  1. Time management is not a concept I have grasped yet, particularly at work. I would be drowning under a tonne of my own work and my manager will throw several trivial but time-consuming tasks across my desk and I find myself doing them! *Must learn to say NO!* And let's not talk about my personal life! Sheh, that sounds like a good book. I'll check it out I'A.
  2. Kat, I'm sorry to hear about your brother and his friends. Speedy recovery, Insha'Allah. Hope they catch the perpetrators. Canjeex, that's a noble offer.
  3. LoL @ Cara! Do New Year's and Valentine's work for Somalis as well?. Strangely enough, I have never come across anyone who shares my birthday until Zafir. My family and friends' birthdays are fairly spread over the year, but there are three months that are more congested (and expensive) than others: April, October and November.
  4. Someone is grumpy. Yes, it is another year obviously. Q was, how will you be seeing it in?
  5. ^ Maybe in the next three years I'A. How will you be seeing in the new year, I'A?
  6. ^ Loved ones, job, the thrill of the future. Why 40?
  7. My first thought this morning was: "Yeey, last day at work!" If you could choose, at what age would you choose to die?
  8. Hello Trolls! Enjoying a calm day at the office, I presume? I'm amazed at how much work I have been able to do in the last couple of days without the usual distractions (my phone only rang once all morning!!!). 4pm rolls around and I'm gonna be starting my Eid celebration properly I'A! Hope you all have a fantastic break I'A. I'm certainly looking forward to vegetating in front of my TV!
  9. ^ Sure. I longed to be an only child for a good deal of my childhood. That is until I realised I could enslave my siblings. Question: If you could live in any city, which would you choose and why?
  10. Ciid Mubarak! Hope you all had a wonderful time.
  11. ^ Hi Stoic! LoL @ Cara. I know what you mean. Karaoke is such fun as I found out recently. My manager sang "Not a girl not yet a woman" by Britney Spears and I almost died of laughter.

It is not tha hard to get a job, but maybe little difficult to land the right job at first, I found a job back in August while I was here, then went back, and couldnt come back in time, Carabta wax kama dhamadaan, And I got my current job in two weeks, Actually I got two, and chose one which is not that far from me,two stops by train. Thank you. That's very encouraging actually. Rokko, lucky you! I have always wanted to see in the New Year at Sydney Harbour Bridge! Thought I could have done it this year but got side-tracked. Maybe next year I'A...
  14. NG, I don't dress up (as Santa's Little Helper or anything else for that matter) but I do send cards to those who send me one. I also don't go to parties, but rather opt for lunches (they hold both). This year, I have been invited to several lunches but I'm skipping all but one with my former colleagues (they understand the etiquette of drinking with non-drinkers, i.e. they pay for their alcoholic drinks separately and don't expect you to contribute). Maybe if my department went all out (like Serenity's boss) and arranged a posh shindig for us, I might be tempted to don my sparkly glad rags and partake.
  15. NG, if I could choose I would go for Jessica's lethal powers, if I could have them without Niki's whingeing.
  16. ^ Good to know. Ghanima, they usually are very attractive. And they motivate you to look after yourself too. You know, being a woman you simply can't be outshone by a mere male!

LoL...boy racer dheh. Mac sonkor methinks.
  18. ^ Save the Cheerleader, Save Somalia! I heard about that conversation, Ghanima. I heard you and Caano ganged up on Serenity. I was going to beat you both with my dacas the next time I saw you. Not anymore. You're safe from me.
  19. Originally posted by Kool_Kat: Mr Metrosexual Awhat, Awho, who stole my lip gloss... This Farax has seriously over-subscribed into the notion of the new 21st century man. Not only does he watch The OC and Trinidy and Susannah’s how to dress show, he believes in the whole equality thing to the extend that you might as well be one of his male friends. He does not appreciate femininity. He expects his woman to go Dutch all the time. He will roam your beauty bag for the latest moisturizer and expensive lip conditioner you would rather not share. This man knows more about hair shampoos than you do. He will insist on a mini breaks during dinner so that you can both ‘freshen up’. He will fight with you for precious mirror spaces to be found in window shops, parked car side mirrors or the decorative restaurant lobby walled mirrors. He is a pain, avoid him. I disagree. He's not a pain. I think Mr Metrosexual is awfully attractive. In fact, I wouldn't mind sharing mirror space with him.
  20. Yeah, I was told it was liable to fall on the 20th or 21st I'A. Eid Mubarak all! Norf, will you be doing the slaughtering yourself? Or Will you be going down to the butchers to get an already sliced and diced little lamb like the rest of us?
  21. ^ Shudhup. Ghanima, blame our nomadic roots (altho mine did nothing for me most of my life). Plus, if you are going to leave the UK, it should be for a fabulous location like Australia (and not the UAE )!!
  22. ^ Maybe because Australia is superior to the UAE? Dabshid, welcome back. I certainly noticed your absence. How easy/difficult was it to find a job in Sydney? How long did the process take? Give me some tips for when I make the move (I'A).
