Demonstrations in Borama as reer Borama demand the Seylac Mayorship
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Djibouti was originally Affar land the jesus clan started migrating to the coast of Djibouti some where in the 17 century while the eastern part of Djibouti which is the vast majority of Djibouti remained affar. They migrated from Seylac Somaliland just like all the other nomads the jesus clan fought for Djibouti against the non Somalis and pushed them further east. But seylac was their ancestral homeland. As for Djibouti under french colonial rule many Somaliland clans were involved in Djibouti especially the Borama clan from Awdal. But as independence came and the leadership of the country fell in the hands of Guleed Abtidoon the Borama clan and the jesus clan were not in good terms Even the first president of Djibouti Guleed abti doon was born in Somaliland Seylac. As for seylac in the past during British colonial rule the vast majority of the residents were from the jesus clan but now the demographics changed now its close 50 50. The same way demographics changed in Djibouti with the migration from Diredawe in the 80s. -

Galbeedi but the jesus clan lives in Seylac to you are acting like they are not Somalilanders they have a say in selel they are small group but they have rights in Somaliland. The same way the Borama clan can be found in Djibouti. By the way the Coca cola company is not owned by the north western hargeysaawis. But by Mr Geele arab a rich Somaliland from Baligubadle community they might have investors. The Djibouti goverment invested in the project but thats not a clan issue. Mr Geele arab his father was a rich Djiboutian died recently. As For Djibouti Wa Dowlad jesus yaga danbaaba even the afars are insignificant let alone the borame clan or gabiley clan. -
If these guys could agree on something I am sure these 2 could agree on something

STOIC;903774 wrote: Xaaji, What good will talks do if there is no intermediate objectives-markers of progress- and no tentative timeline established in solving this problem once and for good? There is no timeline or time table and the IC did that on purpose they didn't want to rush anything keeping the balance so that no side says we are being rushed to do something but the IC also said that the talks should happened between the 2 sides and the talks should continue. These problems cannot be solved over night Somaliland and Somalia haven't talked for more than 21 years lots of things are being prepared for these talks there are many subjects on the agenda.

Stoic as long as people are talking its good and the international community is being the referee its all good, problems will not be solved over night as for Fowziya its up to the government of Somalia to pick who is representing them. But i am certain the President of Somalia will lead these talks on Somalia's side.

Somaliland: Somalia PM Informs of Imminent start of Talks Monday, 31 December 2012 11:34 By: Yusuf M Hasan MOGADISHU (Somalilandsun) – Machinations are in progress to resuscitate the postponed talks between Somaliland and Somalia. The Somalia prime minister Abdi Farah Shirdoon 'Saeed' has revealed that plans are afoot to reconvene talks between the neighboring countries which have been in suspension for a couple of months. The talks that are as a result of the dictates of the London and Istanbul II conferences on Somalia were postponed by the Somaliland administration in order to facilitate the election of a new government in Mogadishu after the mandate of the Sheikh Sharif led Transitional Federal government expired thus paving the way for the election of the current government of Hasan Sheikh Mahmud. The talk resumption revelation was made by PM Shirdoon during a briefing to the Mogadishu parliament where he informed the parliamentarians that successful conclusion to the talks whose objectives are known to all is anticipated. The British government that has been in his forefront of the talks is currently hosting, separately, the foreign ministers of Somalia and Somaliland Ms Fozia Haji Yusuf Aden and Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar respectively. While Ms Fozia has informed that her visit pertains to preparations for a forthcoming visit to that country by her boss president Mahmud Sheikh Hasan it is not yet clear on the purpose of the visit by her counter part from Somaliland. Suffice is to say that it is most probable that the two foreign ministers shall be brought together by the Brits who diplomatic cunning is renowned worldwide not to mention that their desire to see conclusion of the talks that started in Chevening a house in the suburbs of London is supreme. In a recent tweet the Somaliland head of state President informed that he is soon to embark on journey to the USA but revelations that his Somalia counterpart is on his way to the UK and coupled with the simultaneous arrival in London by their foreign policy chiefs is amble evidence that some sort of head of state meeting is in the cooking. During 40th anniversary commemorations of the Somali Pen Society in Djibouti the other day the two heads of state managed to hold a brief and first ever tet 'a' tet that was reported by president Silanyo as nothing of import despite revealing in the same breath that the postponed talks are to be resumed. In the short duration of the talks which were the first between the two former united countries in 21 years a number of accords were reached in Chevening house in England between technical committees and in the subsequent Silanyo-Sharif meet in Dubai.

STOIC;903728 wrote: Tribalism running amuck in Somaliland and thanks to the current administration for opening a can of worm. That some clans around Somaliland are outraged and multitudes of them have gone out on a street rampage is yet another example of how Silanyo adminstration have misread the domestic affairs of the country! How come we never heard this sort of communities complaining during Riyale? .. Because rayaale never held local elections of picking mayors and deputy mayors. Cigaal did that and he was a master of clan politics and ke kept the people preoccupied and united.

I agree the government of Somaliland needs to support the decision of the seylac community since the seylac community is free to elect their own mayor and deputy mayor. But lets not use fake numbers Seylac is a shared city between the borame clan and the jesus clan. the Borama clan got 10 seats and the Jesus clan got 7.

United Somalia;903716 wrote: That's what many HAG members say but i don't buy the whole story. Yeah sure i admit his excellence Ahmed M. Mahamoud Silanyo ain't giving HAG any problems in the past or present but does that apply to the rest? Who is the rest President rayaale never interfered in HAG affairs , even president Cigaal had hardly any beef with any HAG with the exception of Salaad boy and thats a long story it involves many factors. And we all know how President Abduraxmaan tuur assisted HAG in their war against General Siyad bare. Releasing all the SNA soldiers captured by the SNM from the HAG community and let the USC use them to root out general siyad bares soldiers from Xamar. So whats ur beef exactly with Somalilanders , one of Somaliland finest elders boqor buur madow even suggested to make peace between the different HAG factions islamic courts union and cali maxammad geedi. But they refused so mr United Somalia i suggest you to refrain from ur anti Somaliland stance. -

There is no beef between Somalilanders and HAG there was never any conflict or even conflict of interest between HAG and Somalilanders. -
No he is a fake elder not even a legitimate elder than went to Somalia approved a constitution claiming to represent the people of Somaliland that's a treacherous act he is behind bars now. What a fool did he really think he could walk freely in Somaliland lol how naive. People can have different political views as long as he doesn't claim to represent people he doesn't represent is fine there are thousands of Somalilanders who live in Mogadishu and have businesses there nothing wrong with that.
