there is no way that reer awdal said they want to be with Mogadishu we have to understand who does represent reer awdal is it the clan elders lose people in the diaspora who does represent the people they really elected by one one vote in the SL parliament who decides for whom thats one question second there is no evidence SL ever said that the land that is being leased to Ethiopia was land belonging to the Borama clan this has never been mentioned. i am 100 percent sure Muse knows the backclassh and he is working on to make it ceel sheikh or any place west of berbera people jump the gun muse selebaan gaal ina kahin no one said xeebta la kiirye wa xeebta awdal so people are getting worried for much of nothing actually

Somaliland counters Somalia's objections to Ethiopia MoU with sovereignty assertion Monday February 12, 2024 Somaliland's President Muse Bihi Abdi and Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed signed an agreement. Ethiopia now formally acknowledges Somaliland as a separate nation, and in return, Somaliland allows Ethiopia to use its ports and waters for naval and commercial purposes for the next 50 years.ENA Hargeisa (HOL) - Following Somalia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs' denunciation of the Somaliland-Ethiopia Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Somaliland and Ethiopia as a sovereignty violation and regional peace threat, Somaliland has countered these allegations. The self-declared autonomous region emphasized that the agreement with Ethiopia is built on mutual respect and shared goals for regional stability. According to a press release from the Somaliland Government dated February 11, the critique from Somalia regarding the MoU as unlawful is firmly rejected by Hargeisa, labelling it an overt breach of international norms and an infringement on its people's right to self-determination. advertisements The discord stems from the MoU signed on New Year's Day, which irked Somalia by potentially enabling Ethiopia to establish a naval base on the Somaliland coast. Somaliland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined the pact's importance in maintaining territorial integrity and fostering peaceful coexistence and regional cooperation. "We urge Somalia to abandon its outdated claims and respect the aspirations and future prospects of millions of Somalilanders," the statement said, calling for acknowledgment and respect from its neighbor. Somaliland, declaring its independence, underlines the constitutional foundation approved by its citizens in 2001, guiding its democratic elections and governance. "The legitimately elected government has complete authority to engage in agreements or treaties with any state or entity, subject to final approval by the people's representatives," Somaliland asserted, dismissing any doubts about its foreign dealings' legitimacy. In response to Somalia's reference to non-participatory documents, Somaliland clarified, "Somaliland has NEVER been a signatory to the documents mentioned in Somalia's press release," condemning the accusations as unfounded. Somalia has labelled the agreement "null and void," arguing that it contradicts its national constitution, which disallows regional administrations from autonomously entering foreign agreements. Viewing the MoU with Ethiopia as a stride toward legitimizing its autonomy, Somaliland's stance contrasts with Somalia's perception of the agreement as a sovereignty infringement and a setback to its progress, including anti-terrorism efforts and milestones like debt relief and lifting of the UN arms embargo. Somaliland called for cooperation and dialogue to ensure a peaceful outcome; however, the dispute over the Ethiopia MoU presents a considerable challenge to regional diplomacy and stability. The international community, including the United States, the European Union, and the African Union, has voiced concern over the rising tensions.

So the point is not that they want to encourage awdal state to be their own for their own self determination or anything or that it does have the right to gover them selves but it is a way just to stop or halt Somaliland am i correct in this. Now this means that the talks between somalia and somaliland are not officially dead and that ship has sailed now lets move forward how can they actually make it work though how can they install a puppet admin in borame from mogadishu i wonder how this can work.. people forget that this just gives me dejavu i just go back to 1985 not that long ago when afweyen tried to sandwitch the Noble men of the north. And it didnt work what makes him think that the the Bunker can make it happen. no need to re invent the wheel koonfurians learn from the mistakes of ur previous leaders

The Republic of Somaliland Position on Somalia’s Claims Regarding the Ethiopia-Somaliland MoU by Qaran News | Feb 11, 2024 The Republic of Somaliland Position on Somalia’s Claims Regarding the Ethiopia-Somaliland MoU Feb 11, 2024 For Immediate Release The Republic of Somaliland Position on Somalia’s Claims Regarding the Ethiopia-Somaliland MoU Hargeisa, Somaliland – February 11, 2024 – the Government of the Republic of Somaliland categorically rejects Somalia’s recent remarks regarding the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Somaliland and Ethiopia. The Memorandum of Understanding, centred on collaboration in areas of shared interest such as security, trade, and infrastructure development, is a sovereign decision made by two independent nations and does not require third-party approval. The understanding between Somaliland and Ethiopia is rooted in mutual respect, and a joint aspiration for regional stability. Somalia’s unilateral declaration of the MoU as unlawful blatantly breaches international law and exhibits its ongoing disregard for the self-determination of Somaliland’s people. The MoU upholds the territorial integrity of all nations involved and fosters peaceful cohabitation and regional collaboration. We call on Somalia to relinquish its obsolete assertions and honor the desires and future prospects of millions of Somalilanders. The Republic of Somaliland is an independent, self governing sovereign nation, with its own constitution, duly ratified by its citizens in 1997. Under that constitution, it has held multiple democratic elections where the people exercised their constitutional rights to elect their representatives, at every level of government. The duly elected government under the law, has the full authority to enter into any agreement or treaties with any other willing state or entity, pending final ratification by the people’s representatives. Somaliland has NEVER been a signatory of the documents referenced in Somalia’s press release. Any and all such claims contained in it, are hitherto, duplicitous. Lastly, the Government of the Republic of Somaliland reaffirms its dedication to peacefully pursuing independence and seeking international recognition. We maintain that cooperation and dialogue are indispensable for attaining enduring peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.

No because ur ridicled the national cause of SL which is to be a separate nation i could care less about biixi he can have an hard attack tomorow and his days are numbered any ways the SL people do not like dictatorship how ever what will remain is Somaliland its people its struggle Somaliland people have rejected it in 1991 via a referendum in 2001. That ship has sailed there is no discussion about that there is no political party in SL that advocates the unity with the bunker . Nobody is thtreatening anybody people assume that it was the SNM or calan cas or the others that did the declareation of the independence it was the people of SL that forced the SNM to declare independence siilanyo tuur ibrahim meygag. Non of them wanted it Even in cigaal kept the window open up untiil 2001. When he prepaired the constitition before that kept the window open as he envisioned that he could have ruled hargeisa and mogadishu together , but the people didnt want it. ina cigaal was even aksed by the US state department take the UN SOMALI seat since the walanweyns were having a total melt down and anarchy in walanweynia. But dadki bu ka baqay . SO the SL cause is a peoples cause it doesnt belong to biixi ina cigaal silaanyo tuur ina rayaale ciiro faisal selebaal gaal ina kahin. it belongs to the people the handfull politicans of SL they would have sold us to the highest bidder sababtay u sameyn wayeen because shacabka ka baqayaan. Somaliland tageer , u can piss on ina biixi who cares leaders of SL come and go and he shall go like his predecessors went
