  3. According to Stratfor report, Israel has a listening station on the secluded Mt. Amba Sawara, as well as docks in the Dahlak Archipelago. By Anshel Pfeffer | Dec.12, 2012 | 9:30 AM | 13 Iranian Navy helicopter carrier Kharg (431) docking at Port Sudan at the Red Sea State, October 31, 2012. Photo by Reuters As IAEA arrives in Iran, new satellite imagery purports to show construction at Parchin By The Associated Press and Haaretz Dec.12,2012 | 9:30 AM | 13 Israel and Iran are both holding military bases in Eritrea on the shore of the Red Sea, the global intelligence company Stratfor reported on Tuesday. This is not the first indication of a covert Israeli military presence in the small African country, but Stratfor's report is the most detailed to surface to date. According to Stratfor, Israel has a listening station on the secluded Mt. Amba Sawara, as well as docks in the Dahlak Archipelago. Previous reports revealing the existence of these docks claimed they are being used by Israel Navy submarines and ships taking part in Israel's covert war against the Iranian networks smuggling weapons to the Hamas and Hezbollah. The weapon shipments leave Iranian port, are transported through the Red Sea to Sudan, and from there taken via Egypt to the Gaza Strip or ports in the Mediterranean. The cargo is later placed on cargo ships to Syria and Lebanon. The Israel Air force has reportedly attacked weapons convoys in Sudan several times in the past, most recently less than two months ago near the capital Khartoum. The docks in the Dahlak Archipelago were reportedly used by the Soviet navy during the Cold War, according to a number of media outlets. Using Google Earth, one can make out several vessels at the dock as well as what looks like a landing strip. In addition to the Israeli presence reported, Iran is also said to be maintaining a military presence in Eritrea in the southern port city of Assab. Stratfor's analysis claims Eritrea's government - one of the world's harshest regimes - is nurturing relations with the two rival nations in order to maintain its advantage against its larger neighbor Ethiopia, from which it gained independence in 1991, and Djibouti and Yemen. Eritrea has waged war against these countries in the past and is still fighting rebel groups supported by Ethiopia. It was also reported that Eritrea receives financial aid from Iran and military aid from Israel. http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/both-iran-and-israel-have-military-bases-in-eritrea-global-intel-reports.premium-1.484326
  4. Washington (CNN) -- President Obama has decided to nominate Sen. John Kerry to be the next secretary of state and could make a formal announcement as early as next week, a Democrat who spoke to Kerry told CNN Saturday. The expected nomination follows U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice's decision to withdraw her name from consideration for the post. She dropped out of the running Thursday after weeks of criticism from Republicans about statements she made about the September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, which left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. If confirmed by the Senate, Kerry would replace current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who plans to leave her post within the administration. Kerry, the senior senator from Massachusetts and the Democratic Party's 2004 presidential nominee, is noted for the experience, gravitas and relationship-building skills that could help him succeed as the United States' top diplomat. Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, recently jokingly referred to Kerry as "Mr. Secretary." Sizing up Kerry as secretary of state In his current role as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Kerry has traveled the globe on behalf of the Obama administration to mend frayed relationships. Most notably he has traveled to Pakistan after a series of incidents, including the raid that killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, that had set relations back. Obama's cabinet: Who's in, who's out? World travel is second nature to Kerry, 69. Born in Denver, he spent much of his childhood overseas, living in Berlin before going to a Swiss boarding school at age 11. After graduating from Yale University in 1966, Kerry was deployed to Vietnam as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Kerry served as a gunboat officer on the Mekong Delta, earning the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. Upon his return home in the early 1970s, Kerry gained public recognition as the head of the group Vietnam Veterans Against the War and for his anti-war testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Who would take McCain's senate seat In 1972, Kerry ran his first campaign, a losing effort for a congressional seat in Massachusetts. He eventually entered politics in 1982 as lieutenant governor under Gov. Michael Dukakis. Two years later, Kerry won the U.S. Senate seat he has held for five consecutive terms. The Vietnam experience came back to haunt Kerry during the 2004 presidential election. A Republican-funded group called "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" aired campaign ads accusing Kerry of lying to receive two of his five combat decorations and criticizing his anti-war activism. Incumbent President George W. Bush won the Electoral College vote 292 to 252 and racked up 3 million more votes than Kerry. McCain, Rice, Obama and the politics of personality After winning his fifth Senate race in 2008, Kerry took over the Senate Foreign Relations Committee the following January. If nominated by the president and confirmed by his colleagues in the Senate, Kerry would leave Congress, and Deval Patrick, Massachusetts' Democratic governor, would appoint a replacement. By state law, a special general election is required to take place 145 to 160 days after a vacancy occurs. So if Kerry were nominated, confirmed, and then stepped down on January 21 (Inauguration Day), the election would take place between June 14 and June 29, with primary elections being held six weeks earlier. Whoever wins the special election would serve the final year and a half of Kerry's term and would then be able to run again for a full six-year term in office in the 2014 midterm elections. Patrick says it's too soon to say whether he'll name a caretaker or appoint someone who would run in the special election. But a Democratic strategist in Massachusetts says Patrick is under pressure to avoid naming a caretaker, in hopes of preventing a divisive primary. The strategist told CNN that both Rep. Ed Markey and Rep. Michael Capuano have already separately met with Patrick to ask for the appointment if Kerry's seat does open up.

  9. The blacks are jealous of Somalis that's why they are so hostile towards Somalis , Somalis are excellent entrepreneurs they out do every one in any african country when it comes to doing business it would have been just great if they had a state. All we can do now for them is to pray for their safety and perhaps help them locate to a safer place.
  10. At least he is loyal to the clan and he deeply cares about the status of his clan in the Somali hierarchy.
  11. Respect president daahir rayaale kahin
  12. The constitution is oke but its a temporarily one the people of Somalia will decide if it eventually becomes the official law of the land permanently. The president was elected by the MPS of Somalia which is very legitimate the constitution was adopted very quickly and the Somali people had no real chance to look in it and the current parliament is doing everything to fix the many errors of the constitution. The constitution is not a Quranic verse it can be changed. Enough about the constitution as for the State of Jubbaland no one is against it, its being established by the people for the people under the Somalia framework and we welcome it. Just keep the clan goats from Nugaal far away from the Jubbaland project and we will do just fine.

  14. General Duke;899478 wrote: ^^^Somalia has a Federal Government. A constitution which is the sole law of the land. It gives the advantage to locals creating an admin. Thus what can a secessionist like you do about Jubaland? Nothing. Again, hate will only lead to your downfall and nothing more. No one said they cant establish their own state by the way the constitution is not a permanent constitution it needs to be voted on by the people for it to be a permanent constitution. But we are just saying the folks from garowe just have no say to tell others what to say about the new state in kismayo that's all:D
  15. General Duke;899475 wrote: XX, stop the hate. That is advice for your own sanity. There is nothing you can do from here... Duke you keep talking about hate ,and what am i suppose to hate i am just telling you like it is take it or leave it son.
  16. Waranle_Warrior;899472 wrote: ^Again pure hypocrisy Somalia has a government and they are the sole representative of the people of Somalia i don't believe Kenya is bad or Uganda and Djibouti are good but if there are problems between Mogadishu and Nairobi we need to solve that. And it seems there are no problems the president will go on a official visit to Nairobi soon
  17. Duke forget about Somaliland for a second the topic is about Jubbaland and Puntland if both are 2 federals states which i doubt because Puntland is not a federal state. But an autonomous state an autonomous state with in a country that has adopted a federal system. And jubbaland is yet to be established a federal state Jubbaland will be for the people from those regions and folks from garowe have nothing to do with it they can live there like every one else but they cant tell others not to talk about it that's the whole point. Waranle Somalia and Kenya were having dispute over some waters but as long as the relations between Nairobi and Mogadishu are good and the President of Somalia told us that the relations are fine we are happy. Djibouti is a country that has no issues with Somalia and its relations with Somalia is perfect so no worries at all there. Kenyans and Ugandans Djiboutians are all in Somalia and they all under the amisom command no one has a problem with that so far.
  18. ^^ Than clan federalism is pretty useless who is a Puntlander if a Puntlander can be a Jubbalander to whats the point of clan federalism.
  19. Maybe because Djibouti didn't say they want another lil Djibouti In Kismayo did you just hear you're self by the way Djibouti is an Amisom Country and Somalia's closest ally. Also there is nothing wrong with supporting but saying there are others non indigenous folks talking about jubbaland and telling the rest of Somalis that that's inappropriate while he is from Nugaal now that just doesn't add up.
