GEN. TUKE: The Other War Criminal To Face Justice
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
Justice shall prevail indeed -
Ngonge awoow you are comparing Tufaax with Liin. How can you compare Somaliland with European countries or North American countries, so what if there are other Somali refugees in the west America it's self is the land of the Immigrants no one can claim America except the red Indians . Wasn't Kenya complaining about Somali refugees in Kenya and even when Somalia was hit by drought and mass famine broke out there , Didn't the Kenyan authorities say somalis must leave our Country.

The AMISOM, Sharif's government or the Clan Militia: Who is in Charge in Mogadishu? the death of a Malaysian cameraman who was shot dead when African Union peacekeepers allegedly fired on his convoy Noramfaizul Mohd Nor was traveling with a convoy of humanitarian workers when a contingent of Ugandan-nationals with AMISOM opened fire, killing Nor and wounding another journalist in Mogadishu. and the fighting between government forces and clan militia in government controlled Dharkinley district have raises some serious questions as to the effectiveness of the government and AMISOM peacekeeping force in Somalia whom both are in charge few years in the war-torn country. The deployment of AU troops with a UN Security Council mandate raised hopes that the 20 years of war was coming to a term. It was reasonable to expect that Head OF AMISOM troops, The President Shikh Sharif would ensure that by now peace was reigning throughout the city. Somalis also hoped that AMISOM troops, who should have learned some good lessons in Uganda military trainings, would come to Mogadishu with a mandate not to shoot Civilians and to never allow any solder to take advantage of civilians. Unfortunately, it seems like déjà-vu. If the safe-haven of Mogadishu is calm and runs smoothly, Clan Militia and warring factions still control much of Bula Huubeey, Dharkinley and Wadjir of Mogadishu. If fighting between Shabab and Government forces has stopped, life has not changed in the city. According to the news report coming from Mogadishu says "The TFG forces were clearing out security checkpoints in the area, when the government forces clashed with soldiers loyal to the Wadajir district commissioner. The endeavor of removing checkpoints was to improve security but was hindered by clan militia loyal to Ahmed Da'i, district commissioner of Wadajir and his deputy. The city is slowly but surely sliding back into this dangerous era where every clan has a check point and becomes comfortable with a false sense of peace and security. Clan militia are still carrying their guns while their bosses are collecting UNDP monthly Allowances . The country is back to where it stood in the 1990s, with uncertain outcome. The fighting against Shabab remnants was scheduled weeks ago is yet to get underway. There seems to be no concrete plan. The Mogadishu security and stabilization process is at a standstill. AMISOM troops have been in and around Hilawaay district for weeks, but rebels are still holding their guns in that district. Accusations of corruption, ineffectiveness and cronyism are piling up, justified or not. Slowly but surely, a case is being made against Mogadishu Mayor Mr., Tarsan just as in the 1990s when warring factions manipulated the peace process, dismissed transitional leaders and prolonged their control on several cities. The intervention of the AU had given hope that the African body would not fall for the same gimmicks that derailed the peace process under the command of AMISOM. However, it seems that Somalia is again headed on the same path of uncertainty, with a leader or Mayor with no real powers, Militia, and factions controlling everything and a peacekeeping force on a standby. Sooner or later, there is bound to be a clash of some sort. The clan militia would have their way. The fact that after the clash in Wadjir district, AMIOSM troops sat by and allowed Clan militia to fight in heavily populated south Mogadishu. The clan militias reached the conclusion that they could do anything and this is how, with green light from Mogadishu Mayor and AMISOM present, they launched their attack on government forces and nobody concerned them. AMISOM, and government officials missed a chance to set an example in Wadajir to capture and arrest the district commissioner and militia leaders. Mogadishu is again the only safe haven in the country and shouldn't be spoiled. This is Somalia's best chance to peace and that AMISOM must play its role and start enforcing peace. The clan militias have to submit to disarmament. And it is time that government cleans up the remnants of Alshabab and gets out of Mogadishu and let Somalia in the interior know there is a government. If the AU troops are shooting the Humanitarian workers and journalist in Mogadishu, they have no reason being there. And if the government cannot guarantee the safety of international aid workers and journalist in "their" areas, they have no business being in government and getting international ai

NGONGE;744426 wrote: Are you/were you not a refugee yourself, Xaaji? Granted that you did not have to suffer the indignity of begging in Mosques (or churches) but you did leave your country and were/are a burden on another. So why do you believe it's ok for you to be accepted in all parts of the world but not for an Oromo to live in SL? Siilaanyo, you and ME are natives of SL but surely a state must judge its citizens in accordance to what they give back and not only according to belonging. I fully accept that Jb is a better citizen than I am (or, probably, you). He is there, earning his wage and spending his money in the country itself. You and I go on holiday. Likewise, the Oromo that cleans my aunties toilets contributes to the country much more than you, I or little AW do. Ninyaho inaad SL taagerto waan ogaa lakin argtida yar kugo maan ogeen. Fix up, saaxib. I am not a refugee i went to search for a better live in the west for me my descendants way before the War started and i am a naturalized citizen i give back to this Country i live in i pay tax i do not beg nor do i live on welfare. You're whole point is they live there and we don't these oromos make our streets unsafe the money they beg goes straight back to Ethiopia they hardly spend money in Somaliland so their money or hard worked money will nor circulate in the country or should i say the money they begged they don't use the public transport the rather walk. whats the point of keeping these species , atleast the koonfurians they rent our houses they spend their money in the country they pay tax and some of them even invest in the country.

N.O.R.F;744425 wrote: Ngonge, qurbojoog waaxid. The measure the government is taking is a good one. Not only will they get the chance to clear up illegal immigrants (not refugees) they will also get the chance to finally put together some sort of strategy on how to monitor visas, provide better border controls etc (I’m assuming this is the main reason otherwise it would be pointless) which in turns provides better security. No one said those being kicked out cannot come back with the right paperwork. This is not about rich and poor or who is and isn’t a citizen. It’s about having the right documents. Isn’t what you would want? Also, this decision will stop much of the ‘tahriib’ traffic through SL to Bosasso (and all the criminal off shoots that come with it). I won’t get into the strain on resources (water, fuel) and the health issues. Get with the programme warya. Well said this should have been done long time ago but thank god we Have Kulmiye and President Siilaanyo

Somaliland Government to Expel All Illegal Immigrants Hargeisa (SomalilandPress)— The Government of Somaliland today announced that it will expel about 100,000 illegal immigrants from the country. The government set one month for illegal immigrants to leave Somaliland, or face punishment, warning Somalilanders found hiding illegal immigrants will also be subject to punishment. The Government plans to repatriate about 80,000 – 90,000 illegal immigrants mainly Ethiopians in one month. In a joint press conference by the deputy minister and the general director for the Interior ministry, General Director of the Ministry of Resettlement, governor of MarodiJeh region and the Mayor of Hargeisa, ordered all illegal immigrants in Somaliland to leave within thirty days, calling upon all Somaliland citizens to help the government in removing illegal foreigners. “The government calls for all illegal persons in Somaliland who were not accepted as a refugee, to leave the country immediately “said the Deputy Minister for Interior Affairs. There are about 470 families from Pakistan, Yemen and Ethiopia accepted as refugees and they will not be affected by this order. The Deputy Minister for Interior Mr. Mohamoud Garaad Soofe explained the reasoning behind this announcement; ” We are concerned that over 100,000 illegal immigrants living in Somaliland, doing whatever they want and going where ever they want. Moreover, large number of illegal immigrants enters the country daily, and for these reasons we are worried that these people can mix with citizens and settle down here, displacing Somaliland citizens…” Mr. Soofe said that illegal immigrants reluctant to obey this order will face the justice, without violating their personal rights. “ We have decided starting from today, 4th September, 2011 until 4 October 2011, the expulsion of all illegal immigrants from Somaliland, and anyone being reluctant or failing to leave the country on the scheduled period will be brought to dealt with according to the Law” said Soofe. The General Director for the Ministry of Resettlement Mr. Ahmed Elmi Barre, said “Somaliland is not a dust bin but a nation with laws and constitution, and we will not tolerate those entering Somaliland without legal documents”. This is not the first time Somaliland government announces the repatriation of Ethiopian immigrants, but hundreds of illegal immigrants were sent home for the last decade, although many of them returned shortly. Some Ethiopian immigrants do low paid jobs, whilst many others resort to begging and are a familiar sight on the streets of the large cities in Somaliland. The issue of illegal immigrants is a thorny one and for some time now there has been a concern about the strain on precious resources and over-crowding in urban areas.
