  1. Thanks Ibtisam! Good point at explaining why certain issue's are more prominant among the masses than others. In the years 2015/2025/2030 etc however people will still be having these type of discussions about Palestine as the people in the 60s/70s/80s/90s/ before us were having the same debates all the way to the 00s because neither the Arab side(governments) nor the Western side care enough about the noble plight of the Palestinians to do something about it, while the conflicts in countries like Iraq,Afghanistan and Somalia will have long ended by then.
  2. Originally posted by The Useful Demagogue: Adam Isreal baa la cabsiiyey. Saaxib, they will be overrun in hours. 14 million cannot fight over half-billion. Simple. China and India with their combined population of 116 billion have a better chance at overrunning the US than the Arab world has with Israel.
  3. Hezbollah, Hamas those conflicts are skirmishes not conventional wars! It's here where the Arabs are the underdogs. The real wars against actual armies is where the Israelis were fighting for their survival and repulsed their enemies. Sure they received help but so did the Arabs from 'other places'(remember the superpower called the Soviet Union?). Please don't create the impression that without the US the Arab armies would simply walk all over the Israelis cause that's just laughable. Even moreso today now that they have an advanced tradition of military technology that even the Chinese are trying to purchase. Shame on the Arab governments for allowing the Israelis to surpass them in terms of technology. When Richard the Lionheart hit the muslims with Trebuchets Salah ad din and his military officers replied in kind.
  4. ^wow A&T - Currently the Israelis are unique in the region when compared to neighbouring armies who have the same military technology or with their wealth could upgrade themselves to the Israeli level(including Nukes see my Twenty countries theory'). There is no Palestinian army at the moment facing them, the armies there facing are undisciplined Arab armies with generals and officers picked by hand through family favors not meritocracy. I'm very confident a Palestinian army with the same military technology of Egypt or Syria would do more damage to the IDF then the armies of the next 15 arab countries combined, much the same way the IDF devoured the same Arab armies in the past.
  5. Originally posted by Resistance: Adam-Zayla , nicely put but who do think needs to start the wheel rolling ( cauase whoever does it will pay the hihgest price ) The West is not the 'world' as Iranians have shown, so cutting ties with them is not the end of the 'world'. Problem with the Arab world is that they have a rich corrupt elite consisting of dynastic families and generals who bend over backwards to please the West. Their populations however are different mentally wise but it's their lack of will that keeps their corrupt elite in power unlike Somalia where revolution after revolution takes down governments for good or bad, eliminates warlords and crooks and this continues till this day (for good or bad). Maybe it's time the Arab populations did something about their unrepresentative governments and put in place real governments with policies and a state of mind resembling their own. Why is it that the Arabs have to do something, how about the rest of so-called Muslims nations ( Pakistan, Indonesia ) is it not their responsibilty as well. The Arabs have a trillion $ in savings, neither Pakistan or Indonesia have that kind of money hence they don't have the incredible potential the Arab world has. Pakistan itself is dealing with a neighbouring Juggernaut over Kashmir but they too have the same problem as the Arab world with their corrupt elite of generals and political families And have the Palestines really helped themselves, they can't even unite themselves. Know this: a sinister billionaire could enter the life of a random happy loving couple and turn their marriage of equality, compromise and love into one of hatred, paranoia and mistrust through calculated schemes. You can't really hold it against them for feeling this way about eachother when a whole team of saboteurs played tricks on them.
  6. 'me' - That's not fair, yes our people suffer the same atrocities as the Palestinians (one could argue 'even worse') but it's us that in 1991 after chasing out the dictator turned our country into a scene from War of the Worlds. We allowed Ethiopia - a poor country - to have the upperhand in our affairs. There current dominance is not a testimony to their strength but simply a clear sign of our 'weakness'. It's at this point that we differ from the Palestinians. They never had a country as strong as Israel comparable to the Somalia/Ethiopia struggle for regional dominance they were at a disadventage from the start because they had no state to speak off. Ibti - I agree they have their hidden demons too and have paid the price for that much the same way as we are suffering from the actions of our hidden demons. To stay on topic: The symbolic gestures such as re-calling/expelling ambassadors might look nice but they will have little effect on Israel itself cause they have the US backing them. The demonstrations also are really pointless in my opinion but they do show that people 'like and want to protest' about certain horrible situations more then they do about others that might equal or surpass the one their demonstrating about. It's like a trend, nobody is really bothered anymore about Iraq that has lost 1 million of it's sons and daughters and continues to lose hundreds every month, Palestine is IN now not Iraq, not Congo, not Chechnya and not Somalia! i think that's what's bothering 'me'. A&T - You are simply agreeing with my point without even realizing it! The Israelis are human but they are more motivated then their enemies and have shown that in the wars with their neighbours for the last 6 decades which were considered by them 'wars of survival', if you cannot acknowlegde this then you haven't paid attention to the conflict in the Levant. If we played a game of football either one of our teams could win the game but if i took the relatives of your team hostage and told you losing the game would mean they would be executed, the chance of me and my team now winning the game becomes much, much smaller, but if you for some reason got a hold of my family and the families of my team and told us the same then the odds become even, it's not rocket science sxb Would Ahmed and Rashid from Tikrit fight as hard as Najeeb from Bethlehem? Would Sarah from Cairo fight as hard as Zainab from Jerusalem? never mind answering brother for i have allready processed the most logical answer myself!
  7. A&T - Sure there civilian population might fear death but it's not them i'm referring to in my post! They have the most motivated army in the WORLD, when they fight conventional wars they fight with the mentality that losing is 'extinction' Losing is not an option for them! If you enter in a war with them you better be going with the frame of mind that your probably going to die or you might as well stay put cause that's the mentality there soldiers have in conventional wars. I don't get your analogy of a person that's highly motivated but unarmed is inferior to you because you have a rifle? Is this a reference to the balance of military technology between the Arab States and Israel? If so then your analogy is wrong cause the Egyptians,Syrians, Jordanians and Iraqies all had state of the art military hardware Strength Egypt: 240,000 Syria, Jordan, and Iraq:307,000 957 combat aircraft 2,504 tanks Israel: 264,000 (incl. 214,000 reserve troops) 300 combat aircraft 800 tanks Six Day War Multiple armies with superior military technology and numbers are defeated by a single army who actually goes after the retreating armies and conquers more territory from them You need a Palestinian army who's soldiers have actual relatives in Palestine not soldiers who's families are safely tucked away in foreign countries!
  8. I feel sad for the Palestinians. Their noble quest for Statehood continues to be hi-jacked till this day by disingineous so-called 'brotherly' governments even the Turkish government with it's 'biteless protests' is only doing it for domestic votes. The Arab world is building rotating skyscrapers (architecturally speaking once considered 'fantasy'). They are building entire new cities on water but somehow they cannot defeat the Israelis? Sure the Israelis receive arms and subsidies from the west but make no mistake it's Israeli military geniuses that have developed Israel's military technology to the point where even the Americans are doing joint deals with them. It's Israeli economic geniuses that build Israel's powerfull economy. The Palestinian diaspora is said to be the most educated diasporic group in the world, why is all this potential not being used? Why don't the arabs take in 100 000 Palestinian men and women and train them as soldiers?. I know for sure they will do a better job in fighting the highly motivated Israeli soldiers than the Egyptians,Jordanians or the Syrians who all have their own countries unlike the Palestinians and therefore won't fight as hard as them. Every Palestinian government trying to represent the masses collapses because Israel controlls all their funds(which come from western donors btw). It's ridiculous that Hurricane Katrina sees the mass donation of billions of dollars from Arab countries yet the Palestinian government is at the mercy of the Israelis because nobody has the balls to back em and actually put their money where their mouth is. The Arab world needs to adopt the mentality of the Iranians and realize the west is not their friend, never has been and never will be. There looking out for their own interest which has not been the same as the Arabs since Lawrence of Arabia. Twenty Arab countries should start a synchronized nuclear bomb project with each country having it's own program. The US can't bomb or invade twenty countries at the same time so they might take out 4 or 5, your still left with 15/6 countries armed with a nuke which will act as an deterrence against the Israeli Nukes With the nuclear option out of the way, the 100 000 Palestinian soldiers with unlimited monetary support from the Arab world can now enter the land of their ancestors and permanently free it. Unlike the unmotivated armies Israel devoured in the past they will now be fighting soldiers just as - if not more - motivated than the IDF soldiers The Israelis are not a race of Supermen/women they are just highly motivated!
  9. ^Your examples reminds of the time when me and my younger brother cycled in circles around our neighbourhood(in a town where me and my family were the only Somalis and with another Pakistani family the 'only muslims') and then were called back by two Somali guys in their 20s who asked us if we were Somalis too. They recently moved here with their young wives and instantly became friends of our family with one of the Somali guys even teaching us every saturday morning Alif-ba-ta..etc When i think back at that first encounter it's kinda of funny cause they gave us a '25 gulden' note (old dutch currency that's like 15 Euro/18 dollar or something) which gave me the impression that it was part of our culture for new Somalis to give other Somalis money. A misconception that was swiftly killed by my mother when she slapped me for asking a visiting martii money lol. btw me and my brother spend the 25 gulden on so much chocolate and candy that till this day there are certain chocolate/candy types i still can't stomach
  10. MMA - I would have respect for him if he fought these claims and vindicated himself in court( my respect for Michael Jackson soured through the roof when i saw him mentally and physically struggling his way through the most humiliating period of his life with two million camera crews from around the world following his trial which ended up declaring him not guilty on all counts, before this verdict i had trouble listening to his music) Sangub is not Lincoln Burrows with some shadowy rich company flooding the system with all kinds of rescources to get the poet in Jail or death, i think those who claim this is all a 'set up' are just excusing their shamefull blind support for a possible 'disgusting criminal' who decided to run. If he's innocent then he should return to fight the claims and show us why he's innocent! Let me return to the Michael Jackson trial: anyone who followed it in 2005 could easily see the lies of the family and how Mike got set up and the vindication shows that the jury felt the same. If Sangub were to go to trial and Somali news outlets followed the case thoroughly then Sangub fans or simply neutral people like me could see the story from his side and our opinions would be based on that. He doesn't give me much to work with, therefore i'm leaning towards the other side. I just hope the lady if she indeed was violated as a young person can put the horrible experience behind her and have a nice peacefull life with her husband and children! Must be a terrible feeling to see your fellow countrymen praising your childhood demon while at the same time dismissing you as a liar just because he's somekind of a wonderpoet but hey we turn massmurderers into presidents, warlords into CEO's and ministers, so why not turn a molestor into a wonderpoet? who btw is above the law!
  11. ^Well to be fair MMA though the original thread started with a discussion about a booming Somali city, the topic starter did bring it on himself by posting an image of a controversial person which logically derailed the discussion, the equivalance of this would be me posting a topic about Los Angeles and then adding an image of Michael Jackson(another controversial person some people are divided about - well in his defense atleast he was vindicated in court unlike the person in question who ran)
  12. Stephen King based all of his work on dreams such as yours and he's one of the greatest authors in the Horror genre. The popular book Twilight also originates from a simple dream. I personally know what you mean some of these dreams are better than the 100 million $ blockbusters of Hollywood. I dreamed a week or two weeks ago of a Native American giant in New York city, he had two heads with individual necks, one was a normal human head and the other was a Snakehead. I was in one of those metro things that go through the city. The giant crushed all the buildings and our train stopped, everybody was scared as hell. I was with people - friends - who I in real life had never seen before. The snakehead of the Giant could extend it's neck unlimited and made it's way through the rubble of the city and then stopped at our train. I swear to god on my life there was a moment of silence untill he suddenly began to sing 'bad boys bad boys whatchu gonna do, whatchu gonna do when they come for you....then pushed us of the tracks which was considerably high. I woke up because of the feeling that i was falling to my death( like butterflies in my gut or something) Now that's action! (btw Bad Boys II was on tv that evening which explains the comical suspense breaker)
  13. ^Where is your sense of humour sxb? It's funny to see Duke get confused and lost in the self- constructed labyrinth of his, which made him end up supporting 'me' in the debate instead of himself lol
  14. Lol Poor duke summary: Duke: Looters inc!! Me: There businessmen! Duke: No! they are looters Me: Why? Duke: because they stole property and love war and anarchy! Me: Those were Warlords not businessmen Duke: dear lad you know nothing about Mogadishu, warlord so and so owned this and that which makes them all looters. Me: wasn't so and so part of the TFG? and wouldn't that make the TFG part of looters Inc? Duke: No! so and so were prominant businessmen LMAO!
  15. Haneefa sister which country/culture in the world has an exclusively native derived cuisine? From which people did the Italians get their pasta? exactly the Arabs!( or the Chinese if the Marco Polo tale is true) Who gave the French their French fries? -> The Dutch/Belgians etc
  16. No MMA my pancakes(canjeelo-type or the western type) always stick to the pan, i'm a pro at scrambled pancakes though lol It's funny how lots of non-Somalis are discovering the delicious taste of the Rice + Banana combo! KK make sure it's that spongecake one mmmm...
  17. I was searching the web for Somali dishes and i came across an amazing site: Tammy's Somali Home Really amazing sister that Tammy, i get nostalgic from seeing all of those dishes and sweets (especially the cakes) that mothers would bring to duqsi every weekend or to weddings etc

Thats the one thing I like about Dahri he takes, and never gives anything back. He used to chase NORF's parents around in the Siyad days and now they sing for him. What talent.. Do you take pleasure in other people's misfortune? your schadenfreude disgusts me, i think you should be warned for bringing in other members relatives in these discussions wether it's true or not. And Riyaale has a shady bloody history, Somalia will produce the right type(Basically the complete opposite of both Xaajixundjuf and Duke)eventually insha-allah
  21. Stress keeps you focused, these sedatives are just a cowardly escape from reality, you need to face it head on!
  22. Would be fun to take all the scum of Somalia's political landscape - from the warlords to the fanatics - gather them together in the Mogadishu Stadium and let 200 Spanish bulls loose on them haha evendo my throat hurts because i'm sick, i just can't stop laughing, imagine them all tripping over eachother as they are chased by a bull LOL
