STOIC;914528 wrote: Warya XX educate me here without any bias.I'm completely ignorant of the Somaliland locals except of course big cities like Hargeisa and Borame etc....I always hear them (Prof Galayadh camp) say Sool and Sanaag is ours..I'm not doubting the Sool portion (am guesing Lasacanood included) .So this Sanaag place has people with the colorful SL flag ? ..I did a little search and Found out that these are people that live there...Which side of Sanaag do they live? Awdal is mostly lived by the Borama clan while the selel district belongs mostly to the jesus clan of Djibouti. The sool region predominantly belongs to the khatumo folks except the caynabo district. And western and central sanaag predominately belongs to the clan who live as far as midisho which is about 40 km east of ceerigabo capital of sanaag. The khatumo folks also live in Sanaag but mostly in the south eastern Sanaag, and the far eastern Sanaag region Yube laasqooray badhan dhahar hadaaftimo xingalool is a very big territory belongs mostly to the Maakhir clan. So you see Somaliland is very diverse and multi tribal and all communities live together in those regions sool and sanaag. -

Puntland: The genocide in south Somalia in 1991 can't be forgotten
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Taleexi i don't condone violence against innocent civilians, but you are portraying a very one sided picture afcourse in a conflict between 2 armed groups casualties are a fact no one can deny. But to say that Somaliland armed forces killed students than that is wrong i have not heard about that incident i remember though there was an incident in laascaanood i think in 2011 and riots broke out and police shot at people and one kid got killed and that was unfortunate but he was not targeted because he belonged to a certain clan. The same thing happened twice in hargeysa just 2 months ago and in borama and seylac. And it happened all over Somaliland the only thing we can do now is to prevent it from happening and ofcourse the needed equipment as tear gas rubber bullets is needed in such a situation. This how ever cannot be compared to a war that happened in the south of Somalia were armed groups targeted innocent civilians and that was the whole point. -

^^ Taleexi thats bit of exaggeration on you're side the recent conflicts were between an armed group Khatumo and before that SSC and the SL armed forces. It was not a clash between unarmed civilians and armed Military forces. You're description is totally out of context in this case. -

Wadani;914501 wrote: There were a few battles, but they were between snm and pro-kacaan clans. Snm never engaged in killing of civilians on account of their clan. All ilma-jabarti were forgiven, this is documented history. We forgave, even though we suffered worse than the usc, with hargaysa and burco being bombed to the ground. I think we deserve some credit for this gobanimo. The SNM wanted to build a new country from scratch that included all the other clans in Somaliland, why take revenge if you want to create a healthy foundation of a new country. It was the most responsible thing to do when SNM captured from lawyacade to the outskirts of Xingalool, why do you need further clashes than shortly the reconciliation conference for the people of Somaliland Began. Thats how you keep the brother hood it was a wise thing to do and the SNM doesn't need to be given credit for that. -

Wadani;914467 wrote: So wat do u suggest? R u saying we don't need national reconciliation on a grand scale? Reconciliation needs to happen the Somali conflict is a long one a long civil war of 21 years what about reer shabeelada hoose and their grievances the Somali civil war was fundamentally different than the hutu and tutsi conflict. It needs a different approach but reconciliation is inevitable . -

Wadani;914459 wrote: That's exactly my point xaaji. If they could get passed it, we definitely can. Every side just needs to admit their crimes and sincerely seek the forgiveness of their victims. Their hatred was planted by the Belgium colonialists , Somali tribes are not like that Somalis need to impose different methods of understanding. By the way the Tutsis are building a Kingdom in Rwanda lol almost ruling more than a decade. -

This is hutu radio kill all those tall cockroaches, these people were a bit extreme with their machetes there was so much pathological hatred between the tutsi and hutus. I dont think the hatred between the Somali tribes was that extreme. -
Puntland: The genocide in south Somalia in 1991 can't be forgotten
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Oba the problem is not that, some people have grievances some suffered more than others and we are not even saying the pain of some groups are more important than others not at all. i am Just saying there was lots of blood shedding between clan factions between sub clan factions between so called TFG vs citizens all of that needs healing and proper reconciliation needs to happen for Somalis to forgive each other and to forget and to trust each other again. There are some people who think they are not safe in Mogadishu if they visit they think if they go there and try to reclaim their properties they will be assassinated. You might have forgotten and forgiven those who have killed you're close relatives but there are many who still have not forgotten their pain so if you want to build bridges between people you need to listen to all grievances all over Somalia that's the only way forward just don't try to hide what happened. -
Looks good lets hope we reach 250 million by the year 2015.

Puntland: The genocide in south Somalia in 1991 can't be forgotten
Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
I believe there was no genocide in 1991 but there were many killings and innocent lives were lost some people were just ordinary citizens who had nothing to do with general siad bare, other than sharing a common tribal lineage with the late dictator. Many lost their love once sons daughters and elders were not spared. Now this needs healing and you do that by talking about the past not in the way Keyd media does though. What happened in Mogadishu between 2006 and end 2008 was the most treacherous act its also unforgivable and people can only blame the habashi collaborators Geedi Cabdilahi Yusuf cabdi qeybdiid gacmadhere, and that part needs healing to but it takes time Oba. -

Xaaji Xunjuf replied to Saalax's topic in Politics
Oba its true the USC stole many houses of reer Mogadishu and old wounds need to heal for people to trust each other again. You cannot ignore what happened i hate it when Somalis try to ignore their problems and try to wish wash it with empty rhetorics of waanu is jecelnahay we have moved on. People can only move on if they talk about their past and problems , dont be like the saudis who keep their black sudanese concubines behind doors and when they were confronted with it by pious sheikhs in saudi arabia in the 70s. They said there is no such thing and denied the whole thing, you have to challenge you're problems and than solutions will come. -

I think his kids are telling him fantasies, maybe they are fond of their reer abti, I am not impressed Mr Faroole, NOT IMPRESSED. Come on elections are good whether its in Puntland or even southern Somalia , people will vote for their clan but its better than no democracy at all even if there were elections in Somalia people would have voted for their Qabiil. in Djibouti election happened but its strictly run by the goverment the same if its done in Kilinka shanaad.

Somalia but HAG has good friends in the region though they have 17.000 african union forces on their side Diplomatically uncle sam supports their cause and now Hassan is forging new relations with the Europeans. But lets see if they can manage it politically and economically that's the biggest challenge. They have a good leverage on Saacid who operates as a deputy mayor of Mogadishu no more a contest between a President and his prime minister. And it seems the formation of Jubbaland was put on hold by the Gedo Clan because the region was not fully liberated. The biggest challenge for Damjadiid and HAG will be implementing clan federalism and the fight against Amiir Godane. And ofcourse the talks of the century between Somaliland and Somalia.
