Somaliland: Al Nour Furniture opens the largest furniture showroom HARGEISA-Al Nour Furniture Somaliland largest furniture retailer open the country’s largest furniture retail showcase room on Thursday March 8, 2012. Hundred of guests including government officials, business community and residents of Hargeisa attended the grand opening ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony first was Mustafe Abdi Ciise one of Al Nour’s managing directors who began with his speech by first thanking the attendees of the grand opening for their time. Mr. Mustafe Abdi went on to say Al Nour’s main mission is to provide incomparable value, unmatched selections of furniture and exemplary customer service and so far it has done well for the company’s growth. Al Nour offers variety of furniture from home décor to business furniture. With the opening of today’s showroom A Nour furniture has instantly become the largest furniture provider in Somaliland. Also speaking at the opening ceremony were Hargeisa governor Mr. Ahmed Omar Hamarji who credited the company for opening the new store in Hargeisa and for the job creations that it brought to the community. Speaking after Hargeisa governor was Somaliland Commerce and Industry Minister Abdirisak informed the audience that the government’s policy is to encourage free trade in the country and to attract more domestic and international cooperates to invest in Somaliland.

There is an entire generation of younger people born in the 90s that have not witnessed the war and who's view are far more 'hard core' or nationalistic than my own and the generation that came before me. They were born under the green, white and red and have never known Somalia, some of them surprise me in just how politically aware they are, so that is one of the main reasons I also think what your suggesting is simply not plausible. This is true they are the future of Somaliland and they hardly remember or even know a Somaliland Somalia unity give it another 10 years and see what happens.

The democratization process of Somaliland continues the local elections will happen soon but there will be only 3 parties lets see how it goes but i am sure wadani will come out as a winner.

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) - The final list of political groups to contest local council elections to be held mid this year will be released on 20th April 2012. This was announced by the Political Parties Registration and Verification Committee-PPR&VC during a press conference held in Hargeisa today. The PPR&VC statement read by spokesperson Hasan Ahmed Duale detailed the conditions to be fulfilled for a group to be official registered. The PPR&VC said the deadline for verification nationwide will be 30th March; the committee also urged groups whose current performance is beyond per to either unite with others or throw in the towel. The PPR&VC final requirements entail that a political group must have: 1. 1000 registered members in each of the six regions of the country who must be, a) Registered as voters by the National Electoral Commission. b) Availed at the party's regional offices for a head count at regional party offices. c) produce their voters card during the head count The registered party members head count will be undertaken from 18th to 30th March this year, and will kick off in Borame the Awdal regional capital. In Sool region parties will be required to only prove that they have registered 20% of the required 1000. This is Pursuant to article 26 of the political groups and parties law, which provides for such an action after the PPR&VC is satisfied that prevalent status in the area are out of the expected. 2. Each party must hold its 1st General assembly- the GA must a) elect/select Central committee, Executive committee, party leader b) have a party structure c) have a party constitution and political program d) provide the PPR&VC with an audio & visual proof of all component 2 requirements A PPR&VC representative must be at each of the 17 political groups General assemblies that must be held from 15th March to 15th April 2012. The groups were asked to ensure that they maintain law and order while conducting their activities,
