^^ The Amiir is not worried at all Peace Action this will actually get more supporters for the Alshabaab cause since there are both Ethiopians and Kenyans on the ground. -

Carafaat you are very optimisitic when it comes to president Sheikh sharif time is running out well things can turn out good for him if he invites more Ethiopians, the Amisom forces don't go beyond Mogadishu the Ethiopians today captured beledweyne so that's a start. But who knows he might pull it off and surprise us all.

Turkey takes giant leap toward Africa, prioritizes Somalia on agenda Ministers from various African countries gathered in İstanbul for the Turkey-Africa Partnership Ministerial Review Conference, organized by the Turkish Foreign Ministry. (Photo: AA) Saturday, December 31, 2011 Keeping up its wide-range initiative for closer ties with Africa, Turkey throughout the year added to its foreign missions and sped up ambassadorial appointments all over Africa, but its main focus stayed on Somalia as the country went through its most severe drought in a century in the summer of 2011. As part of the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AK Party) initiative to increase the country's representation to a striking 95 percent of the African continent, Turkey geared up efforts in 2011 to connect to the continent through its newly established embassies, in hopes that the country will reach close to four dozen missions in Africa within a few years. While the country focused on its foreign missions and the appointment of ambassadors to the newly established spots, the Somali famine dominated Turkey's global agenda and even the speech Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered at the General Assembly session of the September UN meeting. Addressing leaders of the world, Erdoğan called on UN nations to act on Somalia, repeating his sorrow over the high number of Somali deaths due to the harshest drought and famine the country has experienced within the last century. In regard to humanitarian efforts, Turkey has championed the delivery of urgently needed supplies ranging from medicine to food, as well as the digging of water wells in the country through a unified relief act organized by the Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA), the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), the Religious Affairs Directorate and the Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD), mobilizing all efforts to give aid to the best of the country's ability. Turkey also called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in August to set up an urgent meeting regarding the Somali crisis; the UN revealed that in the summer of 2011, 187 Somali children out of every 1,000 died before the age of 5. Kenya and Ethiopia were also hit by famine, but conditions improved by December, due to both a weakening in the persistence of environmental conditions and contributions donated to Africa throughout the year. In various international platforms, Turkish officials repeated their calls for humanitarian aid to be delivered to Somalia as some senior officials lashed out at world powers for standing idly by at the sight of the catastrophe. Turkey raised $350 million by October through both the means of the state and private enterprise. Turkey's immediate intervention aiding the victims of the African disaster was crowned by a visit from both Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, as both leaders went to Africa with their spouses to reaffirm Turkey's support for the famine-stricken nations. Erdoğan was hailed in the international media for his visit to Somalia, as he is one of very few leaders to step foot in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital and a city not only devastated by famine but also by terrorism, as rebels targeted the Somali government through suicide missions after they were defeated by the Somali army. Sporadic fighting between the Somali army and rebels in the country has claimed the lives of many of those who survived disease and malnutrition. Adding to Turkey's improved image both in Africa and on the world stage for its sensitivity toward the humanitarian tragedy in the Horn of Africa, Turkey also hosted in December a Turkey-Africa Partnership Ministerial Review Conference in İstanbul, which 54 African ministers attended along with representatives from important African institutions, achieving the risky task of gathering so many diverse voices under one roof. The aim of the summit was largely to improve economic ties among African nations and Turkey, as well as to demonstrate Turkey's commitment to establishing a better, more effective and institutionalized mechanism to further enhance relations with the continent. Africa, in return, demanded that more schools and hospitals be built and operated by Turks in the coming years. Prior to the summit, in October, Turkey's Africa initiative was further boosted with the appointments of Ahmet Rıza Demirer to Gabon, Hasan Ulusoy to Niger and Ali Rıza Coşkun to The Gambia, where the ambassadors have already started heading the newly established embassies. Alongside business agreements and trade deals, Turkey's Africa initiatives further aim to help improve African infrastructure through assistance in fields including agricultural development, irrigation, energy and education, and the country took an active part in most of the UN missions deployed in Africa in 2011 by way of providing personnel and making financial contributions. As in the last decade, Turkey tried on all fronts in 2011 to show the African continent that it is genuine in its interest and its projects are long-lasting. By the end of 2011, the African Union president named Turkey as the first country the union truly trusted, referring to European countries that shut down their embassies during the continent's hard times, leaving them to face their fate alone.

First we have to define what is Somalinimo what does it mean where did it came from is it our identity is it some sort of escape route we try to flee to when things go wrong. Somalinimo to me is Respect the lives of every living Somali Support Somalis against non Somalis protect the religion language and identity of the Somali people Yes many lives were lost many innocent civilians were killed in Somaliland but also In Somalia during the civil war when Factions were slaughterering innocent woman and children and unarmed men in the 90s and also today innocent Civilians are continued to be killed by Factions using foreign Mercenaries to kill more to achieve short term Clan objectives. I say lets forget and lets forgive and start all over from scratch. The Most important thing when i a talk about Somalinimo is let the Somali people live in dignity and respect that should be achieved in the horn of Africa than things will get better.

Thankful;768850 wrote: I concur! I have never seen this side of Xaaji. He honestly seem's frustrated and the fact that he is attacking the TFG like never before is shocking and tells me that his secessionists dreams are over. Xaaji, you are talking about the Aid workers that were gunned down when this has occurred all over Somalia including your inclave. In fact one of the most gruesome and brutal attacks this year was the slaughter of a family while they slept in their homes. This resulted in Mr. Taani's losing his in the NW Somalia goverment because of his involvement in the attack. Why else would he have been fired by Siilaanyo if he was innocent? Why hasn't Siilaanyo visited? You talk about Clan Enclaves is hiliarious because the protestors in Borama made it clear that Siilaanyo is running a one tribe government. That's not me saying it, but the people he supposedly preside's over. Thankful you are missing the point again what we are discussing here is why this Prime Minister mr Abdiweli failed his country he isn't aware of what his defense minister is doing, his defense Minister was not aware of if there were Ethiopian troops in Somalia, and if they were inside Somalia he would have welcomed them. The Prime minister didn't have a clue of what his defense Minister was doing or telling the press nor did he knew about the Mini invasion of Ethiopia in the central regions. The only thing he did correctly so far was being instructed by his superiors to deliver before august 2012 and we are not even sure he will do that on time. What did Abdiweli achieve that's what we are asking our self's other than touring in the Garowe Clan Administration or playing soccer on the beach in Mogadishu. As for General Nuux ismacil taani losing his job he was accused by some but with no factual evidence he was not involved keep in mind he was the supreme Somaliland general he is not a politician or an mp. He is the Army chief and responsible for the security of the nation one of the most important institutions of Somaliland (Ciidanka qaranka). His image cannot be damaged that's why he was replaced by president Siilaanyo. Going back at Abdiwelis shortcomings as being the TFG prime minister what about the food aid being sold in the Capital city markets by the so called TFG officials Abdi weli supposed to manage all of that he has failed miserably i have to say sorry thankful you cannot defend him.

While the current TFG prime minister was touring bosaaso with his clan cousin faroole the ruler of the fiefdom aid workers were being gunned down in Mogadisho. This is not about visiting the garowe clan enclave this is about misplaced priorities. Ali geedi visited the Garowe Clan enclave so did the Omar Abdirashid only Farmaajo didn't visit Garowe because the garowe admin was acting all hostile towards the TFG during his primeministership . So its not something remarkable to visit you're clan fiefdom. This is not about the TFG getting stronger or not this is about the incompanticy of this so called TFG prime minister Abdi weli Gaas.
