect perfumes or something? Unfortunately, I havent bought any new fragrances for a while. I'm not too adventurous with new scents. I usually stick to Flower by Kenzo or Gucci Envy...my all time fave scents.
  6. ..Be positive...be positive...be positive.. Are there any good men out there? Of course there are. Do women really generalize all men based upon a few relationships gone awry? Well, to say 'yes' would be to generalise all women too, wouldn't it? Oh the complexities of it all!
  7. That was the most romantic thing I have read in a very long time. I wouldn't mind marrying Xaliimo Faarax either (minus the freaky biz u understand). Just imagine it...having my own personal slave! That's the life.
  8. Juxa, Good to have you back. I had about called off the search! Xagaad ku maqneed baad tidhi? Travelling? Where to? Hopefully not to CAMBODIA... Warka soo tuur! PS: missed ya like crazy.

That's sacred territory. You boys dont wanna go there.

  11. ^^ Waxaan u maleynayaa inuu NGONGE already 'hal' haysto. No need for u to post him one. Tuujiye, Why is the sky blue? Why do I always miss the video I want to see when its shown on MTVbase? Why do every pair of shoes I purchase cut me? Why am I not answering your questions nicely? Why? Why? Why? I dont kno. Really. I dont.
  12. Some less-than-clever faaraxs believe saying 'I LOOF U' will give 'em free access to a girl's panties. I would suggest your friend show that imbecile the door. Two n a half weeks!....very strange!
  13. LoL @ 'Do sol members date?'! Who's a nosy parker then? This is off-topic but speaking of dates has got me craving some (timir that is for the less-speedy among you). I think I will go raid the cupboard now... PS: Salafi...shame on u, man. Checkmate... Waryaa, pick on someone ur own size, u big bully. Inanta amaan sii.
  14. Daraawiish forces? Ba'a..ur mistaken, those girls are part of the AFM (ANTI-FAARAX MOVEMENT) troops. Duh! LoL @ LST. Ayoub...dont I look sexy? Damn...I LUV big guns! Seriously tho, that's a terrifying picture. Its bad enough we have male soldiers, we defnitely dont need to militarise the women too. NO WAR! NO ARMS! NO MILITARY! Let's give peace a chance. Nobody mess up my daydream please.

  18. Sumeya, Congratulation on your new baby boy. I think its probably natural to be confused at this stage, since it's ur first child. Your probably not used to staying at home for long periods of time. And to make things worse, child-care costs are out of this world nowadays, so u might be forced to stay at home for much longer. Unless your husband is loaded and can provide a nanny for ya. LoL..nice dream, eh? I think Nova gave you some great suggestions. If being stuck at home is really getting on ur nerves, you might want to make some personal time for yourself. For example when ur hubby is at home in the evenings, you could leave the baby with him and go to your local gym (they usually have body-conditioning classes for new mothers). The execise will probably be good for both your mind and body. You havent said whether you have any family living near you. If you are very interested in getting back to work, it might be a good idea to ask if one of them can look after your child once or twice a week (or maybe even full-time), so u can look for a part-time job. There are a lot of flexible jobs around, (such as job-share positions) which are suitable for ppl who cant work the standard full day/week. The women in my family usually get back to work once their maternity leave is up, but thats only because we are a huge family and there's usually someone available to babysit. So it can be done if you have the necessary support. Personally, I would choose to stay at home and look after my child myself, for the first year at the very least (the first 5 years are the most crucial in a child's mental, emotional and physical development). That is unless we're experiencing financial difficulties. Then my dear hooyo will have to come to the rescue and bring up her grandchild...while I get back into the rat race.
  19. LoL @ 7/9! [EDIT] Seven, Your fellow sci-fi fan has arrived! How do u like my new uniform? *Proudly shows off her leather peacekeeper uniform*
  20. Oh...she looks so young! I pray to Allah that she's safe, wherever she might be. Amiin. SW, wouldn't this have been better in the General section? That way, more ppl would be able to see it. Maybe one of the mods could move it?
  21. Emmy...You are right to a certain extent. It wouldn't be a good idea to view the whole country and its population from a single perspective. However, I find it a little hard to get past the livestock issue. Providing books, mosques and teachers is all well and good, however, it wont feed the hundreds of thousands of nomad families who relied on earnings from those exports. Those of us in the diaspora cant sustain a whole frigging country. Its hard enough to send money to immediate family only. Also, not everyone has someone who can send them money. So, its an issue of life and death as far as I am concerned. Then again, Ilaahay baa wax bixiya, and Somalis have always lived in harsh conditions. Hopefully they will survive. That, however, does not make me view Arabs in a positive light. NGONGE, Of course, if the animals are diseased, no country would want to buy them, however, those states still refused to remove the ban after the disease had been eradicated. I remember reading about the UN giving Somali goats and sheep the all clear. So, tell me, what reason was there for the prolonged ban? I think its less to do with business and public health, and more to do with the Arab need to incessantly kiss white behinds (I repeat Australia and New Zealand...what's wrong with all the other countries who export livestock? ). Also, since you ask, yes...I think the Saudis were doing it out of spite. Now, I'm not saying we, as Somalis, are not to blame for the predicament we find ourselves in. But I refuse to absolve those countries of their part of the blame either. I suspect we can argue about this till the camels come home, so lets just agree to disagree.

Nova..qumayo! Biyo iyo saliid kulahaa! Akhas. Actually, I was one of those girls who's hair had to be perfectly curled or blow-dried all the time. I even used to sleep with rollers sometimes, so they would be extra-wavy in the morning...lol. I dont know where I used to get the energy from, coz I can hardly be bothered to comb them nowadays, let alone blow-dry n straighten them.
  23. Always, Ok. Lemme go check my inbox...
  24. NGONGE, What bull! I believe we have a legitimate reason to hate Arabs (specially Saudis) if we so please, thank you very much. Altho, I dont care much about the other reasons Somalis may dislike Arabs, I think they are more than entitled to be against them when it comes to the issue of Saudia Arabia's embargo on Somali livestock exports or.."The Saudis refuse to buy a few sick goats" as you so flippantly put it. (I feel like hitting u over the head with my shoe   ). Aside from remittances from the diaspora, the biggest and almost only foreign exchange earnings into the country (and especially into the North) is from exports of livestock. Take this away and it paralyses whatever of an economy we had left. Granted, there was a disease outbreak not too long ago which caused the Gulf States to ban livestock imports and look elsewhere, however, they still refused to lift the ban even when the disease had been eradicated. What are the people suppose to do when they cant sell the only thing they have to sell? How are they suppose to feed themselves and their families? Are they not suppose to be angry about losing their only livelihood? Especially when the countries doing this to them are suppose to be fellow Muslims (who would rather import from countries like Australia and New Zealand)? But as QQ's question wasn't about economics, this is all besides the point. As for Somali Arabs, well, there isnt much for me to say about them. I havent met enough of them to form an opinion. The only reason I replied was because I was so incensed by ur oh-so-casual comments. Have a bloody day!
