  1. Xiin: Keep it coming brother, keep it coming!
  2. See first page, someone(JB) referred to him as the new Amin Amir and i disagreed. There is no need to classify them under different categories as both artists have art depicting Somali leaders and political events, but Amin Amir enters a territory where i don't get the 'message' or the 'point' behind/of his art Ex: There is World wide outrage because a well known politician raped a 7 year old girl, now tell me which sick political cartoonist would literally depict an old man having illegal sex with a minor? That would be sick right? wouldn't you question the mind of that artist? well alot of the times Amin Amir's images are exactly like that.

They demanded the Somali gave his cellphone and money, and some saw the criminals were drinking. Here: http://thestaronline.com/news/story.asp?file=/2009 /1/24/nation/3109370&sec=nation states the police already took action on the case. I'd like to state that Malaysians don't harbor any ill feelings towards Somalis. Like any other country, sure there are some racists here and there, but no normal Malaysian would resort to this sick act. Salaam Brother/sister? Don't worry nobody here will think of Malaysia society as a racist one, if the victim was Chinese or Pakistani a similar disturbing incident would have happened to him Most Somalis are aware of the immense brotherly support Malaysia has given to Somalia as the Somali Malaysians who are graduating from multiple Malaysian Universities are a good example of this brotherlyness between Somalia and Malaysia No need to apologize for something you didn't do I am interested though in your daily interaction(if any?) with Somalis in Malaysia, would you like to share them with us?

That was never the case in SL and PL. For lasting peace in Somalia, it has to come from Somalis. They should go back to the qudhac tree and let the elders sort it out, that's the Somali way and it works. I know it's a long shot. SL & PL would never have enjoyed the relative peace and stability over the last decade if either Hargeisa or Garoowe was the old capital city of Somalia
  5. Well i can't look into Amin's mind when he does his work, so fair enough. That has to be Arraweelo: - Male Servants - Female warriors - Whip lol
  6. I'm suspicious about Amin Amir, there is something very sinister about his style and art, the fact that his work is always used as a political tool to mock whatever political side is being depicted is a good indication of this, while this brother on the other hand prefers to paint in a positive style, which i personally can appreciate much more. this is clearly Queen Araweello
  7. 2006 changed everything, there is no need to look back at the ancient past, the path to reconciliation started from that year on. - The year when the population finally grew tired of the warlords and gave birth to a grass roots movement that obliterated the warlords and their petty chiefdoms and despite with all their foreign support they are still unable to return to their previous positions - The year 6 months of nabad was delivered to a population that had forgotten the joy of stability and peace and this period is an era the people on the ground will never forget, it's this yearning of ''returning to this era of nabad'' that has completely destroyed the psychological stumble block that is so common in peoples that have experienced years of war - which is the loss of hope - The year when the invisible hands that instigated conflicts and shipped arms to different sections over the last decade were forced to show themselves out in the open after witnessing all these positive changes. Today they are all naked, cold and confused with all their sinister plans thrown in the bin, all they have been left with is a bitter shamefull defeat. Somalia Ha noolaato!

All roads led to Rome and they brought the terrible Goths there, why would you want all roads to lead to Kismayu if this theoretically could mean the end of the city in case of a backlash? Why would anyone propose absolute monarchy when we are still paying the price of a absolute dictatorship? Maybe i misread your post xiin(and i apologize if i have)and the posts of everybody else, but my choice of using the words: ''Supremacists galore'' could be explained as a reaction originating from observing over the last couple of weeks a pattern and a steady rise of intolerance, indecency and the pure degradation of respect towards one another on SOL. You are definitely misreading my post, Adam. You are (quite uncharacteristically) using plain literalism. Pedantry aside, all roads do not, and will not lead to Kismayo. You and I know that. Even those that lead to that city today go through important places like Dhoobley and Kabsuuma . Likewise, I hope you don’t believe both Farax B’s question and my quick rejoinder were serious symptoms of prejudice and pride, respectively. Clearly, this is an Adam exception. In my line of profession, when exceptions are thrown they are handled with care . To my defense, i was listening to Somali music as i shifted through this topic, something i normally never do, and it seems i was barking at the wrong tree, but my point about the 'rise of intolerance, indecency and disrespect in SOL'' was spot on
  9. One of the actors was carrying a secret camera throughout the production period, this is why Aaliyah got a hold of the movie so fast, she is in on it.
  10. What a name! at least join the race as Maslax M.S.B man!. If your name was George Ulrich Underhill Bush would you run as 'George Double 'U'' freaking Bush' or try your luck as G.U.U.B? Guub is Texan for good! like honey the steak is guub

I could understand this nightmare scenario being 'good news' if someone like Silaanyo (who's only crime was playing a part in the neglect of the Northern regions of Somalia several times during his early days as minister of planning and minister of commerce in the central government - though i'm not sure wether this talk of neglect was actually true.) was president and leader of SL (and Riyaale was never made president in the first place) since then the outrage/protest at seeing a criminal being put into a high position wouldn't be a contradictory one and feelings of distancing oneself from a goblin like Morgan would be a just one in my opinion. unless ofcourse we are using JB's biased form of pursuing ''justice''
  15. Originally posted by AfricaOwn: ^^ I never claimed any part of her article as acceptable. Even if the claims are true about Riyaale. What do you expect we should d? People like Duke and his line are trying to provoke something that you guys apparently don't see. I don't blind support Riyaale..I support the establishment that he represents. Riyaale will one day go. Duke's posts and topics are more transparent than a Jellyfish, i doubt that there are people here who can't see his true intentions from a mile away. I'm however not interested in him but instead defended Rakiya's integrity and credibility. Qudhac and you were dismissing Rakiya based on laughable conspiracy theories, I would never defend Morgan if the goblin actually succeeded in becoming president because he doesn't represent the true Somalia i believe in and neither should you be offended when a professional human rights activist illuminates a not so nice period of our history, including the perpetrators.
  16. AfricaOwn - There was no 'Somaliland' when this report was published by Rakiya, there was only a educated sister and her concerns for the suffering of her own people which materialized in a book predating both Somaliland and Riyaale's term as president, please process this important fact! Ibti, i agree...i'm out!
  17. Since i'm not getting through... A Little Reminder I would like to take this opportunity to comment on the various responses of certain “clique” within the Diaspora community, who themselves have their own 'hidden' political agenda, on Rakiya Omar’s article. This is an issue that is close to my heart, and is precisely what prompted me to write this article. I have never been so outraged by some of these so-called critics of Rakiya, whose blind defense of Riyaale is bordering on fanaticism. On their, irrational and POLITICALY motivated defense of Riyaale, they have sworn an all out war against one of the most respected human right defenders in Africa and embarked on an all out mission to discredit Ms Rakiya Omar’s reputation and question her professionalism, all in the name of PROTECTING Riyaale. Let me REMIND them, that Rakiya Omar has always held, and will continue to hold, a special place in the hearts of many Somalilanders who respect and think highly of her. Many of us remember Rakiya Omar on TV, relentlessly fighting for our rights and exposing the murderous regime in Somalia in the worldwide media. This young, dynamic Oxford & Cambridge educated activist became a hero in the eyes of many Somalilanders, for she has come through for her people at a time that Somalilanders where feeling very vulnerable and alone in the world and in essence has taken upon her self to be their spokesperson during these trying times. She has since become a source of inspiration and a role model for many young Somalilanders, myself included. Let me also REMIND them once again, that this report, “A Government at War With Its Own People: Testimonies About the Killings and the Conflict in the North” published in New York in January 1990, that they are trying to discredit and dismantle is, as fait would have it, the very one that was responsible for bringing the genocide of the ***** people to the attention of the world media and the major world donors. The report whether they like it or not, carries a lot of weight within international circles and as such should be accorded the respect it deserves. It should be thought of, as Somaliland’s own little treasure and ‘secret’ ammunition against those that committed horrendous crimes against the people of Somaliland. Instead we have, people that are trying to tear it down and make it completely obsolete! Rakiya’s critics or as I would like to call them ‘afmiishaaro’ would like to make us believe that, this person whom we’ve trusted and respected for so long has all of sudden turned bad and tainted, simply because she went against the establishment. They have gone as far as accusing her of tribalism, and even more importantly have trivialized and questioned the credibility of the actual contents in her report, which in my view is a gross injustice to those massacred. This report is the only well researched reputable report of its kind that has systematically documented the genocide of the ***** people. In a later date it will be used as a source of reference to prosecute the likes of Morgan & Gani in an international tribunal. By dismissing this report and its author, and questioning its authenticity, we are in actual fact giving ammunition to our enemies and those who continue to deny our genocide. Look at it this way, if the report was wrong about Dahir Riyaale (which the critics are claiming), what is stopping Gani & Morgan claiming at a later date that it was wrong about them too? Introducing doubt into this equation is all that is needed to bring a non-guilty verdict for the butchers of HARGEISA! These critics failed to understand the bigger picture and what is actually at stake, and the fact that Somaliland is bigger than Riyaale, as is Rakiya Omar and her Report. Her critics have condemned her and maliciously undermined her professionalism, simply because she did her job, she stood by her report and decided to bring the issue of human rights to the elections. Let it be known, that many Somalilanders see the actions of these critics & Afmishaaro, as a slap in the faces of all Somalilanders, and we are not going to sacrifice our dignity and our opportunity to bring to justice those who committed crimes against us, in order to safe guard Riyaale’s re-election. Rakiya Omar is not a POLITICIAN; she’s a human rights advocate who shall continue to fight for justice for all, even if this puts her at odds against the so-called establishment and the Riyaale cronies. She fought and won a bigger battle and came across more formidable adversaries. I truly doubt that Rakiya is fazed in the slightest bit, by Riyaale and his cronies. However, it’s the average Somalilanders, like myself that are extremely upset and furious at the injustice that’s been done to her and her exemplary work, and can’t help but occasionally lash out on her behalf! There you go, the “Silent Majority” has finally spoken. Roda Y Mohamud Social Sciences Major USA Email: roda75_9@hotmail.com http://www.sdwo.com/aragti22.htm
  18. Dear lord, still defending the undefendable? Stop being so disingeneous by insinuating that either Rakiya Omaar or the witnesses Rakiya spoke with in 89' (and who pointed their fingers at Riyaale) had ulterior motives. The article was published in 89', Riyaale was a nobody(politically speaking)then, exactly what logical gain wether in monetary or Political terms would those witnesses get from accusing a corrupt official of the then collapsing Somali goverment, if it was not them simply telling the truth of their recent horrible past, which Riyaale played a terrible part in? Please enlighten me on the significance of the 'inclusion of Riyaale' in Rakiya Omaar's long list of corrupt men and it's significance to Rakiya Omaar's career as a human rights activist? And what's this proof your asking brother Qudhac? A closed 'can of worms' is only a can of worms not yet opened, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!. Let me flip this coin on you, please provide me with proof of heroic tales involving Riyaale during that terrible time. Thousands of Jews were saved in WWII and their descendants today continue to flourish all because of a single man named Schindler and he was only a 'factory boss', Riyaale had considerable power far greater than the german factory boss, so show me proof of this man saving our people during the era of Dictatorship. We do have heroic tales of Somali pilots putting their planes down refusing to bomb innocent populations, soldiers deserting etc, so it shouldn't be hard!. I'm genuinely interested!
