Somali Psycho's car to be: I would look so sick with that car, damn I just want to lick it.

, why not, it did wonders for her. I'm trying to figure out all of this stuff now, so i'm ready when that era comes in the future. It's better to be prepared than walk around like a lame duck who doesn't help ease the burden.

Excessiveness is alien to us. You don't see K'naan with his 300 million dollar Coca Cola deal driving such a car, neither do any of the supermodels, or big time entrepreneurs like the ones that own Dahabshiil, Daallo and SomGulf etc. This is also why I doubt there will ever be a Somali Billionaire, their mentality is to spread their wealth in various projects rather than let it age in a bank.

It would be a good alternative to Xamar in the South and a potential hub of peace for those running away from war. The geographic shape is also ideal for a port, not to forget the proximity this place has to the Bajuni Paradise. We could attract the middle-classes of Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia and the wealthy Somalis from the diaspora. Plenty of fertile land aswell to be self-sufficient.

Lol, I don't think I would send her on any long distance trips like the Bahamas with such a precious thing inside her, I would be more like a good friend of mine, who for 9 1/2 months slept only 3hrs a day as he was continuesly on 'standby' mode, and even broke off all contact with us so his wife had his full attention. He eventually lost his job because of the amount of emergencies, such as check ups, groceries, driving her to her friends and family etc, that the company didn't consider real 'emergencies', and his refusal to stop resulted in a P45 in month eight. I don't think our fathers really grasped the burden of pregnancy since our mothers were more stoic than today's sisters. I think the best gift a husband can give his wife after childbirth, is motivation and support by going with her to the gym. I heard the months post-labour are the most depressing months for a woman, this can have a negative effect on the marriage and her self-esteem. Another valuable gift would be the belly wrap device that transformed Jessica Alba after her pregnancy.

^No wonder you old guys have to run back to Africa to stand a chance, you can't compete with the new generation of young Somali men here scooping up all the beautyqueens. Just a month ago a friend of mine bought his second time pregnant wife a car on their sixth anniversary, and their mutual attraction/love is still as strong as ever! Get with the program awoowe!

There are Somali couples who in their younger years (when they are hunting one another) looked so beautiful and handsome, that you wonder why after a few years of hitching they don't seem to care anymore, and go into self-destruct mode? I know that the gym culture is flourishing in our community, but it doesn't hurt to liven up your marriage a bit through anniversary dinners, attending important seminars, weddings, staying in touch with your old friends to keep that peer pressure up(nobody wants to look less beautiful or handsome in front of their old friends). Leave the home once in a while on a trip with the kids. Guriga joog ma fiicno, it deteriorates people's health and looks.

Not really a stretch sis: Big increase in meat consumption in Dubai 3 May 2010 The official attributed the steep hike in livestock imports to increased meat consumption and resumption of livestock imports from Somalia after the ban on the country’s livestock was lifted by the UAE’s federal authorities. “Somalia, India and Pakistan are three major countries from where we receive cows, sheep and goats. Somalia is sending a lot of livestock these days after the Ministry (of Environment and Water) lifted the ban on their imports,” he explained. - Link - The new clean facilities, slaughterhouses and mega-ships that house, process and carry millions of Somali livestock has given us a boost in the UAE, and KSA markets. Somali traders have to find alternative markets for their stock though, plenty of hungry meat-eating countries willing to buy, incase the Sheikhs start acting funny again.

During the Swedish, German, Norwegian, Dutch immigrations......these Europeans didn't try to assimilate, either. Somali shopping mall? Pffft, my ancestors were so anti-American that they established their own immigrant towns. English? NEIN, my ancestors didn't want to learn the language, so instead they set up Churches that didn't preach in English, schools that didn't teach English, and whole communities where English wasn't spoken, and gladly so. Hijab? Pfft, my ancestors were Puritan English. They could teach Somali's a thing or two about dressing more conservatively/anti-American. Get my point? - Sohkoh LMAO@ NEIN!

- Somalia is currently challenging Australia's dominance in the Middle Eastern Livestock market, and stability would allow the expansion of this network to large meat-eating countries such as Turkey, Brazil and Indonesia. Koly added that the rise in prices is deterring people from purchasing Australian livestock, resulting in a slump in sales. “Earlier, Australian animals constituted 90 per cent of stocks in the local market, but now that will fall to about 20 per cent. As a result, the market is flooded with cheaper Somali animals going at a rate of RO35-40 each.” Ahmed said that with the rise in demand during Ramadan and Eid, the price of Somali goats went up from RO25-30 to the current high of RO35-40. “As for local produce, the quantity is just not enough to satiate the demand. Enough stocks are not available, making it commercially unviable.” - Link

Flashforward Tv-show - Somalia: ^I got a kick from watching that bit. There are so many stories one could place in Somalia and make it completely unique. Whether it is because of our long rich history with mysterious looking architecture and landscapes, or the current decentralisation, meaning if something happens the people are on their own.(Dystopian stories set in America and Europe always need a significant nuclear accident/war or disaster to happen, around which the stories are built.)

At the moment it is quite clear that every single economic index doesn't have the slightest clue about Somalia's economic growth or real figures, the fact that they have placed the GDP ppp at $600 for two decades is a good example of that, remittances alone would add around $200 to that figure if you divided $2.5 billion by a population of 12 million. It is simply ment to discredit Somalia's progress, it is ment to paint a picture of 'insignificance' on the continent, evendo Somali businessmen operate a vast trade network connecting large swathes of Africa with the Middle East, Europe and Asia. There used to be a very interesting study by an economist on http://www.civicwebs.com, about the Somali Economy and he made comparisons with neighbouring countries, the figures were something like this: Somalia - $ 795 Ethiopia - $ 500 Kenya - $900 This was in 2001, today Kenya is at $1700, yet Somalia hasn't changed at all despite growing faster, how is that possible? It is not farfetched to state that Somalia's GDP per capita is $1500 give or take, making the Somali Economy worth atleast $18 billion today, a figure that in less than five years of stability would grow to $3000 with the diversified exports of livestock, oil, gas, fish and the increase of agricultural output + the growth of a service based sector fuelled by the Telecommunications companies in peacetime Somalia, and the immense investment and BRAINGAIN from the diaspora that would come with peace. If this is achieved by 2015, then the following could be a reality: 2020 | Somalia | 20 million people x $3000 = $60 billion. This would place us in the Top 15 African countries based on GDP, this is a reality that is very much achievable considering how business savvy and resourceful our people are, if only the guns were put down. Sudan is a good example.

Originally posted by Mad_Mullah: ^ haha, so true wallahi, I think Somalis aren't talented in building cities, they keep on saying magaalo but in reality their biggest city probably equals the area I live in now. Mogadishu looks so nice because the Italians build it. What a load of nonsense, there are 40 historic cities in Somalia that directly refute your silly argument. These cities had economic zones, residential zones, places of worship and education long before any European imperialist entered the continent. We boast some of the most romantic and unique cities in Africa that could rival any along the Mediterranean, Merka is a good example: Secondly Mogadishu was already a well developed city by the time the Facists came: Most of the construction projects that made Mogadishu Iconic was built by Medieval Somalis, Siad Barre and his Chinese partners, or Somali investors. We built the roads, the ports, the libraries, the museums, the stadiums, the old town, the schools, the residential areas etc. The dictator even made a legendary comment on how when he came to power there was only one road, he expanded all of that, so give credit where it is due! We built it and we destroyed it, and eventually will rebuilt it! We lack at the moment capital to built roads and restore buildings to their former prime, because investors fear to put their money into a potential black hole. There are however multiple projects going on where Somalis are planning out their cities, Garowe is a good example.
