Mario B;802442 wrote: SL army is clan militia, PL army is clan outfit too, the same logic applies to Galmudug. The precedent has already been set. I also dont speak for most somalis, I also believe that no one is stoping Somalia from reconstituting it's army, the rest of the world just don't to fund it, rightly so...I believe we should pay for own Army. I agree with this but there are no funds for an army and we also have widespread corruption problems.Until we solve this it might take a decade to have a somali army. But the problem is we will have to depend on AMISOM and xabashis and thats will only fuel Alshabab more.

Mario B;802383 wrote: We need to build our Somali Army ASAP, then maybe 1000 Djiboutian army can remain in Somalia for training purposes, why is the Somali government only training 1000 troops a year? at this rate i'll take decades to have a national army. Bro....you are assuming that Somali people are allowed to have a army?. Well thats not the case.

Al-shabab commanders flee towards Yemen KISMAYU - Reports from southern Somalia says that close to 100 members of the militant group Al-Shabab streamed out of the port town of Kismayu, directing towards Yemen, a sign the militant group is under increasing pressure. Residents say at least three speed boats have docked at the port of Kismayu on Wednesday alone to carry 100 militants — mostly foreign fighters — fleeing to Yemen, only weeks after the Al-shabab and Al-Qaeda announced their merger. Senior Al-shabab commanders ordered local residents in Kismayu town, which is just 500km away south of Mogadishu to come out in the streets and squares in the city, urging people to join the battlefields of the militants in Somalia. Al-Shabab has formally merged with Al-Qaeda — a move that analysts say was an attempt to give a boost of confidence to an insurgent force that is losing power. Source
