Because according to his map hargeisa gabiley arasbiyo wajaale are all part of the owdal state thats how he calls it. Qurilugud and the northern buhoodle district is part of khatumo and even western sool is part of khatumo according to him.

^^ Somalilanders do not really care about ruling Somalia do you know how many chances the Koonfurians suggested to unite the country and move the capital to hargeisa in the late 90s. But Somalilanders have seen that union with Somalia is not beneficial for them Somalilanders are people of great quality and can build nations not to forget that resources of SL they made the former Somali republic and they broke it. if Somalilanders wanted to play politics with Koonfurians they could get a lion share of everything. But why share anything when you can be your own country Somalilanders are people who are very confident and have trust in their own strength something the rest of the Somali speaking people lack. Not to forget all the resources in Somaliland, Somalilanders believe the former union in 1960 was wrong to being with and should've never happened. But some how the union was good , the struggle for independence and statehood made Somalilanders stronger , so in a way it was positive.

Aaliyyah;940334 wrote: First of all, the current clan based admin “Somaliland” is different than the British Somaliland that consisted of multi-clans. Secondly, Khaatumo clan was the only one among the clans in the North of Somalia who never signed any treaties of protection with Britain. Hence, the Khatumo folks never recognized the colonial borders (British Somaliland) and still stand firm by their decision. They were not the only clan there were other clans to who didn't sign the colonial treaties for instance the Baligubadle clan southern Hargeisa didn't sign the colonial treaty and there were others to. The Brits signed a treaty with all the coastal tribes Maakhir clan the awdal clans saaxil and other sanaag clans. But since the Garaad clan is a clan of the interior they didn't sign a treaty the same with the baligubadle clan.

The president is there to talk about the security of his country and the neighboring countries Ethiopia Kenya Djibouti are there to. It is true that the president is opposed to the Jubbaland conference. And he wants the IGAD countries to sit behind him when it comes to the sovereignty of his nation and that they do not support any conference with out the green light of the goverment in Somalia.

Indeed the Pirates have lost everything politically and economically the garowe clan enclave agents are no longer roaming in Mogadishu. They are out of business since their piracy activity is no longer active so the double dealing projects with one voice claiming to fight piracy, trying to get support from the international community at the same time, sharing the piracy booty with the pirates. They wont have any influence in the so called jubbaland project because the Mogadishu government placed saacid farax in charge to deal with the Kikuyu agents. When it comes to Somaliland and Somalia and the dialogue process, they were put in their place to sit behind Hassan culusow and co, and that he is the only person legally responsible for Somalia from raskmabooni to raas caseer. Faroole was so desperate because of his situation and the status of his tribal state he suggested secession for his tribal fiefdom and hinted that he wanted to Join Somaliland:D. When it comes to Political H.artism its a dead cause 3 maakhir subclans in the past 3 months declared their support for SL including the former maakhir governor for the pirates defected 2 months ago to Hargeysa. And Somaliland vassal region khatumo roaming in the eastern district of taleex are still opposed to the pirate fiefdom. Even they want to join SL and close down the border with the help of the SL goverment they just want a piece of the pie in hargeysa like the ssc faction.

Eritrea Supports Egypt's Position Over Nile Water Dispute BY TESFA-ALEM TEKLE, 18 APRIL 2013 Addis Ababa — The Eritrean government said this week that it supports Egypt's stance over a colonial-era treaty that granted Egypt a right to utilise the lions share of Nile river's water resources. The Red Sea nation expressed its support in a message sent from the Eritrean president and delivered to Egypt's president by Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs, Yemane Gebreab. The Egyptian president, Mohamed Morsi, has highly welcomed Eritrea's position towards Egypt's "historic rights" over the sharing of the water of the Nile River. Morsi said that he looks forward to meeting his Eritrean counterpart. Although Ethiopia is the source of 85% of the Nile's water, downriver countries, Egypt and Sudan, use 51 billion and 18 billion square meters a year respectively, around 90% of the Nile's resources. In April 2010, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania signed a new agreement in Entebbe, Uganda, to overturn a colonial-era treaty seeking a more reasonable and equitable utilisation of the river. The deal was approved after Burundi later signed the agreement and joined the group in March 2011. Newly-independent South Sudan has not yet signed the Cooperative Framework Agreement but it has also rejected the 1959 Nile water agreements between Sudan and Egypt. Downstream countries of Egypt and Sudan have, however, dismissed the deal, saying the agreement is insignificant because it did not include all Nile basin countries. Egypt has in the past warned against construction of further dams along the Blue or White Nile's. One year after the Cooperative Framework Agreement was signed; Ethiopia launched the construction of a massive $4.8 billion dam on the Blue Nile River raising protests from Sudan and Egypt that the dam - Africa's biggest - would reduce the flow of the water to their territories. Currently a tripartite committee, which is composed of six experts drawn from Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan, and four more international experts are assessing the impacts of the project. The team is expected to announce the final findings and conclusions in May 2013.

Statement by His Excellency, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud Bahar dar (Sh.M.Network)— Statement by his excellency, hassan sheikh mohamoud, the president of the federal government of somalia on Bahar dar forum for security and organized crimes. His Excellency, Paul Kegame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E Hailemariam Desalegn, Prime Minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, First and foremost, let me take this opportunity to wholeheartedly congratulate the TANA HIGH LEVEL FORUM BOARD for successfully convening the 2nd TANA High level forum on security in Africa. Special appreciation and gratitude goes to two of the most respected Africa’s statesman and members of the Tana Forum Board His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo and His Excellency Thabo Mbeki. I wish them very best and success. We are much obliged to our hosts, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to upkeep international attention and focus to the plight of security and organized crimes in Africa. We all thank our host and those who initiated and organized this forum and the patience, compassion and hospitality to us. Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, Terrorism is one of the biggest and most challenging security threats facing Africa and the World in the twenty-first century. To meet this challenge, a truly African approach is needed, based on a clear legal foundation and solid cooperation. The Federal Government of Somalia in rejoining to the African spectrum as well as in the community of nations would like to contribute significantly and constructively in developing new ideas and frameworks to combat and improve security, based on our own experiences. As stated by those who already spoke, I am delighted to pay my tribute and great admiration to the champion and the biggest advocate to peace and stability in Africa in general and in this region in particular, the late Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Meles Zenewi. Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Today, Africa needs strong commitment from its leaders and people to stand together to combat any sort of illegal activities, including the drugs and human trafficking, illegal arms trade, illegal fishing and maritime piracy, toxic waste dumping, money laundering and any other organized crime in Africa. I use the word stand together because, current organized crimes are Africanized; Therefore, the effort to combat it MUST also be Africanized. I believe that our concerted efforts mitigated with a strong legal framework; and enforced laws will generate a better image for Africa. Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Africa must have the courage to say Crime is a Crime whatever elements it involves, it has no justification, and we have to combat it once and for all both intellectually and militarily in a unified manner. Let me clarify about the present situation of my country. The challenges that Somalia faces today are complex and differ from the traditional organized crimes. Lack of security and functioning law enforcement apparatus multiplied by prolonged statelessness have created a wide spread instability in the country. As a result, establishing effective security sector remained top priority for my Government. Today, however, there are encouraging signs of progress and hope, and looking forward to stable country with functioning security, justice and law enforcement institutions. Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Unlike some other countries, Somalia experiences daily instances of criminality, to the vulnerable people, and abiding citizens losing their confidences and trust to the institutions. The challenge we are phasing is simultaneously building effective security institutions in one hand and fighting organized crimes on the other hand, we have no choice. WE MUST DO IT ON ALL ACCOUNTS. Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am a firm believer that our national security depends on having safe and secure neighbors, so our neighbors will depend on a safe and secure Somalia. The challenges that Somalia is facing today can be won and overcome, if our African brothers and the international communities together assist Somalia in building our security forces and its related institutions with all its effectiveness and oversight civilian leadership. Currently AMISOM is supporting our forces in defeating terrorism in Somalia. Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Let me remind you, that the threats of transnational organized criminal activities in Somalia are not limited to piracy and terrorism. It extends illegal fishing, toxic waste dumping and a huge destruction of our forest charcoal production and export. These activities will not only be illegal but causing for Somalia huge environmental problems that pauses serious danger for generations to come. These crimes have to stop. This must not be seen as a Somali problem. It is both African and global and must be faced in that way. Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, We know that the costs imposed by Somali piracy on the global economy are so high and that international mobilization to eradicate piracy is ongoing effort. However, these efforts cannot be sustained without stable Somalia. Parallel to that, my Government has launched a huge campaign to eradicate the piracy through mediation and dialogue with the community leaders and the local stakeholders. The fruits of this campaign have led to the voluntary denunciation of so many young Somalis to these illegal activities. The Government is planning to present to the international community a plan for reengaging the young former pirates by establishing a vocational training centers and reeducating to abide by the national and international laws. Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe that Africa is waiting us to fully address and discuss these issues in very frank and concerted way. To combat all sorts of transnational organized crimes, we need to work out a strategy from the local to the global level. The need for effective communications to fight national and international organized crimes must be made locally and globally. I hereby confirm that Somalia is committed to this. Above all, we need a forum like this august one to organize many events to continuously address and focus on the eradication of these crimes. May I take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to the Institute of Peace and Security Studies, the TANA High Level Forum Board for giving me the chance to address this forum. I would also like to express the same appreciation of this audience. I am particularly indebted to Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn who offered me to participate for the first time in this Forum. Excellencies, let me conclude by thanking the Federal Government of Ethiopia for being the host for this forward-looking event. Somalia owes you for this endeavor. You are a true friend! THANK YOU.

There is no such thing as Ogland, the current term you are looking for right now is dawlada deegaanka Somalida eeh Itoobiya, thats an entity that exist. If there is an OG entity we have not seen it yet horta ka midha dhali and the fight the xabashis and get your land back. Somaliland is different its a functioning defacto state the Koonfurians have no control over Somaliland , you cannot compare that to your Og Imaginary state my friend.

^^ The thing what can you do to stop Somaliland the answer is nothing:D Somaliland has left you behind and some people still have a hard time accepting this fact. With the Koonfurians the Pirates seem to be the one who really are deeply saddened by this development since they are neither in Mogadishu politically. Nor is there room for them when Somalia and Somaliland are talking.

Homunculus;940292 wrote: Things are getting more interesting, I hope he follows through. If this is his final word then why is the Somali president wasting his time negotiating with Somaliland? Shouldn't he concentrate his energy in building a functioning country first? The talks between Somalia and Somaliland is something the international community called for its not in the hands of the Somalia President. The world called for the 2 sides to talk and to clarify their future relations and they would facilitate these talks and support it particularly the Europeans called for these talks to happen. The president of Somalia can in his turn than negotiate for a union while Somaliland insist to remain a separate republic at the end the people decide. Let the talks continue in a few months and see how it goes, i think the president of Somalia will go for some sort of compromise and the SL goverment will support it as long as it is given an official exit way out, in a reasonable time frame. The self determination of the people of Somaliland is the way forward.

Somaliland: Sovereignty is Irrevocable and Quest for Recognition is Relentless -Silanyo Saturday, 20 April 2013 16:04 President Silanyo © re-affirms Somalia Confrence boycott at a meetint with Diaspora Somalilanders in London "We have informed the UK that our decision to boycott the forthcoming London conference on Somalia is final" "During various engagements and discussions with friendly governments as well as neighbouring Somalia We have never wavered from our irrevocable Sovereignty stance- President Silanyo By: Hasan O Horri LONDON (Somalilandsun) – The sovereignty of Somaliland is irrevocable thus a foregone conclusion and the only way forward is international recognition at all or no cost. These sentiments were expressed by the president H.E. Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo during a meeting with British Somalilanders in London on the evening of 19th April 2013. The head of state also informed the over 1000 landers at the meeting that he has informed the UK government that the decision by the Hargeisa Administration to boycott the 7th May London conference on Somalia still stands firm. During a meeting President Silanyo held with the British Prime Minister David at No 10 Downing street The UK government had asked Somaliland to reconsider its boycott decision and participate in the 7th May London conference on Somalia. Said Dr Silanyo "We informed the British premiere that The London conference which is co-chaired by the president of SomaliaDavid Cameron requested President Silanyo to reconsider somalia conference participation during a meeting a No 10 Downing street is solely for that country therefore having nothing for Somaliland to offer nor for it to be offered" The head of the yet to be recognized country also revealed that though he rejected the UK request to reconsider on attending the London conference, Somaliland is beholden to the people and government of the United Kingdom for continued friendship that the two countries have shared for long. Said he, "It is with regret that I refuse to accede to the British request but I informed PM David Cameron that while Somaliland is proud of its friendship and grateful of development support it receive s from the UK, the decision of Landers is supreme to all" To the jubilation of the multitude of British Somalilanders and those from other European countries sardine packed in the Mermaid Centre of central London Dr Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo said that his administration is ruled by the decisions and desires of Somaliland citizens in whose mandate he, president Silanyo operates under. On the issue burning issue pertaining to on-going dialogue with Somalia President Silanyo informed that Somaliland and its administration holds no ill-will against its neighbour Somalia but only wishes of good tidings but that any engagement between the two have and shall only be on equal basis that is one sovereign country to another. "During various engagements and discussions with friendly governments as well as neighbouring Somalia We have never wavered from our irrevocable Sovereignty stance" said President Silanyo From left President Hasan PM Erdogan President Silanyo Turkish FM Davutoglu and Dr Omar after signing the Ankara communique in TurkeyRecounting the lengthily but yet to be reciprocated worldwide quest for sovereignty, president Silanyo said that despite the blind eye and deaf ear accorded the two decades quest the international community continues to engage with Somaliland as they do other recognized nations. He reiterated his oft promise to knock every door, visit any country and or meet any individual deemed of importance to the attainment of Somaliland's 21 years old quest for international recognition as a sovereign nation. Somaliland which pulled out of its then 1960 voluntary later fateful union with Somalia in 1991 has remained unrecognized by any nation despite full jurisdiction of its British mapped boundaries and undeniable gains in Democracy, security and multi-sectored development etc. Following the dictates of the Somalia conference held in London and Istanbul in 2012 Somaliland has held three dialogues with Somalia resulting in the Seven points Ankara Communique of 13th April 2013 which augment and reinforce the four points of Dubai Declaration and eight points Chevening House-London agreement. The lively meeting with Diaspora Somalilanders the president H.E Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo was accompanied by the first lady Ms Amina Sh Mohamed Jirdeh "Weris", Speaker of parliament and leader of opposition party Wadani Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi "Irro", Foreign minister Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar, Minister of the presidency Mr Hirsi Haji Ali, Attorney General Mr Hasan Ahmed Aden, and Diplomatic Representative in the UK Ambassador Aden Awale.
