  1. Oh God....Today isnt going well for me coz this is the second time I have thrown up in the last three hours. Diamante...for the luv of God, WHY post such pictures? Please, remove them. Please. I can't bear them.
  2. Classique, Seems like you have a real passion for books. I agree, nothing compares to the pleasure of reading a good book.
  3. ^ I have to say that more often than not, others say salaam to me than I to them. I don't mean anything by it, I would never pointedly ignore someone's salaams on purpose, its just that by the time I hear it, turn around and try to see who said the salaam, they are gone. I'm so deeply immersed in my own little world these days, that I scarcely notice those around me. Which is terrible, I know. Anyhow, do rock on sisters.
  4. ^ You might be right there. But any younger and sheekadu meel-xun bey gaadhaysaa. After all, very young children must be protected from the evils of this world.
  5. Originally posted by InAndOut: Some Somali girls (word Some implies most)are complex species or should i say creatures out of place. Their cultural attire change as quickly as their views, marked by perpelexity of change. i have observed many of my Somali sisters and I am not alone when i say this, there seems to be a trend here. one full of "flip-flopping" nature in fashion. one day the trend is half-veiled, blinding colors hijabs. another day, a designer scarf exposing the neck and a lot more replaces yesterday's formality. Note: what is up with the flip-flopping? A remarkable observation, indeed. These Somali sisters are proving to be worthy of the most scholarly study, what with their confounding and often inscrutable ways. How they wear their clothes, how often they change their styles, the relentless and disconcerting 'flip-flopping' all of it incomprehensible. What strange creatures! <----Wonders when common-sense will return.
  6. ^Kaalay, you're pretty eloquent when you want to be, ma istidhi?
  7. Gosh, you girls must smell absolutely divine. I have a few bottles which I got as pressies but I hardly ever wear them. I seem to have developed an inexplicable intolerence to perfumes over the past couple of years. I'm not allergic per se, I dont break out in rashes or anything like that, I just feel nauseated whenever I get a whiff. Not much fun when everyone wears such strong-smelling fragrances.
  8. ^ He's not the only one. QQ, Are you sure? I rather think 22-year-olds might prove far too mature for your taste. 12-13 might be a better age group for you.
  9. ^Also, what Somali wife wouldn't go and scald the author of the letter with hot water? I agree, fantasy! FF, Dont apply your insecurities to me. I'm a one-man woman. You hear?
  10. ^ Kix kix kix kix @ #3! If I was made MODERATOR *hint hint* This obvious slap in the face to women everywhere will not have seen the light of day!!! You've abviously never heard of Free Speech and Democracy, holy institutions which should be protected at all costs.
  11. ^ You girls! No loyalty, no longevity, no standing by your man. No wonder all the good men are going to Syria. Fix up!
  12. ^ Because they don't want you to be happy. Why else? But you'll show them, I am sure.
  13. OG Moti appreciation thread? By 'eck!
  14. This situation is too hypothetical for me. I can't really put myself in the woman's shoes (3 KIDS? crappy sex life? 10 years of drifting along?) Naah...no thanks. I will wait for NGONGE's input.
  15. Originally posted by Legend of Zu: am not leadin anyone, am i? or is it the case where the blind person accuses the other of starin @ them!!!... LoL...I guess you dont wanna bite me anymore, eh? Bad move. I was actually contemplating keeping my mouth shut from here on.
  16. ...is that so bad? Not at all. I think it's the least you deserve.

Go back home and marry a sweet, innocent geeljire. Bring him back to Canada with you, and not only will he adore you forever, but he'll worship the ground you walk on. You'll be his saviour, his mentor, his meal-ticket. You'll have all the power. You'll wear the pants in the relationship. You'll have everything you've ever wanted as a radical, raging Western feminist. You will be the DON. Doesn't it sound delicious? Go for it. Why should the guys have all the fun.
  18. LoL. I have a bad sense of Deja vu about this topic. Ladies, how often have we ended up arguing about this inherent mentality in our brothers which seems to say that whatever a Somali man does, he does it because he's driven to it by a Somali woman? All the young, strapping (dare I say even handsome?) Somali men - eligible bachelors in every sense of the word, are going abroad to marry in their droves. Why? Because, there's something lacking in the Somali women who reside in the West. Well, OF COURSE. Duh! It is so obvious, I don't know how I didnt see it before. I say good for them. Being the sweet, pious 'marwo' that I am, I would never dream of standing in their way. Because, they are our men. And they deserve better than us. Of course they do. Now, if only I lived in Syria.....
  19. Jalaqsan... LoL...No, your free to chase whichever one catches your fancy. However, I don't think you'll find ur millionaire in here.
  20. I repeat, 'the blind leading the blind'. Tragic.
  21. FF, The kid is only 5 and he's already associating marriage with getting fed? God help us. ...Balance saaxiib is something we can only wish for with women but never taste it in a lifetime... Gediid...Poor baby! Maybe next time, eh? LoL @ Shayma. Clever little things.
  22. Shopping happens to be the only thing standing between me and the ready-made noose hanging from the light fixture in my room. I'm, therefore, unable to join this Shopaholics Anonymous club. Sorry.
  23. Previous discussions of this topic: I dont wanna have children, would you marry me?? Women who can't have children..... Not being able to have my own kids doesnt bother me too much, as I plan to adopt regardless. Insha'Allah.
  24. Underdog, My sincere condolences to you and the rest of your family. May Allah rest your mum's soul in in peace, in paradise. Totti, I'm deeply sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing. Allah ha u naxariisto. Give my best to your family, please. Sheh, I wish you my best. Hope you feel better.
