Leezu;719513 wrote: Why are you mad that Somalis built Mogadishu? He's a ultra-qabiilist, he does not see Mogadishu as a "Somali Capital" but the city of a specific clan, hence he will try to attribute anything great about it to a foreign source. There are forums like S-net where you can see his real hatred, but his modus operandi on this forum is more "passive-aggressive", because anything direct is not tolerated. What the Italians built is trivial, infact they ruined important places like the ancient Fakr Ud Din Mosque, and this wasn't rectified until after independence. The trivial things they built, you've already mentioned(the Arch, the binocules, some neo-classical government facilities) etc, the most important things however such as: - The National library was built by Somalis - The Somali National Theatre was built under a Somali administration - The new deepsea Port was built under a Somali administration - The sprawling residential neighbourhoods were established under a Somali administration - The largest stadium in the country was built under a Somali administration - The most iconic hotels and resorts in the country like the Al-Uruba Hotel were built by Somalis - Hundreds of miles of road and streets were paved and established under a Somali administration. - The Old Port City was established and sustained for a millenium by successive Somali city-states, kingdoms and empires: (this pre-Italian illustration only covers a quarter of the entire city) Ofcourse he will deny historic evidence and rather resort to revisionism because his black heart is clearly "anti-Somali". His loyalty is with a clan, and its chieftain, not a people or their country. As for the Mogadishu-Nairobi comparison, in the future a regenerated Somali Capital can easily reclaim its crown as the most beautiful major city in East Africa, this combined with many other beautiful revitalised Somali cities like Kismayu, Garowe, Bosaso, Merka, Barawa, Galcaio, Burco, Hargeisa, Berbera and you will be witness to the rise of the Somali Phoenix. When that happens, watch how fast all the anti-Somalists from all corners of Somaliwayn start waving the blue flag. Two examples of Somali beauty that can't be compared to dumb glass towers - dubbed skyscrapers - that are only half-full and eating up all the much needed electricity:

In my gullible early days of s-life.com, when I was still single, I agreed to a meet up with a Dutch-Somali sister who lived in the same city, and from the pics we send one another I was mesmerised, but just to be safe I wore a big scarf that covered half of my face and I observed her from afar like 007. Yikes, that was the last time I ever agreed to something like that again. I don't know why she tried to trick me though, its not like I would fall into her arms if she explained the reasons behind her fake-photos trap, or maybe she wanted to kidnap me like that film Stephen King's "misery"? lol. I did meet the real sister of the pics in a mall, but after an hour I realised she's to high-maintainance. BTW; I do know of a Somali brother and sister that succesfully met eachother through the internet. Civil war scattered their families to different continents, yet the world-wide-web united them. Its like the movie "The Adjustment bureau", the old plan is determined to be realised. ps; I wouldn't recommend a sister meeting up with someone on her own.

For healthy hair: -Two spoons of Olive-oil - gently massage your hair and scalp twice a week. - On both days wrap a towel around your head for 15 min to maximise the sudden surge of blood circulation to your follicles. - Wash it out with a non-sulfate containing shampoo(if you have curly hair, sulfate shampoos are your nr.1 enemy) - Wrap your head again with a different towel for the same duration and then let your hair dry naturally. - Eat sufficient amounts of protein - Take a multi-vitamin everyday, besides the myriad of goodness therein, it also contains Vitamin E and Biotin, which are very good for your hair. - Visit a Barber once every two months.

I got a kick from rotating around Space, subhanallah, how insignificant we humans and planet Earth are. We are most definitely not alone. This wondrous masterpiece we call universe serves a bigger purpose that's beyond our comprehension, its like an ant or a bee trying to understand our world in its entirety, from the species in the oceans to the various countries established on this planet, or the myriad of cultures and languages. A bee or an Ant is completely unaware of the Glaucus Atlanticus, yet it does exist and vice-versa: The Universe is to us what the world is to insects.

Somali parents and Indian parents both want their sons and daughters to succeed at school, at the work-place and society in general. A display of bankrupt - red-herring - verbal acrobatics won't change this simple fact.

Mohamed said his government believes “this is the worst possible time to be distracted by untenable election processes and the divisive campaigning that will inevitably take place.” He said the election diversion will also offer Al-Shabab “an opportunity it will take full advantage of.” That's the whole point, to give the neolithic organisation; Al-Shabaab breathing space, and perpetually stalemate the situation in Somalia until the conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have been delt with, and a new theatre of war is needed for the increasingly irrelevant NATO and the newly born AFRICOM. The amount of agendas against this country, be they international, regional, local, economical, historical or ideological is so mind boggling and so intense, even the most united and wealthy countries in the world would shake at their foundations if faced with such sinister pressure. Therefore, he said, the president has proposed extending the transitional federal institutions for 12 months in the belief that a further year of political stability and progress on security “will create a chance for real and fair elections in which potentially the public can take part.” Common sense indeed. More than a dozen useless transitional extensions were supported by the IC with no tangible results to speak off and which only made the conflict worse. Now that there is progress being made from security to the establishment of institutions, suddenly no more extensions? What a joke!

Somali communities' key to success is allignement and close-relationships with well-established model minorities: Australia = Koreans are the key. Canada = Chinese/ Jews are the key -- Somali Canadians have already taken the initiative there. United Kingdom = Indians are the key Netherlands = Indonesians are the key America = I think Somalis there are holding their own (outside of a few dumb fools, and the terrorism stigma.) etc. The experiences of these model minorities in the jobmarket/education sector and society in general could be very beneficial for Somali progress.

The Simpleton's way of thinking when confronted with any country in the world, is to focus on the "leader" or the "junta" and be completely oblivious to the mega structure the country itself represents, that is enabling stability, which in the case of Kazakhstan equals: - Higher standards of living that continues to grow. - Children going to school, and universal literacy. - A pension system that is the envy of the region. - Flourishing domestic and international commerce. - Low infant/maternal mortality rate. - Non-existant refugee problem - Vast majority of the population living above the poverty line. - No Brain-drain - Culture and Sports blooming across the country. - Secured borders etc. A simpleton however is incapable of processing all of this. Indeed I would never condone oppression, nor dictatorships, but in both cases the mega-structure providing the above is still in place. Reforms should be encouraged, but the complete destruction of the state is suicide. The Kazakhs have their house in order, kudos to them. They will find a way to reform themselves into an even better country. Kazakhstan to raise per capita income by 50% by 2016 (SRI) - Kazakhstan plans to increase per capita income to $15,000 by 2016, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his address to the Astana Economic Forum on Tuesday. Kazakhstan’s GDP per capita already rose from $700 a year in 1994 to almost $10,000 in 2010. - Link Literacy rate: 98.4% Very impressive!

The Somali Queen, a wonderful beauty Turns darkness to light, this universal cutie Pushes me to new heights, to fulfill my duty Her strength and loyalty continues to inspire me. Her insight and intelligence has always been the key that relieves my chest of the anxiety and doubts, that sometimes plague me. Describing her loveliness, I wouldn't know where to begin. Shall I start with her playful hair, or her gold-copper colored skin? Whenever she smiles, I know my heart is wealthier than that of a thousand Kings. and so the butterflies within me, akin to the whirling Dervishes, never fail to spin.

Girls, what turns u off when it comes to a somali brother?
Chimera replied to Shankaroon's topic in General
What drives a bitter person(s) to spend so much time on a group they clearly disdain and dislike? This has always been a mystery to me. Is it somekind of a re-assurance that the life-choices they have made (or are going to make) were the right ones? If I felt this way about the sisters, I would stay 1-km away from anything to do with them let alone create silly pretentious videos on youtube with anecdotes about the behaviour of some of them that clearly does not represent the majority of sisters let alone 95%. "Bitterness is like drinking poison, and expecting the other person to die" -
NGONGE = utter waste of talent! This story with a beginning, middle and an uplifting end in paper/hardback would see me buying one for myself and several dozen more for my friends. Multi-dimensional Somali characters in a realistic comical situation? = Win/win.

Very amusing, considering I created a topic entitled Somali Islamic Scholars years back and nobody showed interest, nor added more scholars. This new crop of SOLers - excluding Ms Moons & Vans - are a real disappointment in my opinion.

Hmmm...that wasn't necessary Admin, his insults don't bother me, like NGONGE would "their just words on a screen" Btw ahmed ani af Somali waan qori kara, waan akhriin kara iyo waan ku hadli kara, lakiin af Ingiriis wa luuqada qofkasta forumkan ku jira cistiicmaala. Markaas maxaad iga rabta? You live in Canada sxb, don't pretend you're writing your venom from Somalia itself. Salaam
