  1. Hi Everyone, This is my first post on this site I just wanted to bring up a topic that is close to home for me. Depression and schizophrenia has affected some of my family members and friends. I know this is a sensitive topic I do hope people will open up and share how they cope with this. •What issues do you face with amily members or friends who suffer from either of the two? •Do you get any support from any organisation? •How do you cope? •Do you think the medication they are put under is a solution or is it just making it worse? •Some people take the person back home to Somalia do you think that is a good idea don’t you think they would be better off here where they can get better medication? •How about those back home do you think it is right for them to be tied up? •Do you agree that they are possessed by the devil? •Since we are Muslim what is you thought about them seeing a psychologist I have my own opinions on this but would like to have an idea of how other people deal with this issues. Cheers
  2. I would not go that far MARX. As a woman, I have to say no we are not control freaks. Stop generalising that is what brings problems and misunderstandings. It all comes to ones taste, if one likes to go after the badboy and tries to tame him then goodluck. Why do Miskeen guys have this idea in their heads that women go after badboys?
  3. Average, normal and regular sound fine but predictable and consistent sound boring. Change that a little and ladies will be all over the "MISKEEN GUY". It is the idea that they can tame the badboy that makes them go after them. lol.
  4. Hi Guillaume, I will tell you as a Somali this is a very sensitive topic and the chances of you getting positive feedback would be very slim. Somalis are very proud people and they tend not to trust easily. Your best option would be maybe look around and check where they have a community centre for Somali's in your area and ask for the leader of the community centre. He/she will be able to guide you on what you can do to get your questions answered. To answer your qeustion Did clanism play a specific role for you in the diaspora? It played a big part and is still playing a big part Somalis are scattered all over the globe and it has not stopped. Wish you the best in your research. Cheers Ilhan.
