  2. Dream on secessionist. The people who wrote this article could not point out where Somalia is on the map. Let alone PL.
  3. Raamsade;830449 wrote: Belo! Why name arguably the best president the perennially hopeless Somalis ever had after some godforsaken town in the middle of nowhere? Surely he deserves higher profile than Caabudwaaq, no? Its named after his father, Siyaad Barre but I agree an airport named after Jalle Siyaad Barre should be in Kismaayu.

  5. Unitary Somalia is preferable over federalism.

I agree, they should focus their energy on getting free from the black colonial power first then establish consensus on what to do. I would support both cases.
  8. Ya caraafat you dont have to make a thread everytime somethings cross your mind even tho you are right on this one.

  10. Has it started yet? Keep us updated Che. Farmaajo is good leader and I think he learned his lessons from his period as PM and will adress the jungle in Somalia better next time.
  11. kingofkings;826291 wrote: ^^^ wow. sxb. i strongly recommend you take political science 101. politic is a consensus based and as a result, everybody compromises. PL is only going to be part of somalia under the system of federalism; otherwise, PL will declare independence. Has Sharif rejected federalism? No, he just stated that there could be a debate on different federal systems. In my view thats a fair request since puntlands view of "federalism" means no tax to mogadishu, different armies, their own constitution, you get the point. Faroole dont endorse this federal constitution because this is not what he had in mind. But still the constitution is FEDERAL.
  12. kingofkings;826274 wrote: faroole is not a spoiler like the hordes in mogadishu, the man is against the constitution because the road map and the two garowe principles clearly state "All of them agreed in their opening statements that the structure/form of a permanent Somali state should be federal". "Only Sh. Sharif anticipated the conflict that loomed ahead, when he said: “The debate could be what type of federal system.” here is the full article damn you shariif. Thanks for the article. So basically Faroole says, either we follow our view of "federalism" or we reject it all together?
  13. kingofkings;826271 wrote: the constitution is not fully endorsing federalism as agreed upon. What was agree upon and whats has not been meet in the constitution? This sounds like spoiler in my ears but I let you explain your case before I pass my infinite judgement on Farroole if he is indeed a spoiler or not.

  15. kingofkings;826223 wrote: didn't you hear, Faroole is against the constitution. god damn. it's like talking to a wall. Thats makes him a spoiler and nabaddiid right?
  16. Imagine 20years into the road of federalism, people like TS will be in their millions, no nationhood whatsoever.

Somalia;825244 wrote: I praised this man before he went to meet Somalidiid who said that the man in Dire Dawa is closer to him than the one from Mogadishu, he embarrassed himself to an extend no president has ever done. If you knew anything you'd understand that this doesn't lead to "mini states", it leaves federal states with 2 or more gobolo out of the 18 original becoming states. Every state has a flag, it's the same around the world. And now you are using the immigration policy as a reason to be against it? Why not just say it should be amended like a sensible logical person? I am truly saddened that this is what we are dealing with in the year 2012. Thats exactly what mini-states is; or the beginning of it,, call it federal or what you want, it creates basis for future seperation into ministates. I agree that every state in the world has flag but the big diffference is that somalis will claim this flag to a clan,(i.e) clan flags. We will be dealing with greater issues in 2024, like the reparation of the problems this federal policy caused.
  18. Somalia;825149 wrote: It absolutely isn't. If you are against something you point out why, we are dealing with people who say we are against the constitution regardless. Ok, tell me, why are you against it? You did congratulate this weak kneed man after all.. This weak kneed man is the one you praised before. I dont support this draft because it will strenghten the divisions in the country and will lead to ministates with their own constitution without any national sense. I frankly dont believe this is step forward for somalia. Every qabil with their own flag-mentality has gone to far, it will lead to somalia going different paths and will not revive her. We should not even cover their immigration policy........
  19. Somalia;825139 wrote: Yeah, the warlords that pillaged the country for 21 years and Al-Shabaab really represent the interests of the Somali people. Even AMISOM is more Somali since they seem to want to establish peace. It's laughable if it wasn't scary that people have the dumb mentality of "the world wants to rule us". Not all people who are against this draft constitution are warlords and one can argue that some warlords today support this draft. Its more complex then you make it out to be. Most people want to establish peace but differ on the conditions, and there should be compromise instead of labing people anti-peace or spoilers. This can be adressed quite easily imo, but unfortunately some people deciding to handle this the "somali way"
