You mean they cried and got want they wanted? Probably...but they lost credibility in the eyes of other somalis. -
The only spoilers are those who refuse to take part of this event in Turkey.

Xaaji Xunjuf;835656 wrote: Dabrow even with a federal constitution there should be a nation wide referendum if the people of Somalia want this constitution, it can never be forced.Professor samatar said the Somali people didn't read this constitution he said i can swear not even 500 Somali citizens saw the so called constitution. Do you have an updated version of this constitution?

Federalism is not devine script, it was accepted yesterday but can be rejected tomorrow. Infact many somalis and leaders will compromise and accept this federal system of governance, even though they dont agree with the concept. If the Istanbul conference fails then this federal roadmap will fail aswell.

Qandalawi;835603 wrote: ^Its blunder that has happened which Turkey just realised. The delegates that went to Turkey are only from one side of the TFG I heard, Aala Sheikh are too damp not to even include few individuals from here and there, waxkasta waa dhankooda Loool ... The other two sides of the TFG ayaa xataa yaabay, Sakiin and Gaas and everyone else iyo wixi kale oo dhanna are gobsmacked. I dont buy this, what you are talking about is a minor problem that could be solved immediately by Puntland raising their concerns about the conference. Turkey has not realised damn thing, they are still shocked like anyone else over this outcry. This explanation is weak and unlikely, try another.

Qandalawi;835272 wrote: The wishful thinking of PL haters group. Turkey is an influential nation with huge interest in Somalia, they will not pick and choose one Somali group or region over the other and they don't want to be seen siding with groups and neglecting others, nor will they fall for the low level thinking of Somalis. Turkey's agenda for Somalia is conclusive and holistic, it has a strategic agenda and alliance with Somalia for the long haul, and willl not be tricked to be sucked into the dirty clanish Somali politics. For that reason, they will do everything they can to convince Faroole and eventually bring him on board. PL is too big and massive Somali constituency to be ignored yaa Dabrow. You must know that. You think I hate puntland? I agree Puntland is part of Somalia, just like others regions, Puntland should cut the BS and work with other somalis for whats best for Somalia and not pursue different political paths. My point was if Puntland wants to play ball then we should give them the ball and recover our capital first and then the south. We dont have time for nonsense.

faarah22;835007 wrote: Here we go with cheap emotional tirades. guys stop the BS for once, somali babies have been dying for 21 years. now these ottoman wannabe thug showboats a lil and all the somalis wax lyrical, give me a break. the UN is best hope for somalia and it was there with us all the way from 1990, why is no one praising them, eh. LOL look at this fool attacking the turks now.

kingofkings;834813 wrote: PL natural resources are not up for debate. PL constitution clearly states, Article 48 NATURAL RESOURCES 1. Puntland natural resources belong to Puntland people and can be exploited in conformity with the Law. 2. The Puntland State is responsible for the protection and exploitations of the natural resources. 3. The Puntland State may make agreements with national or foreign companies and give them the exploitation of natural resources 4. The concession shall be approved by the House of Representatives ( of Puntland) and can not last for more that twenty-five (25) years. The Somali constitution overpowers puntland constitution.

Somalia;834799 wrote: No, I want a federal system, not to break up, on which planet will anyone from Puntland allow people from the south to decide their local affairs for them, let alone decide the wealth of this region, even I'm against this. Puntland will stay strong on this issue, federalism is federalism, if you want a central state then there's nothing left for us as a nation. Which kind of person wants the return of a failed system, that's what I don't understand. The problem is you dont understand what federal means. The natural resources of all Somalia should be decided by the state. This model is in place in all federal systems. What you call for is breaking up a nation. Even if Puntland stands strong on this issues they are the one who will suffer from it. The conference will go on without spoilers.

Somalia;834763 wrote: You are contradicting yourself. If the national constitution overpowers it, then how would it be agreed upon with the Puntland constitution? This is the information I got from puntlanders on this site, they said that the Puntland constitution comes under the national one, well if that its the case, I dont see puntlands or farooles problem with natural resources.

Chimera;834755 wrote: Excuse me, but I'm probably the biggest proponent of a Unified Somalia on this board, and have promoted these regions in a positive light on the net and outside of that for that very same reason. However, I have become sick and tired of war, and political b.s. We have already wasted two decades in development and construction, and I sure as hell don't want this third decade to go lost as well. If that means seperation, and not tied by unnecessary baggage, than hell yeah I take that option. We are all fed up with that BS and political clan warfare, still I hopes for revival of the republic and we will overcome it.

Somalia;834750 wrote: Yes, you are right, it's his way or the highway, especially regarding the issue of natural resources, that's where the rift came, he doesn't feel that the corrupt TFG should have a right over the development issues in Puntland, and it is his right. But the boycott won't matter as Chimera said, so you should be laughing rather than taking it to heart. PS. Dusty, is that an insult you can give? Its not an insult its only describing the reality. Im taking to the heart since unlike Chimera I want to see Somalia back(as a whole) This is bad political move. Whats the fuss about? Has faroole not read the Puntland constitution? The national constitution overpowers it and the natural resources should be dealth with as according to the national constitution that Puntland signed and agreed upon.. Its simply a case of sitting on two chairs for Mr faroole.

Somalia;834742 wrote: You have to look at who it benefits, Puntland won't allow another hijacking like those previous to the TFG's establishment, if they are puppets, then what does that make you, in GEDO ! You are one sad person. I dont identify me with the leadership in my home region in Somalia and I dont agree with them on many subjects. Puntland are trying to undermine a strong Somali state to take form and continue this path of regional clan admins who rule their dusty villages like kings. This is zenawis wish and farooles, since they feel threated by a process they think wont suit their agenda. This "my way or the highway" mentality will not be tolerated any longer. The hijacker this time is from Bogusland.
