^ War carruurta ha naga caayin - I'm sure they were just happy to be out and about and not intoxicated. Just spent 30 mins at the green - completely loving the sunshine!!! Northerner - Why Edgeware Rd? I can't believe you would have missed it that much, considering you live in the Middle East! If the gorgeous weather holds, head for Regent's Park!

Originally posted by *BOB: There was this guy from my old xaafad who wanted to marry qoftoo in Nairobi back in the day and she told him inuu Aabeheed ka doono...my old buddy went to see her old man and after a while and few cups of tea later...the old man dropped the bomb on him..."Adeer horta adigu qolomaa tahay?" my buddy being the ciyaal xaafad that he was replied "Hehe-hehe Adeer Aniga Beezaani aan ahay hehe hehe" "Adeer Beezaani yuu ku abtirsadaa?" the old man asked naming the three major Somali tribes..."Sadexdaasba shaqo kuma laha Beezaani" claimed my old friend...the old man sensing something was amiss here asked the young man to bring his elders day so and so at such and such time. now being a true Beezaani my friend didn't bother looking for old men whom he wasn't familiar with but he gathered few guys that he was comfortable with and brought them to the future wife's home...to cut long story short the old man lost it when he found out that these guys were not from the same tribe as the guy who was asking his daughter's hand in marriage and worse the guys he brought themselves all belonged to different tribes and the old man thought the guy belonged to the qabiilada ey Soomaalidu yasto and he said it so and that's when my friend hit the roof and told the old man "Gabartaada Wajiga Saaro" after few scuffles and booto iyo I will do this and that to you...the old man was finally told which tribe my old buddy belonged to and guess what? They both belonged to the same tribe...in fact they even belonged to the same laf iyo jilib and the old man happened to have known my buddy's grandfather while still alive...now who's the monkey with the tail between his legs? Sorry, but I think in this case your friend was the monkey. He was very disrespectful and immature in how he conducted himself and I don't see how any father, regardless of his tribe, will let somebody who behaves like that marry their daughter. There is tribe and then there is tribalism. For better or for worse, your tribe is your identity. I don't think a Somali man can expect to present himself to a future father-in-law and ask for his daughter's hand without clearly identifying himself.

London Mayoral Election - Who got your vote?
Valenteenah. replied to Valenteenah.'s topic in General
How is it Boris has managed to win? What a bizarre turn of events... *Waves* @ Gediid! -
So, it's all done and dusted now. The votes are being counted and we'll know who's won in a few hours. Did you vote? And if so, who did you vote for? Most ppl I spoke to over the course of the day had voted for or were going to vote for Ken Livingstone as first choice with Brian Paddick as second preference.

You need to keep ur husbands/bf moral .......
Valenteenah. replied to Yaabka-Yaabkiis's topic in General
Well, if all it takes to have a good marriage is to look after your husband's morals, then it's not too much to ask. I'll be happy to nag him, and occasionally slap him around, to ensure that he always tells the truth on his tax returns and insurance claims, never views morally-questionable materials and imagery, and so on and so forth. I can be his moral compass. No worries. Rudy, you seem strangely cheerful. Did you get married again? -

How come only his morals should be kept happy and satisfied? -

Very nice. I really want a beach holiday!

^ Ha ha. Not a bad idea.

I don't really watch Gordon Ramsay, he is a bit too much. I love Bill Granger tho. I've spent many a Saturday morning drooling over his dishes. The chef in action

^ Howdy cowboy! Who turned it down, you? It's a good position to be in- rejecting jobs willy nilly. I have been invited to a fancy dress dinner and dance at the end of this month and I have no idea what to wear. I'm stumped.

Pilates, yoga, pole-dancing, niiko...it almost makes exercise seem pleasurable. But not quite.

I haven't seen any Bollywood flicks for years. Then I watched Dhoom 2 (I think that was the title) on Channel 4 last week. LoL...I was cringing throughout, I tell ya! Anyway, it was good to see what Aishwarya Rai's new hubby looks like....bit of a babe, isn't he? Phwoar!

^^ It's not about money, dear. It's about love. If he loves her, he'll fork out anything for her. If she loves him, she won't place a heavier financial burden on him than he can afford. See?

Hi Ibti - I'm very well, thanks. How are you doing? STOIC - I was not criticising, just teasing. I wouldn't exactly say you have a risque online character, even with your flirting! LoL, in fact if I had a son, I would like him to be very much like my impression of you; Polite, articulate, studious and slightly shy/awkward. CL -
-
I think facebook is rather boring. Also I only recently realised the consequence of commenting on photos!
-
STOIC, lol - you are not exactly obeying She Who Must Be Obeyed, are you? *Waves @ the regular trolls*

Gosh, fitness...I'm in denial.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family, Libaax! Blessings. Caano Geel, already nicknaming the newborn? How cute. I think you ought to start working on your brood soon! -
Waa la soo xulay, waxaba. It was more of a modelling show than anything else!
