One Country, two systems, two flags and two passports. Is that Possible?
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Carafaat's topic in Politics
in the mean time Somaliland controls 90% of Somaliland territory and there is no threat coming from Somalia, i am not sure about high profile SL politicians in the south if you consider fawziya high profile she never held a position in Somaliland not in 21 years. The only thing about her is she was a very known person in Somaliland and comes from one of the aristocratic SL families. But nothing will change on Somaliland and Somalia only the talks can change a few things. Somalia and Somaliland can work together some good deals. if both sides are open and sincere. Somalia hasn't change politically and domestically the only thing they gained with the trip to Washington is official relations state to state relations but that wont change the fact that Somalia still needs 17.000 AU troops in Somalia and that it still doesn't function as a normal state, that it still doesn't have the organs and institutions that the people of Somalia need. Somalia is making progress diplomatically but only the people of Somalia and its politicians can change Somalia internally and that's where the problem lies. -

Carafaat what do you think of a union between SL djibouti and Eritrea. That means also the Afars will be united the people of seylac lughaye and gabiley and borama who both live in SL and Djibouti will be united. And i always liked a beautiful beja woman from the lowlands of Eritrea. -

Alpha Blondy;909579 wrote: Abwaan, the notion of the former Somali Republic being unified once more is wishful thinking. whether Somaliland decides to go its own way or to reunite with its southern neighbouring country CANNOT be decided by Somalia. the fate of Somaliland remains firmly within its own hands. the great strides made by the Somaliland people and Government over the last 21 years is a reflection of Somaliland taking control of its affairs.these efforts have been wholly achieved by Somaliland and its efforts ALONE and without outside influence, assistance and politics of paternalism that's ravaged Somalia's collective mindset and that of its people. certainty, Somalia, as thought, a victim of outside manipulation, has to all intent and purposes developed a pitiful self-induced mindset. help us! its always one thing or another. there is always an outside enemy, some evil doer intent on destruction but NEVER the admission of fault, of poor governance, off internal division, off poor leaders, off willful negligent, off tribal warfare, off opportunism, off misfortune and so and so forth. Abwaan take this even dhaliyardi ingriiska ku koray baa Somaliland ku sheegaya dhankay u socotto, you will be dealing with these people for the decades to come

Oodweyne;909562 wrote: This is what is known in certain quarters a trail balloon send up to see whether the public could be conditions to accept a diminished outcome from the said talks with somalia. In other words, you do this sort of stuff in advance of a likely concession you know you will have to make in the negotiation table. All in all, it is non-starter for Somaliland, despite whatever the some elites connected to the current government may whisper to the ears of a passing journalist. But we shall see. The guy is talking about a confederacy state system it would make sense if it gives Somaliland an exit way out with UN supervised referendum or something in that direction but a lose union with Somalia means Kulmiye co failed to deliver. is a No go zone Siilaanyo and kulmiye know this will only cause troubles in Somaliland and create unrest so they need to come with ictraaf from Somalia or a way to get ictraaf. Just like in the 50s when the SL delegation said we went to England and people asked do you guys have the hawd an reserve area and they said no but we have independency. Well today they have to come we have recognition or we have recognition in 4 years. Other than that is big time F.

Che -Guevara;909560 wrote: Alpha, for all we know, you are Tahir. lol@XX, nagadaa dee. Somaliland keeps together. I guess you have not paying the last decades. The South is busy with itself, no time for anything else. You had 22 yrs to secure independence while the South was killing each other. Well no country in Africa got recognized only if they negotiated with the country they are seceding from except for western sahara , but western sahara has limited recognition and hardly no control of its territory. But both Eritrea and south sudan worked it out with the former country they were in union with. So Somaliland is not an exception but Somaliland has territorial control which is the most important part the legal dejure recognition needs to be sorted out with these talks or with out. But i am sure Somalilanders will not give up on having a home land of their own the struggle continues. If the Kurds are fighting to be free from turkey a NATO power i am sure Somalilanders have it really easy lol

Any union with Somalia is for Somaliland a defeat means everything Somalilanders fought for since 1979 goes down the drain literally. And a Somaliland independent state is a defeat for Somalia and they would have to accept that Somaliland is separate, something they cant the only thing that keeps Koonfurians and the only thing they agree on is that Somaliland should not be independent. Its whats keeps them together if Somaliland is gone the whole thing will collapse. So it will be hard one lets see how the talks go

Haatu marka danbe Carafaat sida cali beysteen bantuga ayuu caws dhabarka ku xidha oo bood booda sidooda he is a Somalilander than a unionist Somaliland and Somalia than he becomes a cushite unionist Ethiopians Eritreans and Northern Sudanese than a pan africanist wa marku ka si booda.
