Xiinfaniin , it is your turn my friend.

George Galloway is a first class orator. Pity, he's lost a lot of respect for some of his unseemly antics. Here's a link to him at his best:

The rules are there to be broken and if you insist that i can't break them, then I'm Sorry, I have no interest in playing the game. I QUIT... Dont be childish. No need to hand in your resignation, just refrain from posting in this thread if you expect to be 'exempt' from the rules. The rules say, the quotes have to be in bold..is that so hard to do? Here, i'll even do it for you.Next time be civil enough to follow the simple instructions or don't bother. Who Said... "The sourness of this world is sweetness of the next world while the sweetness of this world is the sourness of the next one."

How to Play: - In this game, a quote said by a historical character is posted by whoever's turn it is. Anyone else is then free to guess the speaker of the posted quote. The person who guesses correctly then takes a turn posting a quote, and will tell people "correct" or "incorrect" as they guess at his/her quote. Rules: - Only post a new quote if the person who posted the current quote tells you that you have answered their quote correctly. - Do not guess multiple times in one post (Do not post a second guess until the first has been said to be wrong by the person who posted the quote). - The quote must have been said by someone real. "To be or not to be" qualifies as Shakespeare's, but not as Hamlet's. - Please do not use something like: "Thank you." or "Yes." as your entire quote. - Google is forbidden! - When it is your turn to post a quote, please do so in bold font. Lets stick to the rules, people. It must be a quote BOB .

Captain you are getting the hang of it! Unfortunately that cannot be said for everybody else...Where's Garaad? It's your turn, we won't wait indefinately..
-
Let them have the image that reer Mogadishu are daadh Qalasho. Thats when they will start respecting you as a human. So behave like animals to get them to fear and 'respect us as humans'. I'd rather they feared us for our bravery than our utterly mindless savagery.
-
It is one thing to revenge upon an Amxaar soldier, and quite another thing to drag around dead bodies. It is animalistic and beyond savage. It is something which will and already has taint/ed our people. Amxaaro deserve horrible deaths perhaps, but a corpse is a corpse. And a corpse deserves respect as the Islam teaches us. Islam forbids the maltreatment of Prisoners of war, and the torturing of prisoners....what do you think its stance is on the dead? It saddens me to behold Somalis engaged in this, whilst some here who are not exposed to the hate, fear and danger of Xamar are baying for more mutilated bodies and parading of corpses. Amxaaro deserve to die for lifting a hand against our nation, but the dead deserve peace.
-
So I will just go ahead with mind. Oh no you dont! We will wait for Garaad's post. And you will wait until you solve a quote before you get the chance to post your own.
-
TheSomaliEconomist, i deemed you better than this. What purpose does deliberately posting up pictures of mutilated corpses serve?

U can now demand ur prize from the old man Centurion. I am not required for the continuation of this thread, and neither are there any prizes. Its simple....now Cynical Lady can post in a quote of her liking.

I'm afraid we'll need a hint, captain before this thread dies an immature death

Only post a new quote if the person who posted the current quote tells you that you have answered their quote correctly. I'll let you off this time Captain, since you answered correctly. It is indeed the Roman General Lucius Cornelius Sulla. By the way, the quote in its exact format please, sxb. I doubt whoever uttered your quote wrote 'u' instead of 'you'.

I thought this might be a fun and educating exercise for the know it alls of SOL. The gameplay is quite simple really. - Do not guess mutiple times in one post (Do not post a second guess until the first has been said to be wrong by the person who posted the quote). I'll start off with a mildly difficult quote; No man ever did me so much good, or enemy so much harm, but I repaid him with interest. Who said that?
-
Thank you Shumey, i've been looking for this kind of source for some time.

Thanks for the correction Abu ansaar, you are quite right. The prophet asked Allah to make one of the two Umars (Abu Jahal's real name was Umar bin Hisham) a believer, for they were both fierce men.

I daresay Cumar RA was on level par with Xamza. Khalid however was the top most Islamic general, he had no equal in the game of war, he remained undefeated, a feat a handful of generals can boast in the history of the world.

they got lucky with the ''Russian winter'' It was neither luck nor divine intervention, just very bad planning by the Nazis. Military incursions into Russia during the winter results in logistical difficulties, significantly decreases reaction times, and is morale sapping. Napoleon was thwarted by this same Russian winter. The Nazis made the same mistake, this inexcusable blunder crippled thier military capacity and led to their eventual defeat by the Allied forces.

I think Laba-Xiniinyood is the sort of man who can do this job I second that, Laba-Xiniinyood is the man you want for this.

Now that the Palestians have agreed on a unity govnt with Hamas ‘likely’ to denounce violence and recognize Israel along with all major Arab countries, is this it? Are we about to witness something? Is Palestine about to be re-born? Will there be peace, stability and progress for Palestians at long last? Although the latest talks and the power-sharing pact between Hamas and Fatah show promise, it is far to early to answer any of these questions as of yet. Once the coalition has been fully established, and once the seemingly inevitable 'recognition' of Israel takes place, Israel will no doubt respond kindly and tolerate the release of a significant number of its Palestinian prisoners and loosen the noose it has on the economical and developmental capacity of the Palestinian territories. Yet, these would be but the first steps in the long journey to a peaceful and prosperous Palestine(the parts Israel doesnt illegaly possess of course) There is a long way to go yet, that is certain. And of course the 'recognition' of Israel is not guaranteed' the Hamas affiliated elements in the new Palestinian government will of course see the neccessity of defrosting ties with the Israelis, but might baulk from and very likely stop short of granting them full recognition.

It doesn't matter who/what MC voted for; who/what the majority of Canadian citizens voted for is what factors, the rest will share responsibility. Isn't that what Democracy is about? If the majority of Canadians vote for an increase of 10% in federal taxes, it will not absolve those who voted against it from paying the taxes. Right, you've gone from accusing him of voting for the present government, to concluding that it doesnt matter who he voted for, as a Canadian citizen he is guilty of whatever crime his government(one he hasnt necessarily voted for) commits. I hope you can see the fallacy in your argument.
-
You have something to do with that. You as a Canadian citizen elected the Canadian government, given it a license to send the military to Afghanistan, which led to the torture and killing of innocent Afghans. Therefore, you share the responsibility. Well? Don't be daft, Taliban. You dont even know who and what MC voted for.

By Sahal Abdulle MOGADISHU, March 13 (Reuters) - Mortar rounds crashed into Somalia's presidential palace on Tuesday hours after President Abdullahi Yusuf flew back into the chaotic coastal capital Mogadishu. Yusuf's interim government voted overwhelmingly on Monday to move to the city, despite near-daily insurgent attacks blamed on an Islamist movement defeated two months ago. "We saw several mortars flying over us towards the palace," said one woman who lives nearby and asked not to be named. Residents said government troops and their Ethiopian allies based at the hilltop Villa Somalia compound immediately returned fire with artillery guns. At least three areas in the city were said to have been hit, but details were scarce. In New York the U.N. Security Council condemned the violence in the Horn of Africa country. South Africa's U.N. Ambassador Dumisani Kumalo, the current council president, said it condemned the attacks against an African Union force in Somalia and the leaders of the country's transitional institutions. "The members of the council also express their great concern at the deteriorating humanitarian situation," he said. In other violent incidents in Mogadishu on Tuesday, a remote controlled bomb -- the first known use of such a device in Somalia's insurgency -- destroyed the car of a city official, although it was unclear if he was in the vehicle at the time. Police cordoned off the site of the blast and stopped journalists from viewing the wreckage. Elsewhere, residents said two civilians were killed and three wounded when Ethiopian troops opened fire after their convoy was ambushed by gunmen. Yusuf, who has been out of Mogadishu for about a month, returned to the capital earlier on Tuesday amid tight security. His administration is anxious to impose its authority on the whole of the Horn of Africa country after being confined to the south central town of Baidoa since its creation in 2004. Its Ethiopian allies are to make way for African Union troops who began arriving in Mogadishu last week. More than 1,000 Ugandans have landed, and been attacked at least twice. source

It wouldn't be right in front of the Kacbah. The kaba is the central feature of a very large mosque that is further surrounded by a huge out door prayer area. Then you get hotels and small souqs (and perhaps) this mall behind that. Yes, i know and i was slightly exaggerating. And 'tis true, and women do need their lingerie . Nevertheless, this mindless development is not what the holy city needs, and by ensuring they squeeze every last dollar out of the 5 million yearly pilgrims, the Saudis are almost defacing the place. This paragraph in the report sums it up: "It is not respecting the Kaaba, not respecting the house of God or the environment of the sanctuary," Sami Angawi, a Saudi architect who wants to preserve Mecca's heritage, said of the development. "You are not supposed to even cut a tree in this city, so how could you blow up a mountain? The Islamic laws have been broken."

More people attend church in the developed countries regulary, than people attend mosque in many muslim countries. That's absolute tosh.
