Ahmed Abdi Godane & Ibrahim Aghani was never more than tools of the secessionist groups to destabilize southern Somalia. It has been clear that some of Al Shabaab’s activities were more than welcomed in Hargaysa. It gave another justification for the secessionist to break away from Somalia. Thus the defeat of Al Shabaab in Kismayu, Mogadishu, Baidoa and the South is a big setback for Hargaysa who are now scrambling for a new political strategy with regards to destabilizing Southern Somalia.

The Jubaland State of Somalia comprises, Gedo, Lower Juba and Middle Juba regions of Somalia. The area is rich with resources and man power and it also has a large Diaspora. The creation of this State will go along away to bringing peace and stability to the country. Who oppose Jubaland’s formation? You have a group of desperate groups and individuals led by some Mogadishu based politicians and centralists who view the creation of this State as a big obstacles to their pursuit of central power. Some oppose it out of clear clan view point worried that the large and powerful clan that inhabits Jigjiga and Garisa will have a foothold in Somali politics. Others are worried that a new Puntland is emerging and having another State dominated by the same community would bring untold misery and suffering to their daydreams and damage their ego. I say its high time that communities organize themselves and develop their regions and thus contributing to the greater good of our nation..

Not sure what Sage is complaining about. You already agree that Puntland has contributed a great deal towards ending the transition and the new Federal framework.. No one here is asking for anything except the continuation of Puntland’s development.
