  1. A gothic classmate once bit me in the neck during geology. She really believed she was a vampire. I said 'B...ch, you crazy?' in Dutch, and then sat somewhere else.
  2. Somalia is 10-12 million. However this is to our advantage, our resources have a greater effect on the overall welfare of the country. An export volume of $2.5 billion has a higher impact on Somalia than it has on Kenya and Ethiopia. A remittances figure of $2.6 billion translates into a bigger piece of the pie than for our neighbours, Eritrea is making 17 + % gains a year. That's roughly an extra 0.5 billion added every year to their economy, however in per capita terms its massive because of the small population, which would take a country like Ethiopia many years to replicate.
  3. 1985-1990 Somalia - $836 Kenya - $300 Ethiopia - $120 Tanzania - $200 In today's money that would amount to Somalia - $2508 Kenya - $900 Ethiopia - $360 Tanzania - $600 We know countries like Ethiopia and Kenya made significant gains in growth annually, hence why their current GDP per capita is higher than the above figures in today's money. However, Somalia never declined in terms of annual growth, if we are to believe the CIA world factbook, there was an annual growth rate of 2.4% (most likely a very conservative estimate). Therefore for Somalia to have a current gdp per capita of $600, there would have to have been a significant drop to $200 in the 1990s, but no such drop ever occurred. Instead a decline of two hundred dollars based on prewar govermental inflation was taken into account and the figure of $600 was from then on permanently cemented in all the studies and journals on the economy of Somalia simply out of convenience rather than accuracy. Is there politics behind this? It would look very strange for a 'failed state' to be economically richer than all of its neighbours,, not to mention it would increase the economic clout of the country to between $25 billion -$30 billion, and place the country in the top 15 of Africa. The static figures are almost comical, and mathematically illogical. I believe the Central Bank of Somalia should issue a rebasing of the economy as soon as possible to determine the size of the economy, and incorporate the informal sector. The 1990 economy is completely different from the 2012 economy.
  4. I just finished season 1, this is a good show, but I say this purely based on the actors performances and the cinematography. I don't see why this would only be for 'privileged white women' considering in the show they aren't so privileged at all, in fact one is left with the feeling that in the 60s all women were the 'property' of every male they encountered, unless they're with a male-relative. The sales-pitches are brilliant though, the possibilities were endless back then.
  5. Who said I haven't? I keep my private life, private.

  7. So many years pushing the greatness and beauty of Puntland, and where does Dr Osman go on vacation? Anywhere but Puntland! Somalis have no principles, they will measure their tuulos against one another, but none want to make it a better place and actually live there. The concept of going to any part of Africa before Somalia is alien to me, if I go it will be to the motherland. Son, I am disappoint!

As soon as I see them from a distance I make sure I don't look at their direction. I'd like to avoid them as much as possible. And then the sisters say 'where all the good brothers at?'
  9. Mogadishu could potentially have the best skyline in East Africa, any current construction that will compromise or prevent this from happening will be torn down in the future. I will make sure of it!

There is a child involved, so I'm not going to rub your head my friend, or pat you on the back and tell you how good of a person you are like the other members here. I'm providing you a healthy dose of honesty for your own sake and that of the child. While I do think you have what it takes to be a good father, there is also a significant degenerate side to you that we are well familiar with. If I was an orphan I would want to be adopted by a parent that is in it for the long-haul. You should do your feasibility studies, ask parents who adopted children how they're coping and how their lives have changed. Remember with an adopted child it takes time for the parent to actually genuinely love the child, unlike the fruits of your loins with whom you have a direct sentimental connection at birth. Do you have the patience, the stamina and the resources to raise a child, one that might not be aware of the sacrifices you have made to get them a nice home and a better future? Raising a child will be a thankless job, though a very fulfulling one when the child becomes a successful adult. However do not expect the type of compliments you received from your lady-boss or from the SOLers on a daily basis, your duty will be to minimize the fact that the child is adopted in the first place, and solidify your presence as his parent and guardian.
  12. If you have a loved one, just go with her to the cinema, afterwards have some dinner and then just chill. That's what i'm going to do. Its nice.

OMG, y'all have to see this kid. the force is strong with him and we get along very well. i spoke to my boss there about the options available in terms of adoption. she said that i was 'truly a man of the people' and that my time devoted to the children there was 'exemplary' and 'worthy of setting an example' . You don't seem the father type Alpha, I'm being serious here. Adopting a child is not a game, the kid is not a Tamagotchi. You need to think long-term, because I presume you will want to get married one day and your wife will want to have children that came from her womb. Do you have the stamina to raise multiple kids including the adopted one, and will you show the same care? We all know your a self-obsessed individual with a short attention span, who would abandon the boy two years down the road, the way Paris Hilton discards men on a weekly basis. Personally I wouldn't trust you with a cat, let alone a child.
