She has a point though Somalia when we take it into the right context and how the west views the Politicians in Somalia. Are you not terrorizing raascaseer state are there not pirates in Eyl and other parts of the Garowe clan enclave wasn't Sh Sharif a former terrorist and now he is a good guy because he plays by the rules of the state department. Aren't the Islamist Shabaab not considered terrorists? Every one in Somalia was either a former terrorist or a current terrorist, lets take Indho cade for example he was a terrorist according to locals from the lower shabelle he was terrorizing them for years. Now he is a high ranking Military officer with in the TFG entity. Mahiga not that long ago was saying the Alla Sheikh group is taking over Villa Somalia. Not to forget that indhocade was a former terrorist in the ICU in 2006.

Somalia’s Shebab mock U.S. bounty, offer camels for Obama The Shebab still control large parts of southern Somalia, but African Union troops, government forces and Ethiopian soldiers have clawed back several key bases from the insurgents in recent months. (File photo) Saturday, June 09, 2012 Somalia’s al-Qaeda-allied Shebab rebels Saturday mocked a U.S. offer of up to $33 million for tip-offs enabling the arrest of its top leaders, saying they would give 10 camels to anyone who helped locate Barack Obama. The highest price put up by the U.S .State Department on Thursday was for Shebab chief Ahmed Abdi aw-Mohamed -- more commonly known as Godane or Abu Zubayr -- with a $7 million bounty for information on where he is hiding. “I can assure you that these kinds of things will never dissuade us from continuing the holy war against them,” said another senior Shebab leader, Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, or “Shongole”, in a message carried on several websites. “There is nothing new in the fact that infidels pay to have Muslim leaders killed. They already did that by offering camels for the head of Prophet Mohammed, and the dollar is the camel of today,” he said. He was referring to an offer of 100 camels made for the prophet when he was fleeing Mecca for Medina, according to the Quran. Khalaf added: “Whoever informs the mujahedeen fighters of the place where Obama can be found will get 10 camels and for (U.S. Secretary of State Hillary) Clinton, we will offer 10 roosters and 10 hens.” The State Department said in a statement announcing the bounty for seven Shebab leaders that “the group is responsible for the killing of thousands of Somali civilians, Somali peace activists, international aid workers, journalists and African Union peacekeepers”. The Shebab still control large parts of southern Somalia, but African Union troops, government forces and Ethiopian soldiers have clawed back several key bases from the insurgents in recent months.

Well technically when Omar ibn Khatab converted to islam he didn't change his name when Khaled Ibn waliid converted to islam he didn't change his name so these names are technically Arabic Names, But because these men were the Sahabaas of our beloved Prophet Muhammad csw its considered a Muslim name. There is nothing wrong with Pure Somali names its part of the Somali heritage my name is Xunjuf its an ancient Somali name and i am a devoted Muslim went to the Hadji several times allahu Akbar Walilahil Xamd.

Pending Demarcation of the Somalo-Oromo Boundaries
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Carafaat;840041 wrote: Both majority of Oromos and Somalis are opposed to the regime. But Zenawi uses the old age strategy of divide and rule. As long as the people are distracted with these kind of petty local land disputes, they are focussed battling eachother rather then Zenawi. May I remind you that these border demarcation are false and unvalid with the historic one, as long as Diredawa etc are kept outside Somali region. wax fahma. Amhaaras are also opposed to the Government sidamo also gurage also what is the difference the oromos want to landgrab Somalis. A tegaru from mekele or adwa is not a direct threat to a Somali ,in Somali galbeed this should not be confused with the TPLF regime. -

Rival Sudans fail to agree on disputed border Ten-day talks on where to draw a demilitarised buffer zone break off with no deal in sight 08 Jun 2012 12:04 Sudan's Al-Bashir accuses South Sudan of supporting rebels fighting the army in two southern border states [Reuters] Sudan and South Sudan have broken off security talks after failing to agree on a demilitarised zone along their disputed border. After 10 days of talks, the two sides were unable to agree on Friday where to draw a demilitarised buffer zone along the 1,800km-long border. Khartoum's delegation accused South Sudan of making new land claims, most importantly to the Heglig oilfield whose output is vital to Sudan's battered economy. The southern army had temporarily occupied Heglig during the recent fighting. "The border is based on a map that we have been using for the past six years (since the 2005 peace deal was signed), but they (South Sudan) have included five areas within their border," Abdel Raheem Mohamed Hussein, the Sudanese defence minister said. "We consider it as a hostile action," he told reporters in Addis Ababa, where the talks took place. To back its claim to the field, Khartoum has cited a 2009 ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague on Abyei, another disputed area. The court issued maps that put Heglig in the north. Juba contests Khartoum's claim, citing an internal boundary marked from the British colonial rule that ended in 1956, and the ethnicity of the local population. There was no immediate word from South Sudan, but members of Juba's delegation confirmed talks on border security had ended with no agreement and no new date scheduled. Despite the lack of progress, Hussein said both sides had renewed pledges to end hostilities during the talks. "We will continue attending these talks but the (African Union) panel will now take time and invite (us back)," he said. Talks on other issues to continue Sudan accuses South Sudan of supporting rebels fighting the army in two southern border states. Juba denies the claims and says Khartoum funds militias on its side of the border. Diplomats and the Sudanese foreign ministry said talks on a future status for Abyei, another contested border area, would probably continue for the next few days. Both countries are at loggerheads on a string of issues such as oil payments. Landlocked South Sudan took three-quarters of Sudan's oil production - the lifeline of both economies - but needs to sell its crude through northern export facilities. Both countries have failed to agree on a transit pipeline fee and Juba has shut down its entire oil output of roughly 350,000 barrels after Khartoum started seizing southern oil as compensation for what it calls unpaid fees. The African neighbours came close to war when a border dispute in April saw the worst violence since South Sudan split from Sudan in July under a 2005 peace deal that ended decades of civil war. Both countries, which accuse each other of supporting rebels in the other's territory, returned to African Union-mediated negotiations last week, the first direct talks since the border clashes. Nearly two million people died in the civil conflict between north and south, waged for all but a few years between 1955 and 2005 over ideology, ethnicity, religion and oil.

I also think to avoid technical problems and confusion the two Presidents should lead the talks President Siilaanyo of Somaliland and President sharif of Somalia should directly meet in the country they are supposed to hold the talks. I think Sh Sharif suggested something like that before.

xiinfaniin;839962 wrote: xaaji xunjuf, time has proven you and your ilk wrong, your waterloo was in 1992 , and not in the wars of ssc and khaatumo. you miscalculated the resolve of certain clans residing in colonial Somaliland and their determination against separation from the mother land. after twenty years of hype and propaganda, you are at the mouth of political implosion. Alas it is evident that you hope Sheekh Sharif to turn out sympathetic to accepting face saving political agreement while you are afraid of the inevitable and final political contours that are about to shape the emerging state... Xiinfaniin Somaliland doesn't worry about khaatuumo or others they are busy fighting over checkpoints with the garowe clan enclave between tukaraq and Garowe, let them do their thing. Sh sharif wants to come back as the president he doesn't want to many problems since he is facing to many problems and obstacles in Somalia insecurity, islamists poverty corruption with in the TFG, foreign troops in the country. A charter that is about to be transformed into a constitution. Somaliland govt will talk to sh sharifs govt and u just watch and wait for the outcome ama waynu heshiin ama heshiin mayno Ileen wa lilaahidi eh:D

Blessed who cares if they are out or not Somaliland is willing to talk to the TFG whether 12.000 Amisom troops are protecting the TFG Government or not. The Govt of Somaliland and the the TFG Somalia Government have the green light to talk and the international community will mediate between the two entities, it can't get any better blessed.Do you think things will miraculously change in Somalia after august i don't think so General Bahuku will still be there Mahiga will still be there after august. The political fights between a decentralized state or clan federalism will continue. Azania vs jubaland and setting up clan fiefdoms in jubaland will continue. And the fight against the islamists will also continue with the help of the international community. So it doesn't really matter if Somaliland talks to sharif or after august with sharif or another President. its the same sharaab only a different bekeri.

People are divided on this Xiinfaniin Somaliland made some conditions while some individuals with in Somaliland are against any talks with Somalia at the moment like the former finance minister and also several parliamentarians. Last time any one mentioned anything about talks with Somalia is when the Foreign minister said that Somaliland withdrew from the talks. And today Sh sharif said he wants the help of the tribal chiefs of Somalia when talking to Somaliland.
