Sherban Shabeel your a interesting person and welcome to the forum. Castle Dracula is really a fine piece of medieval architecture, and one of the places i would love to visit one day! Nur Christianity in Somalia could be traced between the early centuries of the religion all the way to the establishment of Islam in the 7th century AD, there are many crosses and stone structures(churches? ) of a currently unknown pre-Islamic Somali civilization(there is nothing to compare it with regionally so it's not Axum) littered around Somalia which detail a ancient Christian past that flourished besides the native monotheistic religion of Waqism. Chinese writers of pre-islamic times when referring to the religion of our ancestors said that the only deity we believed in was the 'heavens'. All of this could have been illuminated more clearly if proper investigation was done.

Muslims have normalised the 'death of muslims', in our case the civil war is a good example. 5 trillion dollars is circulating in the Islamic world but nobody can produce a alternative to Hollywood? One determined man with a tight budget made a epic movie know as the ''Message'' that continues to inspire people (both muslim and non-muslim) why not follow up on that? The Indians tired of the ''thank you come again'' rubbish did it and their movies are sweeping the globe, a muslim version of this phenomena would be ideal and logical if 'muslims were really concerned with their image and the consequences of bad cinema.

TB treatment success rate in Somalia reaches 89%, says report Tuesday, March 24, 2009 Mogadishu, Somalia (APA) - Tuberculosis treatment success rate in Somalia is 89 percent, according to a medical report issued at the end of a two-week anti-tuberculosis campaign. The TB campaign was co-organized by the Somali National Olympic Committee, the Global Fund and World Health Organization to raise awareness of the curable disease. Global Fund coordinator for south-central Somalia Abokar Ali Hilowle told reporters on Tuesday that more tuberculosis treatment centers need to be opened in Somalia so that the country may keep up with the global target of eradicating tuberculoses by the year 2015. “Currently we have 21,746 tuberculosis cases in Somalia and we hope that there will be a big decrease in that number in the upcoming years,” he said. He called on sick people to go regularly to the tuberculosis treatment centres so that the target of eliminating tuberculoses in Somalia can be reached. Source: APA, Mar 24, 2009

Oh come on!! you can't be serious, why are they spinning around like a Persian dervish during a fistfight? and the film still has the 'documentary' feel to it. Maybe my standards are too high because i watch on a daily basis true masterpieces produced by the Asian world, but still come on.. I pray one day we will see Somali movies depicting our past like Braveheart(Conquest of Abyssinia),the Lion of the Desert(Sayyid & the Dervishes) or high quality Romances(Qabrigii Jaceylka or Aqoondarro waa u nacab jacayl etc) that's when i will start 'rating' or begin using words like 'brilliant' and 'xaax'. This film is probably stuff my parents would love to see but for me it's pure Horror With all these Somalis owning large estates and hotels all over Africa and the Middle East i'm sure they could finance better equipment and expertise.

That's not how it works my friend, only you can see who you have 'rated', therefore show me a 'Prt Scrn' of my profile with your name logged in

Enough with the childish loveydovey stuff, it's time i put you to the test A&T If you want to vindicate yourself then you shouldn't have a problem providing me with evidence such as this: I rated you months ago 5 stars for one of your stories. A person can rate another SOL person only 1 time, so if your really innocent then there should be a 5 star in the 'Prt Scrn' when you click on my profile Ps remember YOU opened this topic so no ''why do you take it to the heart'' or ''stop being silly it's just a rating'' type of rhetoric Big Grin

Legend of Zu Lol they don't even cast us in negative roles let alone postive ones it just goes to show you that for unknown Somali artists like me who are developing epic stories/adventures based on Somalia, the chance of our work ever becoming something like LOTR or Star Wars is just a dream, but Somali audiences would do just fine for me. I think those anime artists should stop selling their work to Hollywood unless they sign contracts similar to the ones they had to sign when they bought Harry potter(J.K R. said 'all British cast' only)

^ Sir Q.A that's a disservice to today's America example: Made on a mere US$15 million budget, with dialogue in Mandarin, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon became a surprise international success. After its US premier at the Hawaii International Film Festival, it grossed US$128 million in the United States alone,[1] becoming the highest-grossing foreign-language film in American history. It has won over 40 awards.

I was schocked when i read that Hollywood studios were raping Avatar (a great epic Asian themed 'anime/cartoon') by casting non-Asians in the lead roles. Seriously Avatar is an Asian 'Lord of the Rings' and it won't work without a predominant asian cast But read this: http://derekkirkkim.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-day-i n-politics-same-old-racist.html Same with Dragonball Z, the lead character 'Goku' is like the 'Superman of Japan' matter fact some claim he is the Japanese answer to America's superman but Hollywood raped the anime and now he will be played by a white actor in the coming movie The craziest and most awesome movie of All time: 'Old Boy' is going to be 're-made' and the leading actor is going to be Will Smith -- WTH??? Why not just buy the distribution rights and screen the original in US theaters? same with Infernal Affairs which became --> Departed(though atleast they made it their own by changing the Asian theme and making it Irish American) Something really wrong in the head of these studio owners because Asian produced movies with all Asian casts like 'Hero' and 'House of flying Daggers' were box office hits in the West(matter fact they grossed more than European films) so clearly Americans have a clear healthy appetite for originality 'rant over'.

Hear,Hear! Train to a Peacefull Somalia! ps Somali entrepreneurs need to really start building railways across Somalia, i always wondered why the previous governments who had the resources simply decided not to build them(i know this is not what the discussion is about, but it stimulated my mind into thinking about a potential 'Railway industry in Somalia')
