Originally posted by NGONGE: Just as I was about to turn on the charm and have this pretty damsel eating out of my own hands, another walked in! I have never (prior to that night) met a Somali hippy before. But, in the dim lights of that restaurant, it felt as if the SUN just walked in! She floated in and kissed Serenity, nodded to me and sat down. She had an exquisite dress sense and though she wore some loud colours they were subtle enough not to distract from her beauty but, rather, compliment it. In short, she was utterly adorable and I found myself thinking that a miniature liking of her would look great on my key ring! I politely coughed and tilted my head at Serenity. Some of you here may think her thick, dim or even slow on the uptake but in my dream, Serenity was none of these things. She quickly worked out my subtle hint and proceeded to introduce me to Val! YES, the adorable hippy was Val (the only hippy to ever wear a hijab). A hippy? A HIPPY? This is definitely a dream, coz Val ain't a hippy! Finish the story bal, you mad man.

Castro, thank you. It's good to see you around here. Was afraid the TFG militia had kidnapped you. NG, thanks...I'm grateful for the reprieve. KK, you sing so well. I bet you are a karaoke champ. Cara, that's like one of my favourite jokes! A geeky friend lent me the book too. Nephy, really? That must be what they mean when they say 'To be gassed is to be loved'? Well, maybe not...I'm just being polite. Zenobia, Haneefah & Nomadique - How sweet! Mucho thanks girls. Norf, no I believe it's winter. Why do you ask? The level of optimism in this thread miyaa? Cadaan, yes, I think I might be capable of of those qualities. Maybe. Rudy, my supervisor praising me? Please. The woman only bestows more and more work on me. And to answer your question, I have done nothing for my country. Who here has? FaaraxB, I think you are awesome! Let me know when you un-terminate me, haye dheh? Dahia, Ghanima & Willamina - True, it's really important to think well of yourself, but more so to respect and appreciate yourself. Sharmarke, no, I'm experimenting with DIY ayaan idhi. Making myself feel better, to be more specific. Umi, Layzie, Nehanda & Puja - Thanks girls! Tuujiye, I have said this before and I'll say it again: Dameer ha ku tirtiro! Zii: Hi Xaliimopatra, thanks luv (I've posted the cheque already!) Phew...my wrists hurt now. Serenity...no worries. I like being your friend too. (Bet you thought I forgot you, ey? ey? Abadan!)

Well, look at that! I knew my therapist was wrong. A little appreciation definitely beats prozac any day. Thank you all. Seriously, I think there is something real to this self-help malarkey. 'Project Val' has commenced.

Ah, thank you, Cara. Just what I need to hear. Che, thank you. I'm experimenting with DIY these days. Why wait for others to do for you what you can do for yourself? Think about it. About Layzie's milkshake, is it made with skimmed milk? I'm on a diet, you see. Sheh, ah yes. I was glad to make it through the dinner, but my worry was more about the duck I ordered than the raving loonies. Jacaylbaro - Quruxda (or the lack of it for that matter), Ilaahay baa bixiya. So I can't thank myself for it. Xubeer, oh yes, that's our sister society. We have close links with them. I havent decided yet whether I want to be a member (self-preservation would require healthy eating and that sort of thing- things I dont have time for at the moment). And goodnight.

Hello and welcome to you all. Please join me in taking this opportunity to thank Val for all the hardwork she has put in this year- particularly for the goals set, the targets achieved, and all the plans that have been implemented (even if they haven't been completed yet). I would also like to thank her for being such a trouble-free daughter; a helpful and generous sister; a loving and encouraging friend; and a conscientious and hardworking employee. As we all know, it's not always easy to be these things. They require plenty of effort, patience and determination, which Val has plenty of! So, let's put our hands together for the utterly wonderful Val and let her know what a fabulous person she is! Hear hear..... Cheers! *This was an exercise in self-appreciation*

Amiin. My deepest condolences to BOB.

^ Oh well. You win some and you lose some. Or if you are England, you lose some and you lose some more.

Well...I don't know who the prettiest girl in SOL is, but I will testify that the Aussie girls are gorgeous.
-
LoL...same old, same old, I see. Naden, did you get on anyone's nerves in a previous thread? It seems like in lagu sugayey.

I don't think there is much wrong with Generation Y. I believe they are/will be more effective than previous generations.

If that is so, let's hope the poor souls in SOL are saved from your intervention.

NGONGE, I would be offended at that if it was true. But it's not. Cara is 21. Barely eligible for your list.

Originally posted by Cara: About the good captain, did you ever watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer? The actor was in one of the final season and already had that drawl down pat. Grrr. Was he? I wasn't a fan of BTVS, unfortunately. I do adore him in Firefly tho. What a heroic hunk!

^ Urm..including you? (Good to see you back. Missed you!) I recognise the symptoms, but is it an emotional 'affair' if you are single? Or more like an emotional friendship?

Originally posted by Cara: Val, enjoying your stay in bed with Captain Reynolds? I want to become a gossip columnist. Oh definitely. Mal is quite the man. Do, I think you have a knack for it (columnist)!

Cara, I'll have you know I called it a day before getting into bed with my DVDs. I'm a professional, yaa? I was working from home today....typical that SOL goes down the only time I can post liberally. And then comes back up just as I'm about to go watch my newly acquired Firefly DVD set. Shucks.

*Sigh* It's alright for corporate types, flying here and there on assignment, going abroad, wkend breaks, blah. Whilst some of us poor public sector workers never leave the office.

^ Of course. Never watched it tho.
