Should Mogadishu remain the national capital of Somalia?
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Tillamook's topic in Politics
^^ Capital is very important its the seat of the government and parliament the symbolic union of the nation. I say Kismayo should be the capital of Somalia since every clan of Somalia claims Kismayo and its on the coast perfect capital city. -

Xaaji Xunjuf replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Elders in Somalia are getting more influential very interesting indeed this was not the case years ago. Somalilands cultural imperialism in the horn is working after all Suldaan duub cadka walaga danbeya haatan. -
She is not a bad woman she is very persistent and very bossy to i wish her all the best luck if she becomes the deputy prime minister and foreign minister. She is also good friends with the current President of Somalia they worked together in hargeysa and Nairobi all in all she is a very ambitious woman.

I dont think he would've lose his license if he would've said Somaliland the break away republic and thats just what the reporter asked nothing aggressive about that. -
Atirisho Puntland is fine for now but if you want to create a better Puntland and a better Somalia u need to solve the problems in Somalia now i am not asking Puntland to do all the work ofcourse not but they should contribute their part. Do you think Amisom forces can do everything no they cant Amisom can chase Alshabaab from major urban cities but who is going to fill the vacuum you need Somali troops. And Puntland has the most capable armed forces in Somalia so why not contribute. Puntland security must be upheld and we must continue to support the peace and stability in Puntland at the same time we cannot neglect what is happening south of Puntland. You are thinking about you're short term objectives Puntland needs to think about where somalia will be in the next 20 years.

^^ A question is a question the HCTV reporter is i think a very nationalistic Somalilander. -
Tallaabo all i said was Puntland should actively be involved in nation building in Somalia they introduced federalism they helped with the constitution what is wrong with that Puntland is having security problems true but as long as Somalia is unstable with no strong security forces Puntland will still have to be double as alert. Because anything can happen but if they contribute to the peace and stability in Somalia if they help fight against Alshabaab they can make a change if they help establish security forces for the whole country. Tallaabo ur question about Somaliland,, Somaliland doesn't want to be associated with Somalia they dont consider themselves as Somalis at least thats the message coming from Hargeysa there is no point of wasting my time with them. Puntland on the other hand stands for union it stands for helping Somalia its stands for creating a better Somalia but the problem is Dr Osman wants to ignore Somalia and just concentrate on Bosaaaso garowe galkacyo bargaal qardho xafun and bendar bayla he wants to ignore the rest of the country and i think thats a good idea. Somalia today needs Puntland the most and Puntland needs Somalia the most its a win win for both of them if they work together.

Jamaal was under fire by the Somaliland HCTV reporter why did you say Somaliland region of Somalia very interesting interview listen from 28:05. The reporter said you should've said Somaliland an independent state with no recognition at the world stage like zainab al badawi did of the BBC. -
Chimera you made some good points but what you are also forgetting is prior to colonialism Somalis were the same as how they operate now divided loyal to clan even at sub clan level. You are correct when you say Somalis are the most homogeneous group in Africa speak the same language culture look the same physically. But the problem Somalis were nomads conquering lands from the 14 century till the 18 century. So they don't have this mindset of ownership of land, every somali clan or sub clan went his own direction in capturing new lands this is where the friction comes. True the Adal and Walashama dynasties were capable governments or the Ajurran empire in the south but even they came short when it came to uniting their forces. You have a point that if Somalis had no clan or sub clan structure but based themselves on regions and provinces it would've been better than the Somali identity for all would've worked. Do you know Somalis are the only group in Africa with the biggest territory but they cant seem to unite politically they aren't able to shape a common Somali identity the question is why you should answer that Chimera.

Dr osman Puntland has a President a vice president a parliament MPS a police force a military force its peaceful its secure it will be that way. But at the same time while Puntland is secure u are forgetting the bigger picture. Dr osman as long as Somalia is weak , Puntland cant thrive successively since Puntland is located in Somalia and linked with Somalia , Problems in Somalia will always hunt Puntland. So in order for Puntland to be in a better position Puntland needs to contribute to the peace and stability of the rest of Somalia. Dr osman Mr Faroole is very much involved in southern and central Somalia politics he played a crucial role as one of the most important signatures when the transitional period was about to be ended. Puntland can continue to play such a role it doesn't need a prime minister or president to be effective in Somalia. Puntland has a whole functioning government in garowe. Dr osman its a win win you can be an example you can be a leader you can contribute to the peace and stability in Somalia and at the same time Puntland is secure and is making progress. Do you see where i am heading do you see now where Puntland and Somalia can be in the next 20 years you need to look beyond the days of today you need to look in the future Dr osman you need to have a long term vision.
-
Dr osman i am not saying Puntland is an obstacle far from it Faroole spoke well welcoming the new government both the president and the prime minister. But i am saying Puntland is the most well established state in Somalia and the most well organized cant they contribute politically Militarily to the future of Somalia central and southern Somalia in particularly. You know the capacity of this current government in Mogadishu is minimum it needs the help of all the people of Somalia entities and governments. Dr osman sometimes you have to be the bigger man are you not a leader of Somalia so what if the folks in Mogadishu here and there act immature. Does that mean you should do the same no you should be an example you're selling you're self short Dr Osman.
-
Dr Osman its important to have a strong Puntland and its security forces are also welcome but dont you think after 15 years of Puntland existence as a state ,dont you think after 21 years of turmoil in Somalia. Its time to establish a strong Somali armed forces. Puntland is pretty secure it has police forces armed forces navy forces. Is it now time to establish all of that for Somalia why do you want to wait Dr osman why not be the leader its time to set the pace you have to show ur leadership skills like you're grandfathers did they were leaders Dr osman do you want to be a follower or a leader like King Osman and Sultan Ali Yusuf and President Abdirashid ali sharmarke.

Dr_Osman;882802 wrote: Xaji why would we want a strong somalia so it can attack us. We want a strong puntland in boys we can trust. Puntland will continue the path of modernizing its security sector and somalis will need to deal with But Somalia and Puntland are one Puntland strength is Somalia's strength and Somalia's strength is Puntland strength. Dr Osman how long do you think Puntland can remain a semi autonomous state with its own capable armed forces and navy forces. Dr Osman why not establish a strong Somali armed forces and let Puntland have the lead in that. Now that Somalia is a federal republic its time to Build Somalia.
