  1. News: Ethiopia’s ruling party vows to elevate MoU with Somaliland to ‘a practical agreement’ January 26, 2024 From left: Adem Farah, first vice president, Abiy Ahmed, President, and Temesgen Tiruneh, newly appointed second vice president of the Prosperity Party (PP). Photo: PP/Social Media The ruling Prosperity Party (PP) also pledged to pursue incomplete steps to find peaceful options with armed groups, while warning to “strengthen” its “law enforcement” measures against forces who want “carry out” their interests through armed means Addis Abeba – In a resolution it issued at the end of four days meetings by members of both the Executive and the Central Committee, the ruling Prosperity Party (PP) said that the party has decided to bring the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that Ethiopia signed with Somaliland “to a practical agreement” while simultaneously giving attention to the principles of give and take to secure additional options to port access with other neighboring countries. The ruling party further said the MoU with Somalinad was testament to “Ethiopia’s position for regional economic and cultural ties.” The signing of the MoU on 01 January 2024, granting Ethiopia access to the sea in return for international recognition for Somaliland, has escalated tensions in neighboring Somalia, which argued that the MoU violates its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The move also generated several diplomatic statements from various countries pledging their support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. However, Ethiopia’s push back is so far limited to the statements of condemnation from Egypt and the Arab League countries, while it continued maintaining its position to see through the MoU. Other key points Among the directions outlined in the resolution of the ruling party is ways tackling obstacles to Ethiopia’s economic development. The party said local conflicts caused by a “network of narrow group interests” were one of the obstacles evaluated at the meeting. Pursuing “peaceful options” that are ongoing with armed groups should be strengthened in order to achieve peace at the national level and “speed up the journey of prosperity and ensure public benefits.” Advertisement However, the party warned groups “who present their demands” through armed means, “a decision has been made to strengthen the appropriate law enforcement measures.” The party said that during the four days meeting, its Executive and Central Committee members have discussed in detail and evaluated a range of other pressing matters, including agricultural productivity, challenges associated with procurement and distribution of fertilizers, export trade, mineral sector and sugar industries among others. A document which explores Ethiopia’s current political, economic and social aspects as well as current national and international dynamics was also presented and discussed. The party’s “five main pillars of the economy”: agriculture, mining, tourism, manufacturing and ICT and activities performed in these areas were presented and discussed and a direction was put in place outlining “the leadership and the members should work hard” together with the Ethiopian people.
  2. You cant dictate what we will do with our land , u have absolutely no say about Somaliland and what we can and will do . You are from Somalia not Somaliland
  3. We are the original Somali , Somaliland is the only Somali country that is 100 percent ethnic Somali. Somalia is 30 percent bantu others Djibouti is about 40 percent afar. .kilinka iyo nfd hadalkooda daa . Somali speakers is true because the bantus in somalia are also somali speakers, but we are not the same ethncity so to say that the somali speaking people is correct if u ask me. The two go hand in hand being the original somali where the poetry song folkore dance come from. and ofcourse the fact that koonfurians are also somali speakers but from different ethnicities
  4. No referendum should only be held in the area in question dadka raba go itaanka, if the Eritrean referendum independence was held in Ethiopia , the Eritrea would not won its independence. And the same with South sudan if it was up to sudan they would not be independent.. iam for the unity of Somalia, as i am for the unity of Somaliland as i am fro the unity of Djibouti. But it is better two have two separate governments because qaabka siyaasada iyo xukuumada kuma heshiin karayno
  5. So your purpose is not unity of Somalia , but just to derrail Somaliland , in order to stop SL aspirations for independence u dont care if the Former Somali republic unites or not. Who said Somaliland quest for statehood is based on the atrocities afweyne committed its not that it might have been the final nail to the coffin but the SL Quest for statehood started back in 1961 way before ur hero afweyne came to power. How about we hold a referendum on Somaliland we put this to the test. if u lot win we will keep our head down and accept you to rule us and we acceppt to be second class citizens in the Bunker, but if we win u accept our decision , referendum in Somaliland lowyacadde to yooocade and for referendum to be sucessful u need 50 percent plus 1 , i will make it better for u ,, we have to score 80 percent plus for it to be successfull. so i will give u the benefit of the doubt . lets just say what the SL people decide , i am sure the Sl people will overwealmingly chooose independence instead of unity with alshabaab pirates and terrorists and African union troops
  6. There is nothing wrong with the term Somali speaking people. We have to make a distinction between Somali ethnicity and Somali nationality , and Somaliland nationality kenyan nationality Djiboutian nationality .. all these people are somali speaking people. The same way u have Tigrigna speakers in Ethiopia and in Eritrea. German speaking people in Austria and Deutchland. people use this term often u know
  7. exlcusive interview with Edna adan Ismail. Somaliland envoy to the Somalia and Somaliland talks
  8. did any one listen to hassan sheikh he said he wants to set up technical teams and give ethiopia a port as long as they go via the bunker
  9. He won before so he can do it again it’s not like all the people that voted for him last time are all dead or gone Wax tahay. Fahan siyaasada
  10. Awdal is different then eastern sool first of all the awdal people the the rest of the somaliland people share an ancestry and geneology . How ever the eastern sool clan are totally different qabil Somaliland can easily survive with out eastern sool . There is no real issue there . Hasayeesha iyaga ka maarnayn somaliland I believe in self determination waxay iska jecelyihin ana. Waan la jecelahay if the bunker makes them happy so be it be one with the bunker
  11. Hé is right that the port of zeila was at one time in the 14 century invaded. By the Abyssinians and they held it for only a few years 4 or 5 years , this was during their Abyssinian king amde Tzion how ever . If we go by this logic the lush land south of Addis ababa also belongs to Somaliland since once upon of time the ifat sultanate ruled that part as part of their sultanate. So can somaliland claim south of Addis ababa . Xabashidu xisaab khaldan bay isku dhuften
  12. He is right though i dont see what he said that is so wrong , the history part though a bit wrong to say that colonialist created Somali state , it was a Somali inniative to begin with that somalis united in 1960. But the part that if he had made an agreement with somalia to lease ports inside Somaliland it wouldnt fly he said that couldnt work . so he is right on that. but either way if somalia claims its in a hostile conflict with ethiopia he shouldnt be in mogadishu at alll , what ever he says is meaningless
  13. There are no pro Union awdal never ever said that they want unity with Mogadishu over hargeisa ever. they always said that they wanted a fair represenation with in the SL government trhough out the last decades that was their stance matter infact it was their delegation that said we should hasten with the independence back in 1991. its not as black and white as people try potray . As for the garaad clan they are on and off they have choosen Somaliland over puntland and now Khatumo, i think their case is different . lets see how their relations go with Mogadishu , i am not opposed to their self determination if they wish to be part of Somalia they should not be forced into Somaliland i am very pragmatic on their issue

Wuxuuse sheegay in dowladda Soomaaliya aysan raali ka ahaan doonin tallaabo kaste oo wax u dhimaysa qaranimada Soomaaliyeed.
  15. I never understood unionist and their brain how can u divide further to Unite how does that make sense if borama cant unite with Hargeisa, how can boramae unite with Mogadishu
  16. So far we have not seen anything which indicates that Somaliland will benefit from this deal , but before we jump the gun we yet have to see the agreement first and try to do an assesment on it. All we know is so far hadalka suuuqa bad for aqoonsi
  17. Miskiin geert wilders apart from his anti assylum policies he has good idea for the country to be honest.. as for trump i dont think he is racists really people push him in that direction but i dont think he is really racist.
  18. “Since the announcement of the Ethiopia - Somaliland memorandum of understanding (MoU) the UK has been engaging closely with all parties involved, including the Somaliland” The UK Minister of State, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Andrew Mitchell
  19. i have a feeling he will win the elections again i don think the sleepy Joe is a match for the Charismatic Trump
  20. Maybe i am one of the very few Northerners that doesnt harbor any sort of hatret against afweyne for what he has done to the people of Somaliland yes there were attrocities committed for he didnt diffrianate between the SNM a rebel movement he should have attacked defending his supposed country. What was wrong was to carpet Bomb Hargeisa to ground . And let his soldiers scream any one who is from Laascanood galkacyo boosaaso cabuudwaaq leave Hargeisa. because they wanted to level it to the ground and kill the original inhabbitans there. How wrong that is . afweyne thought he was doing it to safe guard the Somali state and protect his Clan in power. Though afweyne harbored some tribal hatred against the Northerns he went as far as killing them in Mogadishu remember the jazeera massacre in 1989 there were no SNM in Mogadishu at that time. Now fast move fowards the Somaliland army in eastern Laascanood didnt carpet Bomb the city kill thousands of innocent civilians they could have though but they didnt yes there civilian areas targetted such as the hospital but because of the Militia that were there but for the most part laascanood is intact . Overall the fighting was between the Nabbdiids terrorists and the SL army . The SL government had no interest in destroying reer laascanood their city and their people, its all about porpotion and context and the scale things were done. Having said that i always said afweyne did what he had to do , we did we had to do there were killings on both sides. We are not his victims we are not pathetic i dont like victim mentallity we licked our wounds and moved on. no hard feelings at all.
