^ No-one said relations between children is right. Clearly it isn't. Both would be too young to shoulder the consequences of being sexually active. Furthermore, it isn't condoned by any society (whether it happens or not). However Adult/child relations generally have far more serious (and sinister) ramifications. The potential for abuse in such a relationship is staggering. Also, some societies condone this type of relationship (young female+older male) more than they do other types. So, the comparison isn't accurate.

It would be a good idea to wait and see if there's a follow up story to confirm whether the people in question are actually Somali, because as we all know certain newspapers are always too eager to blame Somalis. Not that am denying that they might be Somali (never been fond of the head-in-the-sand syndrome), just acknowleding the propensity for these papers to write misleading claims and outrageous accusations about the Somali community. Having said that.... Did anybody read an article in Tuesday's Metro (9th May) about a group of three Somali men (early 20s) on trial for the alleged rape of a 36 year-old Solicitor? They apparently gave her a lift home after she got on the wrong tube following a night out and raped her while unconcious in her own home. Yikes. Beware faarax samaritans, dheh.

Lily, your workplace sounds like a sitcom office. Ppl always talk about food, don't they? In my previous job, there used to be a woman who insisted on making a drama out of every single thing she put into her mouth ala "I did such a naughty thing last night (everyone stops to listen)...I had a chocolate digestive! (Cue a gasp or two)...ok fine...I didnt stop @ just the one (cue more gasps), but that's it for the month. No more choc bickies!!!! (relieved laughter and applause)" It used to be really annoying. Thankfully, there are no such problems at my current job, if anything it's the opposite. Everyone loves to cook and discuss what great and exotic dishes they made/ate over the weekend. We have a lot of catered meetings/events, as well as a highly protected FridayLunch@arestaurant policy. I'm usually forced to cut back on what I eat at other times (as well as at home) to balance it out. No one on a diet would survive in this office! PS: Leave Glamour alone, yeah? It's my favourite Mag and I'm already dry-buffing my body so I can Fit into that bikini now!. :cool:
