New Somali passport approved Aweys Osman Yusuf Mogadishu 11, Oct.06 ( Sh.M.Network) For the first time, the Somali cabinet ministers have approved the establishment of new Somali passport Hussein M. Aideed, the interim government’s interior minister and acting prime minister, has briefed journalists at the meeting the cabinet held at the Somali tenuous government base, Baidoa 245 km southwest of the capital Mogadishu. The finance minister Hassan Mohammed Nour Shati-gaduud said the new Somali passport would be composed of four parts · Civilian passport. · Diplomatic passport. · Workers’ passport · Travel document. Hussein Aideed pointed out the passport establishment contract was given Just Solution Limited based in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, adding that the Somali citizens buying the passport would cost them $100 inside the country while Somalis in neighboring countries or Europe and America would cost them $150. The Somali federal government has made deal with JSL reportedly financed in Malaysia that it would take a profit of 53.3% while the rest belongs to JSL. Aideed said 65 individuals would be trained to fill in the government’s traveling department, adding that creating national armed forces had also been granted. He said Somalia’s defense minister Barre Hirale had submitted the sketches to develop the Somalia’s national arms. source

Dadaab Refugee Camp - Mohammed Abdi Guhad sits idly in the shade of a makeshift wooden kiosk, explaining his plan to return to Somalia and fight for the country's powerful Islamist movement. He said: "I would rather kill than stay here doing nothing", rubbing his hands in anticipation of leaving this dusty United Nations refugee camp in northeast Kenya, where he had lived since fleeing unrest in his native land six years ago. The 24-year-old's goal of going back to join the Islamists would send him in the opposite direction of many of his countrymen and women who were scrambling to leave Somalia for camps like this in neighbouring Kenya in record numbers. But, as thousands crossed the border the other way fearing large-scale conflict between the Islamists and the weak government, Guhad was among a growing number of poor, young Somalis at this overcrowded camp ready to head home for combat. Sympathisers 'returning to Somalia' He said: "I would not need money because I would be able to take up a gun and get what I need." Aden Mohammed, 18, who planned to take up arms for "whoever will bring peace" to Somalia after he exhausted his educational options in Dadaab next year, said: "If one has nothing to do when he is hungry, he can do anything." It was a trend that deeply concerned aid workers who were worried that their return would fuel unrest in a nation that had been ripped asunder by 16 years of anarchy and saw parallels with Afghan refugees in camps in Pakistan a decade ago. source

Originally posted by Mr. Red Sea: quote:Originally posted by Mansa Munsa: Mr. Red Sea, are you saying that the Sheikh was hired by the unionists to be a somali hollywood actor, and this whole saga is an outright lie?, I think if the Sheikh is a known figure who is in Hargeisa Jail as I write this post, the rational quesition would be when did he get the leisure time to be a participant in this clip video showing his ordeal. Moreover, isn't CID agency one of the institutions of your adminstration after all?... WAGAR IYO WACDARAHA ADUUNKA, Inadeer Mansa Munse, you are very bright individual but sometimes I can't help butwonder where has rational and ability to think wisely without such assumptions gone. Needless to say, the torture was true, however not the way shown in that vidoe.Sh.Maxamed said he was tortured, but the man in the vidoe is NOT him, I repeat not him.there two different issues that need to be seperated, one being has the shiekh being tortured? which is yes and those responsible will be brought to be questioned their actions, but is the vidoe also authentic, which is no, and thus those who have acted it out must be held responsible for spreading such a graphic images depicting lies and propaganda. That is all I stand, waxan kalee aad sheegayso waaban ka dhacsanay anigu. sxb let's say the video is fake but like you said the torture of the shaykh really did happen hasn't the video done it's purpose and that's highlight the torture of this shaykh if it wasn't for that video would we today have known that the shaykh was tortured? i'm not so sure we would!

Aweys: Who told you this? We are still preparing for this organizational process because we believe it would be wrong for the Islamic Courts' structure to continue to be based on tribal considerations. i knew it! you see give these brave men some time and they will deliver Originally posted by Rahima:]Was it a secret that the courts were established along tribal lines to deal with their moryaan? never denied they were established in that matter you obviously misinterpreted the ''i knew it'' part of my post ''i knew it'' as in the ICU will eventually become a larger organisation with somalis from all walks of life and backgrounds participating in it this is something i stated on this board a month ago If i misunderstood, excuse the post. ''me'' i know but the maro incident is being used on multiple forums as a tool to divert the attention from real issue's like the ones i mentioned before i always hear that TFG is the only legitimate entity in somalia that has the right to represent this blue flag according to the international community i wonder what our brothers in somali galbeed were feeling when the entity that claims to represent them since they are part of the 5 star flag invited ethiopians this blue flag right now is being abused far greater by this entity than what a soldier not ordered by his superiors did the people of the blue flag are being neglected by this entity therefore i wish this puppet government stops abusing this flag it's an insult to all the great people MMA and you mentioned who died for this maro -

Somaliland Wadaado head to Mogadishu for an unknown mission
Chimera replied to Libaax-Sankataabte's topic in Politics
The Islamist court movement, which by now has captured most of Somalia, has made it clear that it wants Somalia reunited, overturning the former British colony of Somaliland's unilateral declaration of independence in 1991, accepted by 97 percent of the people in a referendum - in sharp contrast to the rest of Somalia. While Somaliland has been successful in building a peaceful, orderly and highly democratic state during the last 15 years, Islamist movements have been allowed to thrive, causing fear in Hargeisa that the population may support an Islamist intervention. oxymoronic
