  1. I dont get embarrassed easily, but this topic completely repulsed me! There are some things which just shouldn't be discussed in the light of day! Ewwwww! He's out...OUT! On a side note...why dont the doctors or midwives cut the umbilical cord instead of the new mother's husband/relative?
  2. Originally posted by Northerner: Wearing a pink shirt with red tie ^ Tres chic! I dont like pink myself, but I do think it suits some guys perfectly. Usually depends on the shade, the wearer's complexion and the style its worn in. For example: My father has several grey suits..which he used to wear with boring-coloured shirts and ties...until I appointed myself as his fashion advisor. A few pinkish shirts, some silvery-pinkish ties and Bob's your uncle! Now, I do admit, it took some hard work on my part to persuade him to wear the shirts, but after a while even he could see how well the colours worked together and how fantastic he looked. My advice to the anti-pink people: "Don't knock it till you try it".
  3. Congrats to all the 2004 graduates. Insha'Allah their education and hardwork will take them far. I didnt see any female grads...weren't there any? Mise they just didnt pose for the pictures? Or should I go get my specs?
  4. Salaamz, And Yes, I'm right about my OBSERVATION, it is the LADIES that SCREAM the most and yeah, ADMIN. leans towards them more. I've seen it happen a few times! I wonder if Admin would also be good enough to give KHAYR his own section? Just so I wouldnt be forced to read his posts amid normal threads. For some reason, I get a burning desire to beat him severely with a stick everytime I see one of his charmingly obtuse comments. Back to the topic: An Af-Somali section would be a brilliant addition to SOL for two reasons; 1) it would be educational for most of us and 2) it would get the Baro clan out of our hair. Now how can anyone possibly see it as a bad move?
  5. Wa Salaam Golden Girl.
  6. Buumaayee, Obviously, these beautiful Somali queens aad ka haleysid arent doing their job well coz ur still around hearty and healthy. A state that should be rectified immediately.

  8. Shoobaro, Aladin, flying carpets, talking fish and a yellow sea? Hmmm...I like ur dream. There's a sense of real innocence about it. LoL @ XU...ka daroo dibi dhal!
  9. ^^Are you saying am too old to try some E? NGONGE, am I to take it your still a kid at heart? Then again, I should have guessed. LoL @ Rahima...erm, what does that mean exactly? Girl or woman? Many thanks for the responses, am just a little anxious at the fact that I seem to be the odd one out here...I dont think I have ever consciously thought of myself as a woman! Except for the few occasions I deign to dress myself in a dirac (then I do feel very womanly). I cant seem to shake the morose little girl I used to be though...or maybe I just dont want to? There's a thought! Kat n Scorpion, It does seem to be all about self-perception, doesn't it? Both my younger sisters consider themselves as women, albeit young women (revolting phrase  ). Sue, To be honest I think I’m more lost and confused now then I was when I was younger, at least back then everything was straight forward and as clear as crystal. Now everything is distorted and unnecessarily confused and complicated. Sometimes I wish I could return to the good old days when growing older was a far away wishful dream made of happy ideals and promises of a better life. But now it’s a disappointing muddy ditch that you’re trying desperately to crawl out of, but only to find yourself slipping further and getting stained and filthier on the way. And they say it’s supposed to be the prime of your life! Don’t get me wrong there are good days when you stop struggling to get out and look up to admire sky when it’s not dark stormy and raining. Precisely. Thats exactly how I feel. I have changed somewhat since i was 14/15...but in many ways I havent really changed. I feel more confident as an adult, more capable, less shy and a lil more comfortable in my own body, but thats about it. Everything else feels the same. So is that it? Thats all it takes to become a woman? No radical changes? No superior inner knowledge? Nothing? Refomer: even though I concider my-self as a mature woman now...I dont think im still mature enough to become some ones wife to be frank with you. give me couple of years....then i can handle the maskax xanuun oo nagala maqan yahay guurka Reformer, I find it interesting you should say that, because I pesonally think being ready to take on marriage is the surest sign of maturity...wouldn't you say? Now that I come to think of it actually, I am sure one of the main reasons I refuse to acknowledge myself as a woman is because I don't quite feel ready to get married yet. Raula n Juxa, LoL...I know you guys were habro even as babies. Boolbaro n Qacbaro, Since u didnt answer, do you ladies consider yourselves girls or women?
  10. LoL @ Sue... Dont worry about it dear. C'est la vie! I agree with you on the racism bit...its quite ugly. But what are you to do with such ppl? Tape their mouths shut?...hmmm, not a bad idea.
  11. At the rate Snet refugees are filing in, we might have to set up a refugee camp for them! Anyways, wlc to the new qaxooti.
  12. OHH! And here I thought u were asking me out. Yes, I have heard that dates have huge benefits, but I didnt realise they were that good for pregnancies. Ta for the article.
  13. Sisters, So, you have finally grown up. The world is now your overly large oyster. You are supposed to take the reigns of your life firmly in your hands from here on. No more hiding behind mummy and daddy. The onus is on you to create and maintain your own family. But has your mentality really changed? Do you consider yourself a fully grown woman, or do you still think of yourself as a little girl? Do you feel a great deal has changed from when you were 14/15? Or do you still feel as lost and confused as ever? When does a girl actually become a woman? - As soon as she hits puberty? - When she reaches 16? 18? 21? - When she marries for the first time? (Or rather, considering current trends, when she first becomes sexually active?) - Or does a girl only become a real woman when she finally takes up the responsibilty of motherhood? Tell me ladies (those in their 20s and unmarried), do you consider yourselves girls or women? *"Must stop listening to Britney Spears"*
  14. Gabdho, bal isuga...I need to pack my bags and get the visa first, then its off to HONG KONG! Yeeha! In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death. (Like THAT makes sense.) Acuudu Bilaah...never in my wildest thoughts did I think bestiality was legal anywhere!
  15. Well dear, you will be missed. Half the threads on this site are yours, so I don't know who will be able to fill your shoes (not that you have large feet, mind). Do take care I'A.
  16. Originally posted by NGONGE: Being on the wrong side of 60 will not stop me from finding several 16 year olds who are willing to marry me. It’s the Somali way, darling. PS No dreams have been crushed. If and when I do it, I will only do it as some sort of service for my Somali sisters. It’s really not fair that only one woman can brag about being married to me. Bugger it! Nothing fazes you eh? Tell you what smarty-pants, this isnt the end of it, not by a long shot. I will knock that bravado out of you. Mark my words!  *Throws her shoe out the window* Baashi, It only takes one apple to spoil the whole bunch. Xoogsade... Sheh...He needs to be brought down a peg or two soo maaha? Kibirkii baa ka batay!
  17. Ahh! Looky here, oh so civilisedly discussing polygamy. See how Baashi is being so logical about it? and I see the girls are skirting around the issue at hand. Well let me throw a bucket of petrol on the flames... Originally posted by Baashi: I see you are not against polygamy per se right? You are against, however, people abusing that legal option. Same here! Most of men (responsible, pious ones) understand that. Well, thats just it, isnt it? At the risk of tarnishing you all, am gonna have to say there's nothing responsible or pious about how Somali men (notice the emphasis on Somali, because I have no knowledge of how other Muslim men conduct their affairs) go about acquiring their multiple spouses. Please, no indignant mutterings....we've ALL heard about or witnessed the horrific things that happen. Sit back a spell and think about it. Hell, forget about additional marriages, today's men can hardly be bothered to look after their existing wives and children, therefore, I hardly think they will be doing the new wife on the block any favours either. Which brings me to something that always puzzled me...just how short-sighted and spineless are these women who shack up with married men? Don't they realise he'll be doing to them the very same thing he's done to his existing wife? That they will also become yesterday's garbage before too long? Hmm...go figure. NGONGE, When your wife is 40, you, my dear, will be on the wrong side of 60. Now tell me, who will want to marry a bad-tempered oday like you at that age? Not anyone under 40 I suspect. I just luv crushing ppl's dreams...such satisfaction! Xoogsade, Well said. I think I luv you. Its just too bad I have sworn off the xayawaan known as men. Seven, Not every reference to petite is aimed at you my dear. LoL @ FOOLXUMO. Runtaa, waxa dhaca maalmahan waa foolxumo iyo nus. Now lets not hide behind the legality of polygamy in Islam, because it doesn't justify the behaviour and actions we've seen so far from your camp. Just to clarify, no I'm NOT bitter. I just havent had my morning cup of tea yet.
  18. 2Nine8Five, It appears so. Talk about hidden messages!
  19. ^ Yes, the dots seem to connect effortlessly, dont they?

I made this point earlier. Sorry luv, I didnt read the whole thing, so I didnt kno u had previously made the same point. Plus...easy on Gediid, he's a cutie.
  21. ^^ The hyena smells fresh blood! Diamante, iska ilaali dugaaga walaalo.
  22. ^LoL A case of mistaken identity I think. Raula is the culprit here not me. I dont go for crazy married men.
